True, and he seemed to get along with his nephews more than his brother and sister, and during training you can see whose teaching him criston who hates rhaenyra and her kids, he gets perks and less responsibly, I do wish we’d seen rhaenyra and aegon interact, also feel if she interacted more with her brothers, things could have been more different between them

Also, Vhagar is 180 years old, girl was ridden by one of Aegon the Conqueror's sisters for the first time. Traditionally, dragonriders are the ones who only bond to one dragon during their lifetime, whereas dragons can be old af.

True, dragons can bond with more than one rider --- Balerion, Caraxes... They all have more than 1 rider in their lifetime.

There is a connection between size and age. The dragons are like...lobsters. They never stop growing so long as they have free range and can get food. Vhagar is an old, old, dragon. She was flown by Visenya during the conquest a century ago. She's 170+ in the show. Balerion died at over 200 years of age, too big to fly and live.

Balerion would have survuved longer had he not been kept chained in the dragon pit for 40 or so years. He didn’t get to fly and eat as he wanted and without the freedom to roam - but still keeping on growing - he couldn’t support his own weight anymore.

@@Alexander-kc8oq Yeah. After Maegor, Balerion was considered a bad luck. Because people were too traumatized after watching Maegor fly the Black Dread and burn everyone. But it could also be due to the 1 year when Rhaena disappeared with him and Balerion returned with deep wounds that never healed.

They are much lower in strength. Aemond has military training and Rhaena/Baela are highborn maidens. Criston was focusing training on Aegon and Aemond primarily, so Jace and Luke don't have the strength or ability of Aemond. You could see him bobbing and weaving during the fight, skillfully evading most of what the group was throwing at him. He was never really in danger and never displayed any fear either; Aemond didn't "have" to do anything of the sort.

Another quick thing, Vhagar is a female dragon, and since Balerion is dead at this point, she's the biggest and oldest dragon in the world. Vhagar was originally ridden by Visenya Targaryen, one of Aegon the Conquerer's sister-wives. This puts her at about 170+ years old, while Balerion died at 200 years

The girl had an opportunity to claim Vhagar earlier and never took it. Aemond went to Vhagar (without knowing that it was necessarily Vhagar there), and Vhagar CHOSE Aemond. Aemond didn't take anything. And then those kids attacked him out of spite and bullying. Aemond went up 1v4 and even showed mercy, NOT bashing that kid's head in with the rock. And they still chose to try to kill him. Even after all that he let LOSING AN EYE slide. I don't like Alicent, or Otto, or Larys. Any of them. Fuck Aegon, too. But Aemond's got that DOG in him. I respect the hell out of him.

Alicent and the Greens have a lot of problems but seems the criticism is one way. Not saying it's nice what Alicent did but Alicent demanding an eye for an eye would probably be normal protocol in a pseudo-medieval setting like this. We saw this in episode 1 with Daemond delivering "justice" to criminals. Also, parents act irrational when something happens to their kids. Many people judging Alicent for that would likely act the similar in a medieval setting Also, why are we skirting over the fact that Rhaenyra is trying to pass illegitimate kids as heirs to the iron throne?

That's literally why the Blackfyre Rebellion started later and it was devastating for the realm, because the king legitimized his bastard sons like Daemon Blackfyre which was unheard of and illegal up to that point. Most kings have bastard kids, if they all had a claim to the throne there would be chaos.

While I'm personally more like Rhaeneyra, Alicent has plenty of good reasons to be fed up with her. I know if my kid lost an eye, even without the other shit, I'd have probably reacted similarly. Also, Aemond didn't steal anyone's dragon. His previous owner is dead. It's callous, I agree, but he didn't steal anything from anyone. Rhaeneyra is playing just as many games as everyone else.

Don’t mourn me mother, I may have lost an eye but I gained a dragon….one of the hardest lines in GoT history

No one talks about Aemond taking the dragon because he did nothing wrong, he was in his right to claim Vhagar and the dragon choses the rider, not the other way around, meaning she can't be stole. She made her decision, since she isn't supposed to go with the kids of her past rider (if that would have been the case then Laena wouldn't have been her rider), but to anyone who claims her and she finds worthy.

Not surprised that the same director and cinematographer that did the Long Night did this episode 💀

It appears that folks that watch it on some TV screens with the normal settings (usually not optimized) have problems. I watched it on my computer and had zero issues.I also had no issues watching the long night. I’m internally screaming turn up the brightness lollll. Pause the thing and stop suffering

Reactors have issues because they have all the lights on with additional ring lights facing then making it harder for them to see the darker scene, than for us at home who probably had our lights off or at least not as many lights on.

