    This is actually a good idea with the clamps. Or you just have a second person push the upper part of the shoes towards the cylinder. I find it also easier to put the shorter end of the spring in last. I watched other videos and I do not believe that they were able to put the spring in as easy as it looked. And this was not my first drum shoe job.

    Hi Danny, amazing job step by step very close and clear video, I changed my civic 2007 rear break using your clamps trick , however i noticed after installing the passenger side rear breaks that the big spring should have been installed the other way, short side should have been on the left side , I did it the same way in the video but this way the spring blocked the break adjust wheel, what do you think should I change it or keep it as is?

    Thank you for the video. I changed the pad after watching your video today. After the replacement, the brake pedal goes deep and it doesn't brake well. What's the problem? The piston fell out a few times and the brake liquid flowed. Is that the reason? Or is it wrong to assemble it?

  • @dannysdiygarage

    @dannysdiygarage

    2 жыл бұрын

    Air in the brake system, you must not have used the clamps which prevent this, not to worry, You need to bleed the brakes, but most likely buy two new wheel cylinders and install them then bleed the brakes. Also make sure your brake shoes are on correct, let me know how it goes

    @@dannysdiygarage thaks for replying. I checked again and found that the assembly was wrong. The lower part of the shoe was not exactly assembled. The problem disappeared after removing the air. Thank you so much.

    Wish I had found this video before I did my brakes, my cylinder popped out, the spring gave me hell, ended up making a mess with the oil. I learned a lot but this way it’s a lot easier. Definitely will use clamps next time, and the spring was genius.

    Drum brakes will self adjust each time you back up and apply the brakes. no need for alot of adjusting. You can have that drum spin free with zero drag and your good. The brakes will self adjust.

  • @dannysdiygarage

    @dannysdiygarage

    7 ай бұрын

    You’re correct brakes will self adjust as long as they’re working properly unfortunately they don’t always work as they should, the adjuster gets dirty, rusty and can stick or seize and when that happens you’ll need to clean and adjust the brakes ❤ Grate comment❤
