Driven Fox Hunt with Miroku Mk70 Max5 Camo 12G and Beagles Victoria 01/08/2021

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Slipped into the creek mud twice, trying to shoot on one knee, cut hand on a fence. And missed a sitter. Great days.

Enjoy your videos mate, some good shots and some not so good, like the majority of us! Always have a giggle when I read the 'advice' from people who never miss a fox. Great little dogs you've got in the crew too😉

Great footage as always, tricky spot to keep hidden and still be able to shoot / film. Keep up the good work!

I just hate getting put on a peg I can't shoot safely from. Was it so dead against shoot rules that you couldn't stand in the field instead of risking life, limb and laundry on the slippery slope to the ditch? (metaphor for life in general that that may be!)

This type of hunting is not like that. Every position is a compromise. I had to show another guy his peg and slipped on the way in and slipped on the way out. I didn't film me pulling the mud out off both barrels or cleaning the camera. Then I had to cover the fence, the creek and the paddock. This isn't Wild Hog Fever with my own Hochsitz and cameraman lol!

As a matter of interest bud, what shot size are you using and on what choke? (I guess 28" barrel?) Many thanks J

Must be the thick winter coats. They took some #2 lead alright. Sort of wishing I had the tungsten again because they would have dropped on the spot.

Hi Charlie, have you ever wished that little red dot wouldn't show up on vids so the couch potatoes dont run the ruler over the shots?, ie too much lead, too high, not enough lead ect lol, anyway hope you had a good outing..

Absolutely. OTOH that's precisely the point of the Shotkam - post-shot analysis. It lets you fix what you should have done in your mind's eye. Sharing lets others learn from it too.

I can turn the dot off but it wouldn't give anybody anything to complain about. Nobody is interested behind the scenes trying to keep the rain off the camera, pull the mud out of the barrels, trying to conserve the batteries. And I generally get stuck in the crappy spots which means by the time I've seen the fox, its seen me and ready to do a ubolt as I'm trying to turn the cameras on. Slowing it down to 1/24 speed so people can see what happened makes 1/4 of a second last 6 seconds, and everybody likes given their opinion during that 6 seconds. And foxes are tough, just like sambar, they aren't ducks.