Fundamentally once the Dragon is large enough it's the dragon's decision to travel and fly with whom they want. They are apex predators above even humans. Hell, I suspect the farmers of Pentos are thrilled they don't need to sacrifice entire herds of cattle to feed Vhagar anymore.

During the boat ride to drift mark the girl could have claimed vagar but she didn’t. It’s her fault now one boat ride later almond is here and he does it first chance he gets sorry. I’m black but if the whyte boy got the cohones then I guess black lives don’t matter.

I like that aemond scene was at night, while everyone else sleeping on the comfort of their bed, he was struggling for his life and glory on a dragon saddle. No one there to cheer him up when he succeed, or to help if it went wrong. Just himself. Now imagine it end like eps 3, when rhaenyra return to the camp and everybody watching her, but now instead with a boar, aemond return to the crowd on vhagar's back.

And then almost every audience member thinks he's the aggressor when he was just clearly defending himself. Jace was clearly attacking him with a knife and that was the only time he used the rock but Sheera said it was Jace who was practicing self-defence 🤦‍♂

Fans going "sentence Alicent to death" "kill her" "touching Princess is treason”. So we just gonna forget that child who got his eye popped out like a champagne cork is Viserys' own son too?! He’s a Prince?! Viserys is gonna execute his wife for wanting justice for his own son?! Huh?? What kinda weak King does nothing while his own seed gets his eye poked out by a couple of bas-terds? @Rick King 22 Because he's brave and a badass. Also was smart in realizing that if he gave up his mother it could have possibly meant her death under charges of treason. At the end he also took what happened pretty damn well considering he lost a fucking eye. He could've been whiny or super angry or many other things but instead was like "Meh, it's not that big of a deal. I got a dragon so I'm good."

Just pointing this out, riders don't really claim dragons. It's the dragons who accept riders. It's not like he forced Vhagar to be his mount. Kinda grimy for it to happen the day of Laenas funeral, but there's no real bureaucracy or standard for who get what dragon once it's available. It's basically a free-for-all everytime a dragonrider dies and a dragons up for grabs.

Everyone Knows”.That’s Aegon’s “the Prince will remember that little Lord” moment. Aemond taming Vhagar & holding his own in a 1v4 makes him the real chad in my eyes. Only wholesome moment, our Prince resting his head on his mom’s shoulder to let her know she can depend on him. Last but not least, GOATTO Hightower with the coldest win or you die reference, “we play an ugly game”...and I’m the meme of Homer Simpson decked out in green onsies, sitting on green cushions, wearing a Hightower snapback, holding a Go Greens flag with a Alicent poster on the wall😂. Facts

Pay attention to Alicent's daughter Halaena. She is definitely a dreamer. Remember in Episode 6 when Alicent told Aemond he’ll get a dragon one day? Helaena said “He’ll have to close an eye.” Also in this episode Helaena was playing with a spider and repeatedly said “Hand turns loom, spool of green, spool of black, dragons of flesh, weaving dragons of thread.” So she's predicting the Black Vs. Green conflict in her Targaryen family! So Helaena predictions are coming true. 😉

Aemond after gaining the biggest dragon compared to the rest. *WE UP NOW*

That is true but Aemond did instigate the entire thing, and threatened to kill them using his new dragon. Hes also the eldest one there and as we saw last episode Alicents children have been trained better than Rhaenryas sons because of coles bias and hatred. There's actually a theory that Daenerys' eggs were the three eggs stolen from Rhaena Targaryen by her lover Elissa Farman around 70 or so years before House of the Dragon. They were sold off to the Sealord of Braavos and effectively disappeared from history from then on. Dany's eggs are stated to be "fossils" by the time she gets them, and she's the only one who sees them as anything more than just cool rocks before they hatch. So if that were true then Dreamfyre, the dragon ridden by Helaena(the daughter of Viserys and Alicent), would be the ancestor of Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal.

