the old interior build quality gets pretty bad so get ready to hear creaking plastic and a few things u will have to replace, such as the window control rubber and seats after a while, also my c5 has random electrical gremlins like one headlight opening when i turn them on or one staying open when i close them. over all the c5 is a capable fun daily but can get a little annoying sometimes lol

Talking about MPGs, I get about 13 in my '96 C4 😂. It could definitely get better if I didn't drive in the city so much.

I drive my C5 to work all work week and on the weekends. For a 2001 I'm almost at 80,000 miles. Slightly modified but still civilized to drive all day. Not loud at all. Im not a fan of all that noise for a daily.

@@JeepinJimmy I know some would frown on it but I actually went with a basic stainless steel long tube header off of eBay. Didn't cost hundreds of dollars at all. I had jet hot spray them to help keep the heat down and protect from rust over time. I have the mid pipe also with high flow cats. I kept my stock cat back for weight and less daily noise. All bolt up no welding just in case I need to get to parts for repairs over time. I even bought a heat shield for my starter because it sits directly above the down pipes of the long tubes. Under the hood just MSD coils and wires. AC Delco iridium spark plugs. All aluminum radiator that holds an extra gallon of coolant. LSX intake. BBK throttle body. A basic Large opening cold air intake that sucks air from outside via my two vents next to my fog lights.... ( I cut them open ). Ebay to the rescue again with the basic cheap split intake that sits just at the nose of my Corvette. Had the car tuned for the minor mods and she runs great. Pulls harder up in the rev range for a 4 speed automatic. Yes it's a 4peed auto for daily driving. Throttle response is very quick. Just enough low end grunt to get you out of the hole on the street without your tires going up in smoke if you don't like that. Super easy to drive. Just point and shoot and she moves!!!! Sounds good. Most of the sound is from the intake not from the exhaust. I can have a conversation with my wife at speed. Sitting in traffic I have no heat issues plus it's quiet. I can listen to my sound system at a regular volume. Very comfortable but if I want to get on it then it kicks down a gear and goes. I know stock I did consistent 13.4sec 1/4 all day in the summer heat back in the day. I haven't had a chance to test it at the track yet but I do know my 0-60mph dropped from a stock 4.9 to a 4 flat. I'm happy with that performance. Daily drives all day in the heat , rain with the AC on no issues. Pulled strong up to 150mph before my common sense kicked in but the car was still pulling moderately stronger than stock. Faster hellcats and newer tech mustangs cars out there but I'm happy with what I have plus I have the car title in my bedroom drawer. No car payments!!!! Garage kept. Wash, detail and spray wax weekly. I love my red interior !! I'm very happy with my basic dream car and I didn't break my bank account to do it. I love the 88 mile trip south to Daytona international speedway each year to watch the Rolex 24 sports car race. Gives me an excuse to open her up at speed. I'm a big Corvette Racing fan.
