Question. Because I am truly special when it comes to being my own mechanic, I bled the brakes when I installed Braded lines while the caliper was off the bike 😓. So before I was putting the rear caliper back on, I pushed the piston all the way in. But, still, When the pads are in there and in place, when the wheel goes back on the pads are running against the rotor and there's no room. Literally the piston is all the way in and flush and still no room. Do I just need a new rear brake caliper? Don't know why it doesn't fit anymore.

You should never touch the brake pedal or lever when the caliper is off the bike. If the piston is all the way in and you are unable to slide the caliper over the rotor with the pads installed you need to verify you have the correct pads and rotor before you do anything else. Odds are the remedy for this will be simple in the end. Unfortunately this is not something I can solve for you over KZread comments. - Van

I couldn't find any info elsewhere on your bike build, I see you're running 120/70/17 Front , 150/60/17 Rear. Im curious on 120/70 vs 120/60 on the front , the latter is less out of spec, but also shorter, which they say can make the curve of the tire flatter, hence harder to initiate steering... Thoughts?

We have tried the 120 and 150 combo on the R3 as well as the 110 and 140 combo. IMO the 110 and 140 combo is the right set up for the R3 and the Ninja 400. We have a lot of time on both with Max. - Van

Does it matter if you put the rear axle in the other way, i see you inserted it in from the left to right, i installed it right to left wondering if its worth the effort to switch it around again? thanks

I flipped the axles on the R3 and the Ninja 400 so the axle nuts were both on the left side. It made changing tires all the time much easier. - Van
