The issue with that target is the GLUE. Glue residue gets all of the shaft of the arrow. I ended up removing the white foam and removed the glue.

The glue is between all the layers too. They call it fused but it's essentially glued. It makes for an incredibly durable target but exhausting to removing arrows from. Morell has this type target for several years that I know of. I bought my first one maybe 5-6 years ago.

Appreciate all you content and hard work! I'm on my second Yellow Jacket. First one lasted a very long time. It is a very very tough foam target. It breaks in somewhat over time but compared to compressed layered foam, it's tough removing arrows. I'm only pointing this out for people that may not fully understand the construction of this vs a layered compressed foam. This Morell is glued layers stacked many thick. You are shooting the face or the top layer and your arrow goes through many layers and glue as it enters the target. The compressed layered targets your shooting at the edges of the layers that are not glued together. Those wear out very quickly but are very easy to pull arrows from. Granted they are both foam but very different in the way they are built. While i have a Morell like this, I doubt you want to be shooting this everyday. IMO this target is an excellent BH target due to it's toughness.

I just took Kramer's advice and found some used gym flooring, cut it up and stacked the pieces, cut 2 pieces of plywood I had lying around for the top and bottom and strapped them with hardware store straps... works like a charm

The target that gives the most bang for the buck is a bag sleeve purchased on Amazon for 20 bucks filled with old cloths. Arrow pulling is BY FAR the easiest and lasts as long as any other bag target for $20.00. I would like to see a review of that

I'm loving this series Kramer. Thank you. This is the target we have at home. I definitely am going to try to use my field. Points instead of my Broadheads, just for durability. Our Xbow fires approx 300fps, and that's with a 350 or 400 grain, and a 100 grain point. And... It's an 11 inch pwr stroke? IIRC. Anyway. It can definitely punch very deeply anywhere on the target. And has a pretty tight grip, (which is what slows the shaft so much) Anyway. Its been good to us so far.

Subbed. I’m actually looking for a decent target right now which is what brought me here. Was considering the block 6 sided target, the 365 target (high praised reviews), a rinehart, or the morrell high roller. Don’t want to spend a fortune as I built a massive target for long range but some of my fmjs are to heavy and fletching will get stuck. Need the best bang for your buck value target that’ll check all the boxes without pricing being insanely high (they all are overpriced honestly)

The only thing is on all these tests so far you’ve only shot one side of the target. Having many of these targets myself once you affectively tear up one side when you turn and start using the other in just after a few shots, your arrow will blow straight through. Take care of Kramer. God bless.

It's an old trick to turn layered targets so the layers are vertical. I've done this since the block first came out. The arrows don't penetrate the layers, They just squeeze between the layers.

Hi, I appreciate your contents, thanks, you will help me save a lot of money. About that target, didn't it said on the target that the side should be used for the broadhead? Should it have been different?

Many years ago, I got tired of spending 100's of $$$ on manufactured targets, and then after a few years, they fell apart. So.. I decided to make my own. I first started with stacking cardboard into a box and filling voids with expanding foam... it worked very well, but gummed the arrow shaft. My current targets are more life-size. Made with a tite weave burlap bag, and filled with dense foam padding.. heavy cardboard and "plastic borritos".. all tightly stuffed into the bag. One side is a series of Bullseye's, and the other a silhouette of a deer (hand/spray painted) .The cardboard and bag are sprayed with waterproofing. I test them at 15 feet with a 60lb.. 305fps compound. The goal is to stop the arrow no more than 60% penitration... if it fails, I re-pack it. These targets will last 3 years outside without any additional waterproofing and sitting on the ground. Tested in Eastern Washington

That target can not stand up to two things alabama heat and dogs that 5 spot will melt off quickly and if the sides get damaged at by an 80lb puppy with nothing better to do it’s over

Walmart sells one that looks just like that with the white circles glued on the front. Don't buy it. The glue gets your arrows covered in gunk.
