About the boots. My grandfather and his brothers had a band in the 1930's. They rehearsed in the cowshed and therefore had to wear rubber boots. And when they played gigs, the drummer was known to wear a suit and rubber boots because he got thrown off if the right boot shaft wasn't hitting his calf. =D

The Dominator truly dominates! I'd love to see a reaction on Neurosis. It's rarely done and if you'd search for "Neurosis - Locust Star Live Ozzfest 1996" you'll know what I mean. It's a percussive dream.

that song alone is what got me into Neurosis, then Isis, then cult of luna, and now sludge has taken over my life. Such deliberate, clear groove. as far as "intention" goes for the idea of a band, I cant find a single thing to dislike about Neurosis. such

Axis pedals are actually known for having a very light feel and almost only being used in combination with triggers (not that I'm against triggers, it's just a fact), Czarcye Kopyto or Trick are more of a heavy duty pedal

He has his own albums where he plays most everything. My 15 year old son is quickly becoming one of these. blows my mind. I thought I was a descent drummer until I saw how quickly he learned the drums and then learned about 10 other instruments in short order. Axis pedals are known for their speed and typically used in metal drumming but there have been some Renown musicians outside of metal that uses them such as John Blackwell rest in peace. :') Axis have inspired a trend of longboard and direct drive pedals that came to be so popular again in metal majorly haha. Such as trick, czarcie kopyto, pearl demon drives, etc. But axis remain the definitive in speed! And probably the lightest. A couple musicians have their own signature models even such as George Kollias and Derek Roddy. 👌

@@AndrewRooneyDrums If you've come across enough questions to make a video, then why not? As long as you aren't being insulting then it should either be accepted or just ignored. I think that a lot of appeal to reaction videos comes from crossing bridges and seeing people from different walks of life appreciating forms of music that they may otherwise not be exposed to. I'm not sure that a video about why someone's favorite style of music isn't that great may work so well, but a video about what inspires you may. You could show the fanbase what great music caused you to bang on pots and pans and pretend that you were a drummer until you got your first kit and became a real drummer. That's why I kind of just wanted a response via text. Just a simple, "Yeah sometimes," may work better than a video saying, "Those bands that tons of people have been asking for kind of suck."

Gene Hoglan wears boots too but his power is just unmatched and using normal pedals. Not to mention the precision. The level of speed for that amount of time that Nils presents is nearly unattainable without the triggers

  • @brutaldudeski

The boots are kind of irrelevant in this context because the way metal drummers hit uses so much muscle memory and physics of the pedal it all boils down to what you prefer!

Definitely on the podium of 'holy shit, thats fast as f#@k'. Not my cup of teas this type of drumming but damn this is impressive. Big fan of Gene and Frost but I'm not into the black metal stuff much more these days, so don't keep up with the new breed of drummers.

He is not really a drummer that I find impressive besides for his speed, stamina, and regularity which are incredible. The important here is to create a cold wall of sound and he does that perfectly, not all drummers have to be extremly technical and play intricate things, the important is that it fits the music. I just can't imagine how he can hold a full concert at this speed, this is incredible. If you want incredible speed and power with a but more technic you shoud heck Kevin Paradis playing Sensory Amusia - Pain: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l56uzaahoaS2erA.html
