    Considering canon... that'd be more his final test: going a whole round against him and surviving. Teaching itself, he'd probably would be relatively hands off beyond the ocasional Sesion From Hell, probably setting you with some expectatives like killing an animal with your own fists

    In my opinion they never captured the glory of Ryu from the 90s and mid 2000s. He is kinda lame in some ways with lines like "the answer lies in the heart of battle. This is the way of the hado." He was more like a wise martial artist for real back in the day.

    @@ShiverwarJuri seems almost like she IS teaching you, but in the motivations she herself was thought. In all, her power and training was fueled by spite. While you're still on friendly student terms with you, Juri wants to instill her philosophy "if you wanna be strong, you gotta have someone you wanna beat at being stronger." If she can get you to see her as a superior to surpass, not just by respect, but by sheer spite, then you understand the core of her twisted version of taekwondo.

    Canonically you're the strongest new blood in the story so yeah learning every characters moveset and mashing them into one style is like your character's way of saying that you're the strongest dude around. Main protag is a legit hardworker.

    @@nightmarearcade2663 Not Blanka the character being racist in-universe, but the fact that the only Brazilian rep in the series at the time was "dumb feral jungle man." Granted, I'm not sure I'd call OG Blanka a racist caricature exactly, since I don't know any stereotypes about Brazilians that say they're green gorilla-men who spin-dash through the jungle, but that's probably what they were talking about.

    All of these are just the mc's first sparring match against them. If anything, the guy/gal being able to copy and adapt to any fighting style to the point of creating their own makes them a pretty broken character. Kinda reminds me of Garou from OPM

    Its funny that I actually cried while watching Honda's cutscene. I was a former rikishi in Japan, training to join the professional league before I had to leave due to familial responsibilities. I trained at the sumo school in Tokyo for almost a full year but had to drop out in the final few months. I was devastated giving up my dreams of becoming a true wrestler, but before I left my senpai told me something that I'll never forget. "No matter who you are or become, you will always be one of us. There's no shame in letting go, only shame in giving up who you are." (Translated of course) Considering me at 8 years old wanted to become a sumo wrestler because of E. Honda, to me actually living that short albeit cherished dream really hit me in the end, hearing him say that to me. "Nobody ever got strong without losing, don't lose hope."

    Well when you think about it treating fighting like dancing isn’t exactly that bad of an idea fighting has been described as a dance of death for hundreds if not thousands of years besides in many fights in both real life and fiction the step or attacks of a fighter can be compared to many musical beats most famously the iconic drum beat of Queens: we will rock you

    @@MT-jd8pc exactly, plus if we're really getting into the parallels of fighting and dancing, they both can be defined as improvisational, or spontaneous, because you never expect what moves you make or see, and it's all done to specific beats (timing) as well.

    Deejay has a good point, though. Fighters often respond to an unspoken natural rhythm. If you can't feel the rhythm as things happen around you, then how can you adapt?

    Protagonist is shaping up to be some final boss material if they ever made them into an actual character. He might not be the strongest fighter, but his shear adaptability and power/style accumulation is nothing to sneeze at.

    This really reminds me of Mortal Kombat's Konquest mode where you had Shujinko travelling across the realms meeting new characters and learning their movesets.NRS should really consider bringing back Konquest Mode alongside Kreate a Fighter.

To help him learn techniques and improve on them when he messes up so he can get better at it. Calling him a "dummy" the entire lesson isn't gonna magically make him a professional, that's just gonna tell him that he doesn't have a chance. You can't just offer to teach someone how to do something and then turn around and call them "dumb" for not immediately getting it first try, that's not how learning works. The disrespect you have to say that to someone when you were the exact same way when you first started out is just childish and proves you shouldn't be teaching anybody about anything💀

    I love these cutscenes! SO GOOD! Personally, my favorite is Dhalsim. I love "There is no need to rush. Listen to what your body needs." it's so profound and so kind. I'm so used to games being like "Well, I guess you're okay enough. Don't disappoint me." It's nice to hear a different tone ya know? Zangief, Honda, and Luke are amazing too! Kimberely is the only one that feels a bit to much like the style I mentioned before. She's not evil, but she tricked you into jumping off a building, like, girl, come on.

    In ryu scene, he make sure that his student does not trained with premise of hate and rush. The flower circling probably represent harmony of movement and also tells ryu that MC is really focused doing the kata. After that, ryu back to train his mind.

    I wonder if getting the DLC masters will require you to learn styles from other masters in order to unlock their styles. For example, getting Ed's style requires you to get JP's style as you need Psycho Power, you need Lily's style or apptitude of wind to get Rashid, and you need to unlock Ryu's techniques of Ansatsuken to get Akuma.

    Probably not a new take but I would love for Dan to be a teacher because in lore, apparently Saikyo is actually a really strong martial art if it wasn’t for Dan’s incompetence Of course he also combined it with some cruddy Ansatsuken, and (ironically) Muay Thai So if you give sir photogenic a Dan base and give him the actual Ryu/Ken moves (and Sagat if he comes out) he’s trying to imitate with the stuff unique to Dan, you can make a “true” Saikyo practitioner and show what Saikyo is really meant to be
