How old is the controller? It is possible the controllers ”aux port” has become damaged and the hole is now not small enough in order for the 3.5mm cable to be snug enough.

Hey, I’m from the Uk, I want to spend in total £200 ($250) for my headphones on the Ps5 (plugged to the controller) I use it for call of duty and need to hear footsteps clearly, also I want to possibly get a mic with it. Would you recommend closed or open for back for that? Also Would you not recommend headsets with 32ohms instead of the 80? Please let me know the best option for me as I’m very new to this, but want to get best for my price range. Thank you for the great video!

Depending on were you plug it in, but yes! I plugged it in to my Gaming TV in the Headphones jack on the side and it compressed thw audio signal and ran Dolby Atmos through them and it sounded crisp and super detailed and even got louder then with my dac/amp. So yes, but it depends on what the source might be.

😢 I also want 3D audio now, it would sound amazing with my Turtle Beach headset 💪

I just ordered a sound blaster x g6 to pair with dt990s on ps5. Do you have anymore tips on how to best setup the g6 on pc (EQ, settings, etc.) and once it’s plugged into the ps5?

1. Turn off the SBX profile 2. Set the Sample Rate to its Max Value 3. Use my EQ 4. Turn off any surround or 7.1 virtual channel mixing 5. Make sure its running only Stereo Mode 6. Mute and lower all mic volumes for the DAC. EQ Settings: Preamp: +9 31hz is +9 61hz is +9 125hz is +9 250hz is -9 500hz is +1 1k is 0 2k is 0 4k is +2 8k is +9 16k is +9 name the EQ (FribergEQ) For a bit more clarity in background audio I recommend leaving 250hz on flat (default) Enjoy

@@heach8912 yes sometimes, most of the time I leave it “turnes off” but in Sony Exclusive games its cool to leave on. But its hit or miss with that software, in some games you will hear ZERO difference and it adds lots of distortion, and in some it just makes the audio less loud and more balanced but its easier to just leave off.

I did notice though that I can’t turn off SBX and still have the EQ active in the SB command app. I did make a “test” SBX profile and basically turned everything I could off to mitigate this, but not sure if that’s the best sound solution.

Can you help my DT 990 pro are really quite on PS5 how can I fix that ???

Those headphones are pretty poor in audio quality, I owned a pair of those and returned them after just 8 hours of usage. There is audio out there on the market that is way better and almost even cheaper. Pair ”Beyerdynamics DT990 Pro” with a Soundblaster G3 and when your done purchasing those, ask me for EQ tips again. I have some amazing profiles for gaming. But until then, do this to your Playstation Headset: • for more detail and clarity (decrease bass and boost mid by +2 and diskant by +4) • for a deep and warm sound, ”lower mid -2” and ”boost bass by +4” and dont touch diskant Try playing around with the 3D Audio profile, if your on PS5. Depending on your in-ear hearing, type 1 is amazing for highly detailed headphones, and more bass heavy headphones or configurations should sound better with a lower option like type 5. Adjust these settings and go into the game and try out what sounds the most 3D to your hearing, and ignore the description that sony tells you about the 3D audio.

@@obama2795 Yes, it will be totally fine 😇 sound will still be clean and volume will be fine but on the lower side, it will not sound “LOUD” but it will be fine. The sound will not be as “CLEAN” and high quality sounding as if you were to be using DT990 Pro with a G3 or G6 dac but it will sound “fine” You will need more power to get more bass, midtone clarity and treble accuracy, the spacing in the audio making it sound 3D will be a little low, so it will sound more 3D with a DAC.

Did your headset come with an auxiliary adapter. My DT990 pros came with only amp ports

Soundblaster G3 for best quality, Controller for worse quality and TV for mid quality. Some gaming monitors have really bad audio processing so kinda depends on whice tv or monitor. I recommend the purchase of a Soundblaste G3 and then run my nice EQ for some neat bass boosting and clarity boost. Then there won’t be any better headphones on the market.

Yes, volume will only reach 85% however, and there will be a lack och punch and bass.

Soundblaster G3 is the name of the product you speak of, there is no Soundblaster Gx3 on the market, and yes its really good at improving audio quality. I can look into the Sharkoon Gaming Dac V3, I’ll contact you via these comments in a minute.