The brother's synchronization and quick thinking was amazing, and Aegon's response was brilliant, he not only says the obvious, because everyone knows that Rhaenyra kids are bastard, they just don't admit it, but his answer also turns the tables, because he embarrasses Rhaenyra and make everyone turn their eyes in embarrassment for her, you can see in her face. Rhaenyra tried to frame Alicent and have her executed, but the brothers turned the table. It's an incredible scene, because if they hadn't read the room, think fast and given the right answer, they were going to have their mother executed or one of them punished. Aemond was silent and read the room, then he says it was his brother, because Aegon is the only one besides him who would stay on his mother's side, and his brother is an irresponsible who just wants to drink and have sex, it could come off as gibberish said by a drunkard, no one would take it seriously. But still, he should be questioned, and if given the wrong answer, he'd screw up Aemon's play. Aegon and Aemond were amazing in how they acted. And Aemond's answer at the end was the final blow, the people where divided and fighting among themselves, forgetting the reason why all that was happening: The fact that Aemond had conquered the most powerful dragon in the kingdom, and when he brings it to light again, everyone looked scared, Rhaenyra herself is in shock, because everyone there realized the military power that Alicent and her lineage have in their hands, putting everyone in submission.

👌👌👌 some people are really failing to see the complexities of these last few episodes. They are expecting clear and cut heroes and to cheer for, meanwhile if it continues to be like this and with the source material there shouldn’t be any of the main players worth cheering for.

The show also brushes past Rhaenyra saying Aemond should be "sharply questioned" which in Westerosi terms means tortured for information, so the situation here was TENSE and Aemond knew exactly what he stood up against.

@@neneray310 Yeah I like that they’re not beating us over the head with these double meanings. Alicent saying "over an insult??" like she thought Rhaenyra had gone mad, was the perfect response. For the record, I don’t think Rhaenyra ACTUALLY wanted her 10 year old brother to be tortured, but Alicent has no way of knowing that. An empty threat is still a threat. And this makes it so much more understandable how Alicent demands an eye for an eye.

Didn't Ned Stark get killed for looking into Cerci's children's lineage? That's how important the royal bloodline is in this series, Rhaenyra should have known this ,like she thinks daddy's get out of jail free card will always be there. What I find funny is that most people think Aemond stole the dragon. No, the dragon wasn't Laena's property, it was her partner. Vhagar accepted and chose Aemond as her rider. If Rhaena was quicker to claim her maybe it wouldn't be such a shitshow.

It might seem crazy that Alicent didn't get executed for hurting the heir but I think people's view on the medieval political system is warped because of terrible kings in past GoT content like Jeoffrey, Cersei, etc who would just chop heads off willy nilly. Remember Viserys is a good man but a weak king, most people in that room could understand a mother acting rashly in the defense of her child but killing your queen would still seem out of pocket with most of the court. It would also fracture the 7 kingdoms by alienating a powerful house in the Hightowers and remember Viserys is all about keeping the kingdom together because of Aegon's prophecy.

The blade was in Robert's collection, Joffrey stole it and gave it to henchmen he hired after he heard drunk Robert remark "It would have been better for the boy to die". Tyrion figures it out during the wedding, and Jaime later guesses too after Cersei mentions Robert saying that.

He instigated it by insulting baela about her dead mother on the day of her funeral.. aemond's attitude clearly changed after gaining vhagar and was such an asshole on that scene.. but to be fair with aemond, he only fought back and reciprocate what was thrown at him, he even shown mercy when he got the upperhand

Wow, those kids fighting it out was the best action sequence of this entire show so far! Not kidding.

Daemon laughed because Vaemond was taking a shot at Rhaenyra's kids during the ceremony. Notice he laughed when Vaemond started talking about not letting Velaryen blood thin.

You cant steal dragons even if they are untamed - the dragon doesnt get passed on, they choose the rider if the rider is fit. Aemond was right, she should've tried her hand with Vaegar first but she didnt. Vaegar recognised Aemonds bravery and chose him. From her point of view though, she's grown up with Vaegar her entire life knowing that she belonged to her mother and hoped she would one day bond with Vaegar. It would hurt to see a piece of your mothers memory bond with another.

Rhaenyra and Daemon did a good job of making people think that they would do something like that as a warning to their enemies so I’ll give them that. Other than that I was on Alicent’s side this episode, I love her lmao. Aemond was an opportunist in this episode but I was cheering for him claiming Vhagar. I also feel bad for Rhaena, Baela, Jace, and Luke. They’re mourning their parents. The last scene of Daemon and Rhaenyra getting married made me feel for them because the girls are mourning their mother and the loss of Vhagar while the boys are mourning two fathers. Hopefully they at least tell the boys about Laenor but then again idk if they told Rhaenys and Corlys either. They said their side will know the truth, I assume they mean the blacks.
