I find it utterly unbelievable that a supposedly serious journalist would do this trip and NOT A WORD about tyres !
Importantly, it isn't a toy car. It's road legal. MPG depends on how the car is driven. The next version had dual clutch, and cross wind assist. Maybe useful in bad weather.
