Can you do an analysis of Jordan Ta’amu and the 2018 Ole Miss offense? Why didn’t DK have great numbers there? And you really don’t think Ta’amu can throw the deep ball? :O

Will Dunphey no, I don’t think Jordan Ta’amu is even going to get drafted. I only have one episode left to make before I start spring ball and take a brief break from the show (I play college football). I don’t want to spend my limited time breaking down Ta’Amu. Maybe after the draft in May I could make a video explaining his struggles 😃👊🏻

Theyve already got Albert Wilson, and devante Parker. They really need an oline and a tight end. If they can get that then they might have a pretty good season. I do agree that he would be a great fit for Miami considering they already have the deep threat receivers there for him.

Potential is overrated. That was one thing they knocked Russell Wilson for. They said he was already as good as he was going to be and they were mostly correct. So what he's doing ok. These guys have already played a LOT of football. To think in a few years in the NFL they're going to get a lot better is kind of unrealistic. Also if they're not good enough to get playing time RIGHT NOW they may never get the chance to improve. Contrary to popular opinion you don't learn anything riding the bench. You need playing time.

I like the comments coming out of the senior bowl on him, the coaches said he was very coachable and picked up the offense very well. For a QB that isn't a refined product showing that ability to pick up coaching quickly is a terrific sign. As you have mentioned before that is one of those areas where we have to remember that college players have a much more limited amount of practice time allowed, if Lock can put his focus and drive in the right place I think he could get significantly better over his first season or so as a pro, a la Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady (just maybe not that level). He is definitely better than Kaizer though, Kaizer literally makes teams worse by stepping on the field.

I feel that Drew Lock is really lucky to be drafted by my Broncos. On any other team, he might not have had the tools to needed developed his potential, so lucky for him to have not only just have a veteran QB that has a similar skill set, but also have a coach whose proven that he can develop QB's, I think it might be possible for him to grow. Here's hoping by the time he's ready that the good 10 percent does grow to be 70-80% and were set for a long time.

I appreciate hearing good feedback from a guy with football knowledge, as opposed to Mel Kiper who has never worn a jock strap. It's even better that you play at such a storied football program, where the legend of Frosty lives on! Honestly, I think Drew's accomplishments are immense. He held the Mizzou program together in the extraordinary turbulence of Ferguson, Mo. Also, he endured Mizzou's transformation from a Big 12 program into an SEC program under Odom (where interior linemen scholly's have doubled) and all of the different OC's and gameplans. Although I have played all four years of college and coached in high school and college for 12 years after that, I admit that I may just be rooting for the kid. As a Mizzou guy, I know what we owe him.

Feedback: I understand your content is pushed out consistently but in efforts to provide feedback I’d encourage to edit in the numbers with the titles during your commentary would be small but go a long way. Keep up the great content and grind. You have a bright future ahead of you.

Strong Opinion Sports I appreciate you replying. What I mean is when numbers or certain points are being made having them being put on the screen. For example, 0:50 in this video has points being made having those on the screen would be visually appealing(I just quickly grabbed an example). I do understand it is a podcast so it wouldn’t be completely necessary but it was just a little constructive criticism just because I enjoy the content.

I don't think that Kizer was a fair comparison because he was thrown into the starting job right away with absolutely no playmakers or even good players around him at all. The Chiefs on the other hand let him sit and learn for a year, and when he did come in, he had such a great offense built around him.

Yes and no. You can go back and watch clips of Mahomes in the 2017 preseason. He was already really good just straight out of the gate. He wouldn't have been 50 TDs and 5k yards good. Sitting for a year and getting coached by Andy Reid undoubtedly helped him be dominant straight out of the gate, but to think he wouldn't have had decent success of he started immediately is a bridge too far. Baker Mayfield's season is probably similar to what a Mahomes rookie season could have looked like if he'd played because they're relatively similar players who came out of similar systems. Maybe even a little better because Andy Reid, Hunt, Kelce, and Hill are better than their Browns counterparts Baker had. People need to define what they mean by "potential." It seems people use it as a shorthand for arm strength and making amazing throws downfield. 2 QBs that have a combined 10 Superbowls in Brady and Montana were never described as having immensely powerful arms, especially Montana. Drew Brees is the all time career leader in yards and TDs and no one accuses him of a howitzer. 3 legendarily strong armed QBs in Favre, Elway, and Marino have 3 Superbowls between them, not that you should determine how good a QB was solely on Superbowl wins. If it's not making spectacular throws that is the determining factor for high-end potential, what is? All 3 of the lesser-armed QBs have 2 traits in common: extremely accurate in the short and intermediate range and incredibly fast mental processing. Mahomes has both of those traits in addition to his weekly batch of highlights. Baker Mayfield has both traits. Kyler Murray seems to have those traits. Drew Lock does not appear to have those traits. Will Grier has 1 of those traits in accuracy. Not sure if his processing is on an elite level, but I'd take a risk on him before Lock if I was looking for a pure upside candidate.

