Within this video are 2 requests from my subscribers.
One to do a driving video from Wroxham to Coltishall and the second, to film Horstead Mill ruins and lock.
Requests were something I did in December in the run up to Christmas.
I hope you enjoy this video,
Thank you for watching.

I would love to see the locks and the Bure Valley Navigation restored and re-opened, it would be great to take our boat up there.

That was great Lisa, you seem to have had a nice day weather wise, here in Manchester it's been very foggy, took my dog in the local park and it was quite eerie to see disembodied heads moving about just above the layer of fog on the field, couldn't see the dogs below it, it was very strange, should have filmed it, thanks again for a smashing video 👻👻🐕🐕

Thank you Lisa. I've already commented on Horstead Mill on one of your other videos. I will say again that the mill was magnificent and an absolute jewel in the broads crown. I last saw it just a few months before it was destroyed by fire during that bad winter of 63. I can remember mum telling me back home in Nottingham. Such a shame. In those days you could moor in the channel leading to the lock. I think the depth is insufficient now. The last time I was moored at Coltishall common the Rising Sun pub was pink not cream lol. The most similar location to Coltishall lock I can think of is Geldeston Lock on The river Waveney. It too was damaged in the same way and was never repaired. So the Wherries never went to Bungay again. There have been rumours in the past about opening the navigation to Bungay again. I thought it was a good idea but as far as I know it never happened. The Locks Inn by the lock used to be famous for being lit by candlelight.

Hi Lisa. There's a nice piece on the bbc home page about Berney Arms. Thought you might be interested. Short extract below. The Norfolk hamlet of Berney Arms was once home to a small but thriving community of 11 families. Today, it lies empty but for an unused pub, an RSPB centre, a closed marsh mill and a railway station. What was it like to live there and what does its future hold?

@@NewnameSameme Yes the Internet has transformed the world without a doubt. The data mining and cavalier approach of some platforms have, in the past, put me off signing up. Would you believe I used to work in IT too, sounds a bit unbelievable yeah? Anyway I don't have much to say and precious few people to say it to if I did. I get by with a phone call, txt and email. I suppose that makes me a bit of a dinosaur lol. Looking forward to your next film. Oh yes, be great if they could get the pub running again.
