Great series of videos about your budget-built Fridge/Crown Vic frame swap. I'm watching these videos as I have everything together to start doing one myself and will be addressing some of the same issues that you tackled. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Wayne. Greetings from California U.S. I’ve watched this series of videos about half a dozen times. Getting ready to start the Crown Vic swap on my 59 F-100 long box. I definitely appreciate the insight into some of the things that seem commonly overlooked. This truck is a masterpiece and I can only hope when I am finished with mine it will be somewhere in the same ballpark.

Have some questions when it comes to thinning the harness. I don’t see a way to send a private message on KZread. 🤔

How's the tire clearance? I built a 58. But I just used the front subframe. I had rear tire clearance issues with the aftermarket rims. And used a earlier rear to fit them. Now I have a 2009 CVPI. And I know where a nice 59 f100 is.

I made a tool to pry out the rear wheel wells. I gained a little better than an inch clearance on each side. I have no clearance issues, but if it was a couple of inches lower, the rear tires would probably rub.

Actually I do have an extra driver side door, passenger side fender and a tailgate. The door and fender are in good shape, but the tailgate is really rough. If you're interested, send me an email at janzen.wayne@gmail.com, and I'll send you some pictures.

Hi Wayne, Really like your F100. Have had 3 1959-1960 vintage f100'sover the years. All were stock. I now have a 1957 F100 panel on a Lincoln mk8 chassis. Kind of a different build. It has the 32 valve Intech 4.6 engine and all the mk8 suspension, firewall, seats dash ,etc. Just got it started this week, and hope to have it driveable soon. Your truck looks like it is a blast to drive. What kind of fuel mileage does it get? Do you run premium or midgrade in it?

Using an mk8 chassis is definitely unique. Should be pretty cool when you're done. Thanks for the compliments on my truck. It is a lot of fun to drive. I just use regular gas. The gas mileage is actually pretty good. I've never actually checked, but I'm guessing I'm getting about 25mpg (imperial gallons) on the highway.

Hi Robert, I wish I would have got your message a couple of days ago. I was at a car show in Nelson BC this weekend, and I'm sure I talked to a guy from Vancouver that had a crown Vic front swap done. I would have asked him who did it for him. I don't know of anyone in Vancouver that does these swaps, but if I was you, I would ask around at speed shops and body shops that specialize in custom vehicles. I would also ensure that whoever did the job had a welding ticket. If I was doing the swap for myself, I would probably do all the work myself except the welding and have a journeyman welder do it for me. I would not be comfortable doing the swap for someone else. Another thing I would do is talk to the inspector that would be inspecting the vehicle for licensing before doing the work. Technically you need to get an inspection done in bc if you're modifying a vehicle like this. If you already have papers for your 60, I suspect you could get away without having it inspected, but if you were in an accident after doing the swap ICBC might have an issue with the swap. Good luck with getting the swap done. Sorry I can't be of more help.