Part 2/ Sharkoon Gaming is a conterfeit product that uses poor audio quality boosting with other none functioning techniques and its very poor in the software aswell. Your safe bet is to go for a Soundblaster G3. The sharkoon gaming v3 is very heavily priced also… never buy the more expensive option… the sharkoon brand only gets you a 3-6% increase in volume, no actual better audio quality. I personally own a G3 and a G6 and the G3 is way better for PS5 gaming, and has a great mobile app to calibrate the audio to your needs. No matter the headset/headphone the G3 DAC will increase audio quality by upto 30% in most cases and can allow your headphones to produce more punchy bass and high quality sound effects. Overall you will be maxing out the sound of your PS5 with this unit.

@@benno.gfrt_ Yes! Plug it into a PC and install the Soundblaster App on your computer, make sure to update it to newest firmware. After that your gonna max out all settings on it and turn down the microphone volume to eliminate distorsion. My EQ is a litte hard to show from KZread, but I can sent a picture to you on Snapchat or Discord if you want my EQ. PS: the EQ is applied via the phone app, not the PC app.

@@benno.gfrt_ I also recommend that you leave the audio format on the DAC to Stereo and NOT surround. You will already be using a surround mix via the PS5 (Tempest 3D Engine) so don’t use both, the DACs surround sound is fine but the Tempest Audio on PS5 works way better and only works great on Stereo headphones. DT990Pro has a lack or punchy bass so my EQ fixes that issue without any distorsion, because of the flat eq that Beyerdynamics have baked into the headphones its no wonder how my EQ does it wonders.

Are the dt 990 pro/ dt770 pro the best value for the ps5 or should i buy the mmx 150?

DT990 Pro is good for a more open sound, and DT770 Pro has a little more thick bass and less outside sound interfering with your listening experience. MMX 150 is a newer model that I do not know anything about, let me check…

Okey Part 2. MMX 150 has basically the same audio drivers but a little worse in audio quality, if paired with a PS5 they will do just fine compared to a DT770 Pro because they are both closed back headphones, meaning they don’t leak audio to other people in the room as much and you can hear a little more bass. Also a huge plus that it has a mic!

My tip is to buy MMX 150 and a Soundblaster G3 to pair with it to get really insanely good audio. G3 needs a PC to update its software and needs a good EQ to drive your headphones/headset and I have a perfect one for you if you would want to upgrade down the line. A DAC or a soundcard (same thing) can make the headphones sound twice as precise and can give a way better audio experience. They work for all headphones, and make Beyerdynamic and other Studio brands headphones really shine in gaming.

Studio Headphones have the risk of sounding a little bit boring without a DAC/Soundcard and a good EQ. However for a normal human being, a MMX 150 would be an amazing pair of cans to game and listen to music! Wayyyy wayyyy better then all gaming headsets from Razer and Corsair and Logitech and HyperX.

@@kato9517 I currently use the cheaper Soundblaster G3, I actually found that it sounded better and had better EQ flexibility. And its way cheaper, I own a Soundblaster G6 aswell but its worse in audio quality. G5 and G6 are cash grabs. But I can still give you my guide for the G6.

You can but the audio quality would be like half of what it could have been. It runs at 16bit with a poor sample rate of 48.000hz. I recommend 24bit atleast and a 96.000hz sample rate. With a great EQ to boost bass and clear out the audio. A soundblaster G3 would change your life bro.

I have also learned twice as much about audio since I made this video, so its old news by now, but my new tips would be. NEW CONFIG! • always use ”type 3” with ALL Headphones. • use only stereo channel audio. • disable any virtual surround sound or sbx software. • run at max bit and sample rate Use a DAC like the Soundblaster G3 to maximize audio quality for cheap. These settings will provide an insane audio listening experience.

DT770 has a little more natural bass because of it being closed back headphones, but with a DAC like the soundblaster g3 the audio will become way better on the DT990Pro, WAYY better audio listening experience and the sound stage sounds super wide and open so it feels more real, with some great bass boost EQs on top of that and your gaming experience will never be the same. My recommendation for under $200 is DT990 Pro combined with Soundblaster G3. Amazing audio and music listening experience 💪😎 All of my friends are using that combo, after listening to my headphones with my supreme settings.
