I never thought I would be laughing my head off watching someone cut metal and weld. You two manage to make that happen. 🤣😂🤣😂 Lydia had me going with her dance moves in the background. And Jim trying to defend ( he had already convinced me) his welding 😂 You make me want to go weld something and I don't even know how. Inspirational how you tackle crafts you haven't done before and stay at it until your proficient.

When using a torch set remember to only turn on the acetylene 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. If things go wrong you need to be able to shut that bottle off extremely fast.

I love watching y'all work together on your projects. Seems like Big Red was the perfect tractor choice.

If you jack one end of the container, the jack is lifting half the total weight of the container. (Assuming the container has uniform mass distribution, which it basically does if it's empty).

Nice Tractor - again - My green one is 1/3 that size with no enclosure....but hey it works for this 73 year old granny....I mainly move around natural cedar mulch...I did put in a stone create driveway 300' or so...thanks for the video....

I had some guys get some horrible 3rd degree sunburns on their legs from doing extensive welding while wearing shorts! Shorts and welding is a NO NO.. although laying on your stomach while welding does keep your legs away from the welding! LOL

Y'all are the most. I love watching these peojects. Jim, RVs are junk. They're made of the lightest, cheapest material supplied by the lowest bidder. Those axles are no exception. That's why the weld cracked. It waz designed to support a camping trailer not a hootis and container. Y'all made another fine Cajun Country installation.

Add hydraulic grout under plate in gaps between concrete and plate. Also you should have cleaned the container tie down blocks before lowering and used a weldable primer.

Jim, magnatism can be negated by 3 wraps of the lead around the pipe.& a scallop cut on the end of the larger pipe would hsve been the trick.

You are right, metallurgy, stress, load, and magnetism may play a part in the weld failure. But the condition of existing material and weld size also come into play here. Your weld looked very concave, and it looked like you welded it downhand which makes me think 6010? Also wearing shorts while welding is a bad idea lol. Might want to put some clothes on lol. The project looks like fun. I enjoyed the video thanks guys.

Hey Jimbo and of course our lovely Lydia, why dont you see if you have the ability to either borrow, hire or buy some Skates, 4 Industrial Skates and you could roll the Containers around like a Billy Cart.

You’re a lucky man Jim to have Lydia to help you with these projects brother!

I had a tornado and lost a bunch of tree branches and out of power for four hours, nothing like 2020 with two hurricanes back to back 6 weeks apart! I lost power for 12 days and lost my workshop, 11 trees and my chain link backyard fence! Insurance really did it to me and I still don’t have a workshop and everything I had in my shop has been in my garage since!

Liked the "confused banjo music" at 22:15 with Big Red.

Nailed it! Nice landing. I knew you could do it.

Take the ground lead and wrap it around the pipe 5-7 times then weld the upright tuning. It’ll help with the magnetized material properties and retain better crystal structure of the bonding area.

That storm the other day was pretty intense, I'm just down the interstate in Pensacola, FL, was a few tornadoes near me, but luckily it avoided my hose, and no one was hurt by any of the damage. Anyhow, glad y'all are safe.

First, "Welcome to the goat owners family!". Ya'll do know goats are escape artist so make sure you have good fences. General rule of thumb is, if fence will hold water, it should hold a goat.😂Now, I think "Big Red" did a fine job and Gus was a great supervisor. Lydia, on the other hand. Well, she went to sleep on top the UTV while you were cutting the plates Jim, so you need to dock her pay.😁

Hi Lydia and Jim, great seeing y'all today! My gosh, everytime I see Ladly she seems bigger. I loved her braids, she is such a cutie. The banter back and for between you two was hilarious. I thought you would have made the base plates extend out on two sides so it could be welded down two sides! And definitely run two passes showing on both sides!

Before doing your layout lines, what was running the torch over the area for? I will say that bead on the cart looked kinda thin for the torsion that could be applied.

Jim was burning away the paint so the lines we drew would stay when it got heated instead of flaking off with the paint. 😄

Hi Dave! Lydia went to welding school for welding & pipe fitting. Jim has been welding since he’s been able to hold a welding rod in his hand haha.
