You know, one very positive thing about Phil being stuck where he is on Level 1 forever is he is not able to give grief and misery to the people he would need to interact with working a real job. Hitting Master rank in this game is nowhere near as strict as achieving Master in SFV. You can hit Master even with a win rate below 50% so with enough grind and effort anyone can hit Master. It’s designed to keep new players active and playing instead of quitting the game like SFV which is something DSP did. I feel like compared to SFV’s rank system where you would be hard stuck in a rank, you could eventually hit higher ranks simply if you keep playing. If Max and DSP fought in SFV the skill gap would be wider, DSP could barely get out of Silver while Max hit Platinum.

@@Manglet762The rank system won’t change or reset it was intended to keep casuals and new players playing, they already confirmed this. Nobody wants to be hard stuck in a rank for seasons feeling like their skills aren’t improving. Worked in DSP’s favor since he quit SFV and was stuck in Silver. Max and DSP are nowhere near each other in skill level, but I feel like this game closes to skill gap a little.

Master Phil already proved the trolls wrong by ranking one character to Master. He’s playing at a high, competitive level with a premium fight stick. He was never outplayed by Ken. He literally never actually lost.

Truly to see Phil's apparent 'Master Rank Skill' in this game, you only really need to watch this one video.

Ken is strong but he does require more execution than blanka or honda. Remember he can't input DP consistently in sf2 and I doubt he can do any basic ken combos consistently.

Oh he will never play Ken guaranteed. His first loss would debunk everything he’s been saying. I disagree and think Ken is like top 5-6 easily but he’s not unbeatable the way Phil describes. A lot of his stuff like stand medium kick and medium+fierce are not safe but he would never point that out even if he did realize that.
