I've seen him on a 6 piece when he was younger and he uses a second pedal sometimes.

This dude is so damn fun to watch. As far as interruptions go... isn't that the point of a REACTION video? I certainly prefer that to talking over the performance.

Most people don’t have much to say about El Estepario because we are all truly in awe. EVERYONE starts out like, “ok let’s check this guy out” which quickly turns into silence followed by “WTF??” followed by a huge smile. And again I say to the world “WTF??”. Here is a human being truly showing that the impossible is possible - or at least possible for some!

When the fill is so badass that all you can manage to do is laugh like a crazy person.

The man is a beast. His playing has everything for me. Groovy af. Complex and intricate at times, simple and 100% on point at others. Clearly talented to an insane degree but also clearly someone who has committed time. Wish I was in his band!! Oh, the reaction vid was killer too mate!!

Watching that dude over the last year, he's become my new favorite drummer to watch.

I love it when you're like "No!" I have watched this at least 50 times and that is my favorite part, every time. LOL!

There are a ton of channels all over the world reacting to vids and speaking in English to reach full audience. You're the first English speaker based channel I saw speaking in Spanish when addressing the original creator on Spanish, his native language. Kudos to that. El Estepario is great on more levels other than drumming, and you took the time to analyze some of them. Nice reaction/analysis vids man

What makes it even cooler is that spanish is a very rarely learnt language in nz. I dont think it was offered as a language at any of my schhols, nor do i think i know anyone whos made an effort to learn it.

I don't even need to be a drummer to say that this video here doesn't show anything that pushes the envelope in drumming. It's just very tasteful and very good drumming. Put it doesn't "move what is possible on a drumkit" as you put it. Plain and simple. And like I don't need to be a chef to taste that something is good I don't need to be better than this guy to state what i stated.

What's impressive here is the combination of technicality and style - relaxed but always on point. I laughed at the same exact spot when you took your headphones off 😵🙃

I only just found him recently through instagram, and I admit I have no clue on drums but this guy kicks ass, made me follow his drumming. Love his skate style too haha. I like how people say he overplays stuff. Isn't it just awesome to watch? haha :D

I love this guy!!! What he does with a 3 piece is phenomenal!!! I’m a 25+ year singer/songwriter, and have never had a drummer anywhere near this caliber.

To those who are not aware, his KZread name means "The Siberian Stepper" ....a funny play on the Russian region's name. His actual name is Jorge Garrido. A truly gifted drummer, with few equals now or previous.

That's a great idea! But I love the bare basic kit.

I dont know whats more appealing, his execution of those fills or how good the EAD makes them sound on the snare/kick/floor tom combo! Well I do know, but both are sublime. I've never seen someone improve upon a Danny Carey track.

His beats are so in tune with the singer and guitarist. No words.

One of the things he overwhelms us all is the dinamycs. He makes a 3 piece set of drums feel like any other

it's like every drum lesson he's ever had, he's said: "Oh. I can make that easier..." Dude is the Victor Wooten of drums: showing us that double thumb slap bass is even possible... This incredible human--it pains a misanthrope to say--is showing us a whole new level of what is possible on the drums. Kids these days... their lead-free brains and internet nativity, with access to all the world's knowledge since birth, are learning in minutes what used to be closely guarded secrets.... remember when guitarists would turn around during solos, so that no one could see how they were making those sounds? now those techniques and sounds are broken down and spelled out by a multiplicity of teachers eager for an audience... we gave everyone in the world roughly equal access to fame (compared to old-school radio) and we are getting back in return the same results as the MMA: deadlier musicians, who can do in their sleep, what we only dreamed of...

Everytime I watch him play anything, I always think of how Bruce Lee reinvented martial arts by being more technically sound and almost as fast as the body would allow under control. He really does blow my mind

I had given up on drumming, after a earthquake in Christchurch but decided after looking at kit and fun memory's, to do sum rudiments etc and see what's happening online? came across this guy El Amazing ill be dead by the time I get to his standard but he's got me going joy. Don't forget he only has 2 drums to hit with his sticks. His dynamic range in tones are, and always will be limited when he plays on such a small kit.
