I just removed the lower panel but you cannot video it for others to see. However, my belt is going to need replacing so this is great!! Thanks!

I took the back piece off where the vent comes out. I was able to reach in and take out the thermostat and fuse that way. It really wasn't that confined and it saved me a ton of time by not pulling ther entire dryer apart. The way this is being done sounds more to me like they want to waste time so they can charge you more. The 2 parts together are around 30 bucks, which I replaced myself. I am not a technician, just a woman who learned alot from my Dad growing up.

I'm gonna try that! Thanks! (there is no way I'm going to open up the dryer from the front again.... last time took me forever!)

Thank you, the whole time he was taking all that apart I was like why can't you just pull off the back panel? Your way is the way I'll do it.

For future videos, I'd recommend a smaller frame (closer in shot); maybe some artificial light into the darker places. Each step seems easy to do, but there are a lot of steps. Recommendations for the do it your-selfer, take a picture with your phone or digital camera before you disconnect wires. Keeping track of different sized screws (and not losing any) seems to be the biggest challenge in home repairs.

Last year, the element burned out of my dryer (same one as in this video). This gentleman makes it look like it's a quick job. Took me quite a bit of time. After taking this dryer completely apart to change the element, I figured I would change the belt and the thermostat at the same time... why not a little tune-up to avoid having to open everything back up in a year or two. Less than a year later, what do you know!!! The new thermostat breaks! I'm going to try to access this thermostat from the rear to avoid removing all these panels AGAIN. What happened to a washer/dryer lasting 20+ years like the good ole days???!!!

A lot of work. All ya have to do is pull off the bottom panel and unscrew two bolts that contain the heater. Voila, access to the thermostat. This video does help me in case I have to tear it apart though!

Why in the world do they want you to take the dryer apart ? I just reached in and did it. It took a little time and patience, that’s all