  • @owenconnelly1648

TheGreatRL he said that Reid develops QBs better and he’s a better coach but I was just adding to it. I’m also not dissing him, he’s probably my favorite analyst out there right now and have watched like all of his video

Locks passed every test. The guy kept Missouri competitive in the tough SEC, and is really underrated athletically, and ran a 4.69 40 at the combine , on top of perfect QB size at 6ft4 227lbs. Also I've heard he loves football and is really coachable. This guys gonna be awesome. Reminds me of Matt Stafford.

4:16 here's my reasoning for the bad throw. He saw the crossing route start to open up and as he's going through his throwing progression he notices downfield the seam down the left-middle is opening up. He hesitates about pulling it down to throw deep and instead throws it into the dirt.

I’ve not watched anything but a few highlights, what sticks out is that he likes to go deep and he typically has MUCH more time in the pocket than average. He benefited greatly from either facing bad rushers or have a good offensive line. He will not get that much time in the NFL. To be successful he will need to make better quick throws under pressure. Maybe he can already but none of that is on the highlight reel.

  • @poeskey
    @poeskey5 жыл бұрын

He's pretty good in Madden. Drafted him at only a 70 ovr. He makes some really good passes mid and deep, and he's consistently hitting deep passes to devante Parker and Albert Wilson. Miami should be trying to draft him considering they have 2 really good deep passers. I'm almost done with my first season with him and he's at. 74 right now.

I liked your video. But I have to say I’ve seen some of those throws he’s fit into right windows and they are incredible. I mean they are dimes into tight spots. Yes bad throws happen. Maybe on plays he’s not to excited about. Ya know everyone has something that get them going. Those bad throws you listed and others were on plays that maybe aren’t big plays for him as a quarterback. But his energy and excitement are exciting to me. Heart is the main thing in sports. He seems to have a lot. Not afraid to take a hit and also throw the ball in tight spots. This guy treated right could be something special.

I wish you would go a bit deeper into the mental ability of Drew Lock. I loved the analysis of his physical abilities, but when you get to the NFL quarterback is a very cerebral position. Do you feel that his inconsistencies come from a lack of the ability to read defenses/make good decisions or just inconsistencies in just overall performance? Curious because I have Lock as my favorite quarterback for value in the draft.

Every good QB makes bonehead mistakes a times. This ur first time watching a QB? All the numbers are on point and he passed all the pre draft events with flying colors , and he has great size and underrated athletic ability , and has good character, and can have his team compete even when he has lesser talent around him then most teams in the league, which is huge. Love this kid.

I would love to see Drew Lock on the raiders but he’ll probably be taken by the dolphins or Broncos

Cianan Kelly Is love to see him go to Miami. I think the Dolphins need to be good again. Mostly, as a Chiefs fan, I don’t want to see him (or any 1st round QB from this class) in the AFC West.

He now has a super bowl winning qb and a highly respected coach known for unlocking players potential and the man who coached Jimmy Garrappolo in 2017 and Nick Mullins last season. How much better can you get for a situation???

He just needs to improve his poor footwork. If he improves that then he should be better than Cutler but that has to get better for him to be consistent.

Funny comment on D.K since now there playing together I hope he goes off at Seattle. I think hawks have ton of young talent with top end speed.

What I see in Drew Lock is that his footwork is what kills him. His bad throws his footwork is a halfstep behind his reads. That can be shaken out in OTAs in the NFL.

I think Broncos would be perfect fit! John Elway likes him and his style is more similar to Flacco than Lamar Jackson's was. Flacco could be the perfect mentor for a year or two in Denver. Who agrees?

Plan and simple, He needs better footwork. He’ll get the coaching in the NFL... BUT ultimately it’s Drew Locks decision whether or not he puts that work in

It’s simple: Lock has a lot to learn. If he’s hungry and studied hard and does a ton of work he could be a Franchise QB. Time will tell. Flacco is the man for the foreseeable future.
