I’m a middle-aged nobody who got into twisty puzzles when I turned 40. I’m on the Twisty Puzzles forum (twistypuzzles.com/forum) as rline. On youtube, back in 2017, I used to have 12,000 subscribers. Then I shut my channel down and took a break from it all. I’m sort of back.
I specialise in solving puzzles simply, mostly using only two algorithms:
Edge Piece Series: F R’ F’ R (and similar)
Corner Piece Series: U R U’ L’ U R’ U’ L
Occasionally, when needed, I use sune: R U R’ U R U2 R’
I absolutely love breaking down a difficult puzzle to the point where I can solve it using essentially nothing more than these three algorithms, or combinations.
I’m completely uninterested in speedsolving. I have no time for haters and anonymous keyboard warriors; life’s too short. I have no ads or calls to action. (What youtube does, though, is a mystery to me in this regard.)
I post new videos whenever I post new videos; according to my schedule, time and interest level. The main “issue” with making new videos is generally finding the funds to buy the puzzles (this hobby ain’t cheap…)
If you like the sound of a calm, considered and thoughtful approach to solving twisty puzzles, welcome. Enjoy your stay.

Hi Rline, loved your blog back in the day. You approach and explain the puzzles in such an intuitive way is marvelous and it has enabled me to solve a lot of puzzles on my own. I completely understood your reasons, but I was really sad to see your blog offline. Just today I was solving the Dreidel for the first time again in ages and got stuck on cycling the small edge pieces. While looking for a solution I stumbled onto your new KZread channel. So stoked to see you back!

How do you go about figuring out an algorithm like the 3-cycle you demonstrate at 6:50?

Honestly...trial and error. I always have the basic up-up-down-down, or "edge piece series" or whatever you want to call it, the basic 4-move commutator. Then i often try repeating it 3 times, 5 times, more, sometimes I keep going until 20ish just to see what it does. On this occasion, doing it 5 times happened to produce something incredibly useful.
