Let me be clear ... there are NO RULES AND REGULATIONS CONCERNING FILMING. That's it. We do not live in a country like North Korea, where camera ownership is strictly controlled. We do not live in the sort of country where EVERYTHING is unlawful unless a specific law allows you to do something. We live in a country where NOTHING is unlawful unless there is a specific law forbidding it. This subtle but critical point is the basis of all law and citizen rights in this country. It's also amazing how many cops seem to think the former. Meanwhile this PCSO is the sort of Old Skool Idiot who was brought up to "Never Question, Just Obey", so he probably thinks that he has managed to make it to the top of the pile where he can ignore all of those 'imagined laws' that he spent a lifetime obeying and now he can do as he wants. That's why he is wrong person for the job. Most PCSOs are thick as mince and best ignored if they try to start a conversation with you in the street.

That footage should be used in PCSO Training under the “how not to interact with the public” section. What a tool. I’m betting he makes up all sorts of rules and regulations of his own design to force his own implied sense of authority on people who he’s dealing with. He needs carpeting and shown the door immediately. This is a perfect representation of the type of person who shouldn’t have any authority given to them whatsoever. Great video as usual, love the editing and the inclusion of the night shots. You’re fast becoming the No 1 auditor in my book.

The people who dialled 999 for this really should be the ones warned by the police of their conduct and that such use of emergency services is the only illegal part of the whole encounter.

Male PCSO should be dismissed for falsifying his own made up version if the law to intimidate and coherce the drone operator into deleting footage under threat of private prosecution. So the moral of this story is don't ever assume that just because someone is wearing a police uniform, that they know the law, will give you accurate information or will act within the law. These auditors do a great job not only exposing the woeful incompetence of some police staff but also by demonstrating knowledge truly is power.

Sad thing is most and I would say 95% of the police had no idea of the law, they spout laws, without fully understanding them, painfully unaware of rules and regulations, many are just on a power trip, and using the uniform as a means to bully people, these and many others videos showing the bullying tactics and lack of knowledge and in some case really vindictive attitude towards the people they are supposed to serve.

The actual constable was clueless as well. It amazes me how so many of them have no idea about basic laws. And more so how willing they are to make it up when they don’t know. It seems a rule that Police have extreme low general knowledge of how a democracy is organized and their own place in it: 1. Police is a legal enforcer of the state monopoly of violence. 2. The violence monopoly can only be enforced within the law. Deleting private films would be a breach of Human Rights - if not ordered by a court. The same is the case of using force for “seeing the film”. The Police is evidently out of control and hence reality reflects what’s called a Police State, wherein the violence threat is abused.

I suspect that he absolutely believed what he was saying was correct. It is not his fault that he has been grossly misinformed. He displayed the body language of somone who knew he was wrong but wasn't wanting to esculate to the highest level. He just wanted to stand his ground with the information he had. Still, he didn't want to check his beliefs of the situation before calling for a police constable. In my opinion he should not be in that job because he was dictating incorrect laws to members of the public.

RIPA stands for Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. It was introduced to provide guidance for the Police, Government Agencies, Local Authorities etc who undertake surveillance of individuals / suspects /criminals. In general it requires those who are undertaking surveillance to justify why they doing so and requires authorisation by a senior officer in the respective organisations. It definitely does not apply to individual members of the public. The PCSO was talking bollocks.

That pcso was embarrassing with his made up laws and “regulations” and his threat of being fined hundreds of thousands of pounds was just a joke. The worrying thing is he seemed to be actually believing what he was saying and the female probably believed him aswell 🙄

The ICO can only fine a company or a business (trading styles) or a organisation. Its upto 4% of annual turnover to a maximim of a million £GBP. The ICO can not fine or enforce upon a natural living person. Police can NOT arrest you a person (NLP) for GDPR / DPA issues, there is no such law.

The PCSO has basically threatened you. If you had of complied and deleted he would have deprived you of something ie footage, without legal reason solely because he threatened you with deprivation of liberty, violence etc. He needs a bollocking from his boss, a nice letter written by him of apology and a few quid in compo.

That was a brilliant interaction. Shows how people spout nothing, appertaining to law. Just feelings. One of the best I've seen, and I've seen loads of this type of thing.

Yeah this one was mad as a box of frogs. If you watch carefully when the second guy arrives (actual cop not pcso) - he has his hands on his cuffs, like they do before they are about to grab you and slap them on. I reckon I talked him out of doing it

Just after 8 mins, yellow bib man blatantly lied to the 999 caller. No drone licence etc. This is wrong. The thing wasn't even up in the air. This was caused by the bloke in the white shirt.

@@stuartbrown8259 In that situation the minute he leaves the site (the private property) and tries to act as if he has any authority on the public street he is guilty of impersonating a security guard.. his job and authority end at the gate.

This is scary, scary that a person considered and viewed as a person with authority can be so far wrong, yet claim without doubt that you will be arrested and charged. I believe this is beyond gross misconduct, male PCSO was stating completely false information and making no effort to try and remain impartial and investigate. This is a disgrace. Please complain via every available avenue. He needs to go, he's in the wrong line of work. I expect better from the british police! - side note, female PCSO... you should have stopped this as you witnessed it all, please do better in future.

Absolute madness, real criminals must be rubbing their hands in glee.

That cop's understanding of photography law is one of the reasons i started watching these kinds of videos. When you're engaged in public photography and are approached by police or security often they just want to you to go away. If you don't know the law and your rights they can say whatever they like to make it seem like you're doing something wrong, to get you to stop and go elsewhere.

How is "being forced to delete video" not EXACTLY the same as "destroying evidence"?

Tresspass is a civil matter. Airspace is not controlled by a business. A balloon or helicopter does not need permission to fly over a business.

There's also that thing called the internet where you can search for things and educate yourself. These people prefer to make up laws that suit their own agenda. Tax payers money shouldn't be wasted on morons like these.

Imagine if they came out and asked you for free footage to promote their business, that would be a refreshing change 😁

Cops (or fake cops) just making up their own laws should be an instant dismissal. It's so far over the bounds of what polcoe should do that it should be seen as gross misconduct.

Police forces across the UK need educating ASAP on drone flying and drone laws. Unbelievable

This is the best audit i have watched!

Watching this PCSO talk nonsense so confidently was hilarious but very concerning. Most people don’t know the law so could easily fall victim to the unlawful demands made by this clueless man. The female talked more sense than him.

Funny how the police will turn up for something like this but you try and get them attend a real crime !

Keep up the good work,love your video's.And because people like you,and the other auditors have learnt people like me (drone owner ) less nervous about flying within what you can and cannot do.
