But declaring him innocent simply bc you (i assume) admire his work does no one any favors - including yourself. "Never meet your heroes" is a timeless phrase for a reason. If you have more than just Woody's word for believing he is innocent, i would like to know what you've seen or read to make you think this. This is a complex case, and i keep open eyes & open ears to any and all evidence. The evidence thus far tells me that a filmmaker i adored for decades molested his adopted daughter - before grooming and marrying another.

Either way, if that's the only reason you don't believe Woody capable of assaulting his daughter, that doesn't seem related enough to make that claim! It's completely unrelated! No one knows anyone's life behind closed doors. It would be a better world to live in if it wasn't true, especially for Dylan. She has been heard ad nauseum. How much being heard does Dylan Farrow "deserve"? Dylan Farrow and her mother have kept the story alive in order to ruin Woody Allen. Mission accomplished. Woody Allen has been publicly shamed and suffers the consequences of the emotional blackmail the Farrows have perpetrated on most who have worked with him. Sadly, so does his family. What else does she need to say and why does she feel the need to keep saying it? Because she's not doing it for the purpose of helping other people. Clearly, it was to get another person who worked with Woody Allen (long after the events in question happened and was widely reported in the media for years) to publicly express regret for having worked with him. But lets be clear, whenever Dylan Farrow sits for an interview, it is decidedly not to help victims of abuse (certainly not her abused non-white siblings).

It's really sad for her, whether this alleged abuse happened or not because she plainly is not doing the needful to move forward in her life. But she also shows poor character as she plainly is not at all interested in how her constantly keeping this matter in the public eye affects the Allen daughters, not to mention her older sister. Literally no concern at all. Everything Dylan has ever done is about herself. She has done literally nothing to help other abuse victims (particularly her non-white siblings) and yet people come on here thanking her for "all she does." Sitting for interviews to "tell my story" over and over (while complaining that she is never heard) is NOT about helping other people. As for Drew, she is proof of the herd mentality. She's very likable, but she has demonstrated really poor character, all out of obsessiveness with being perceived as an empath and the fear of losing her own career. such as it is

I remember exactly what I wore to school that day- a pink sweater, pink skirt and pink tights - I loved pink girly things, until that day. 35 years later, I still can't wear dresses, skirts or pink. Sexual trauma never ever leaves, and I don't believe for a minute that Dylan, Mia or Ronan lied or gaslit anybody. On the other hand, Woody Allen married his barely legal STEPDAUGHTER. And if you think his eye would never roam to his other children, I pity your naivety. And just because an investigation was done YEARS after the fact doesn't mean he wasn't guilty. It means there wasn't enough EVIDENCE decades later. There was no evidence against my attacker either because I was 8 and didn't know to go to the police or my parents.

That had to be so rough. It's difficult because her disposition can be seen one of two ways...she's hesitant, nervous, or seemingly apologetic because she's lying, OR she's hesitant and apologetic because she's been met with so much negativity regarding her accusations. You can't convince everyone, but we each have to stay true to our truth either way. I think she represents many people who have been squelched by the fact that society, and even FAMILY will and can reject you if your situation is inconvenient or simply unpopular.

This interview was a clinic on what not to do in an interview. First problem is that Drew was not prepared to have an even handed conversation; she obviously did not do her research because, if she had, she would have seen the problems with Dylan's story and raised important questions. Second problem is that Drew is so focused on showing the world how empathetic she can be, and suck her viewers into that in order to gain the praise we see in this forum, she saw no problem in throwing under the bus a person who, by her own account, treated her well during a positive experience (which took place several years AFTER this entire affair was public). The conversation they had certainly was on an issue of importance, but it should not be with Dylan Farrow, who has made herself a professional victim and weaponized her victimhood to shame others. How is that acceptable to anyone. And, notice how she is an advocate for only one person - herself. She is her mother's daughter.

@@heatherjamieson4295 Precisely. In the court of public opinion, the Farrows can manipulate people at their whim. If they sue Woody Allen, he gets to defend himself, present witnesses, impeach the credibility of their witnesses, subpoena the employees who were conveniently left out of the HBO hit piece and, most important, assert counterclaims. The Farrows cannot have that. They need to control the narrative, one that for some strange reason is still being presented. Nobody seems to want Dylan to move on with her life in a healthy manner. My true hope is that after Mia dies, her other adoptive, non-white kids will be free from her hold and tell the truth about what it was like to be raised by that awful woman.

That’s not the typical choice for an opportunist. If you see interviews with him, he is soft spoken and focused on drawing attention to the difficulties of adoption not on his father or himself. Woody Allen could live to be a 100 and most of his assets would go to his wife. Moses would split the rest with Manzie and Bechet. That would require a long and patient game plan with uncertain results.
