At first I watched another video that wanted me to take apart the whole dryer all the way down to and including the drum. So I watched a few more and finally found this one. You made it so easy to fix. Happy days are here again. My dryer works stellar. Thank you for the video.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I just fixed my dryer! My husband is going to be thrilled that we are not shelling out 600 plus dollars for a new dryer! I also cleaned out the duct with a long snaking brush I got on amazon that pulled out so much lint. There was loads of lint on the inside below the drum as well. I watched the same video you're referencing and thought "what the heck - why is this so complicated. This makes no sense." This video on the other hand seems reasonable and crystal clear.

This is awesome, I have a Maytag Epic Z which has the same design and part, but the other videos on here did not show anything but the high temp limit fuses which tested fine but then I order a kit that had all the parts and that should do it now that I know exactly where the fuse is located, apparently they are located in several different places on these high efficiency dryers.

Hello, Your video shows two red wires. My dryer has black and red and the part in the dryer itself is shaped differently than the new one. Part wp3390719. The fuse next to it has two green wires. I'm pretty sure this is the correct part. Just confused by the wires.

Came here from the website when i put in my dryer's model number (GEQ9800LW0) but this shows a completely different model. I still don't know how to get this dryer apart

Anyone know the name of the part next (on the right) to the thermal fuse being replaced?

what is the removable part just below the fuse?[attatched with 2 screws] I have continuity on the fuse you replaced but am wondering if its the other thing cause there is no continuity on it .

The one next to it is a thermistor. It tells the dryer what temperature it is. It may not read continuity but if you put your meter on ohms it should give a reading relative to its temp. You can check the dryer wiring diagram for what it is supposed to be. They may vary but it should be around 10,000 ohms at room temp, 78 degrees.

Yeah im having the same problem as the last guy. There is a line of lights, the top most says sensing. I believe it senses the dryness level of the clothes. as it becomes more dry it changes to the next level. Mine, just as the last guy stated, is staying on "Sensing." We, as in me and the other guy D'z Jammz would like to know if this is a symptom of such a fuze. or not. What other system symptoms would you have other than running cold? do any lights or indicators point to the problem or do i just change my fuze and cross my fingers? Because my dryer works fine as far as it tumbles and blows....but no heat. and what if my heater core is bad? how do i tell if its one fix or the other?

You can test the fuse for continuity, it should have it. If it is bad make sure you check and clean the dryer vent as a restricted vent is usually the cause.

vent is clean. i also found the unplugged wires for the sensor and plugged them back in. they are part of the same wire harness you work on in this video. sensor now changes from sensing to wet to damp etc...etc... The sensor wires look like they are hanging, but They go up to the lint trap. I have a handyman coming to the house tomorrow morning he is going to inspect the dryer and hopefully repair it.

Yes 1/4 inch nut driver.

I was disappointed that I couldn't get the perspective of where the fuse was located, but I did see a hole in the white sheet metal. I guess the fuse is located just behind the sheet metal. I did like the close ups but I would rather have seen it zoom out or in to get that perspective. Each Duet model seems to be slightly different.

mine it drys but it skip the time . I have it up for one hour and in 5 minutes it jumps to six minutes. what would it be i change the little bars but it keeps doing the same help me please

Are you asking how to remove the storage drawer assembly?

Is this a cause a dryer that take longer to dry because one half of the heater is working but other part is not . P?? And can I check this with a meter first ? B

+Michael Cornwell This is a thermal fuse, it is a one time use. If the dryer overheats it blows and the heat is cut off. You can test it for continuity, it should have it, if not it is bad. Most times they go due to bad venting, but not always. So clean all the venting and check for good air flow. If the element is bad and is only half on you may have multiple problems. So pull the element and visually check for damage and test it for continuity.

I am not sure what you mean by sensing. This is a thermal fuse, it goes bad if it over heats. You can also post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem. forum.appliancepartspros.com/

Take heed of running the dryer with a jumper cable attached to the thermal fuse leads, which I did to doublecheck it was the thermal fuse that was the problem. I left the leads touching the bottom of the dryer. POOF! Big spark/flash, and then the dryer would do nothing. I fried the $250 control board. :-(
