Dreidel Cube Tutorial Part 2: Edge and Corner Reduction

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Ok, so we proceed with part 2 where we use positioning and just a little intuition to place the reduce the corners and edges. We finish this part with the last of the fully reductive steps, ready to embark on part 3 where we fight the forces of parity, and use the commutator that we armed ourselves with in part 1.
Enjoy!

My least favorite subject growing up was history, but my favorite teacher was a guy who told historical stories with such interest and passion it was fascinating. You remind me of him because even though I will probably never own this puzzle, I thoroughly am enjoying the walkthrough and can't wait for part 3!

As always great video. Easy to understand. I solve this puzzle in a much frustrating method but it works. I'd like to share it with you. 1. revert the puzzle back into cube. 2. Solve the edges 3. Match the corners with inner corner 4. Solve as 3x3x3 But when parity happens i need to go all the way back to step 2.

HELP:I saw your tutorial on the 3x4x5 and it got me all the way to the parity parts but I don't understand how the parity alg works. I didn't send u a pic because I don't have a specific situation, what I need to know is what the parity alg does because it is so far confusing to me. Can u please help me understand the parities? Thank you!

Austin White Ah, excellent question, and perfect timing for it! Long story short, it's based on the generation of a commutator in exactly the same way as I showed with part 1. But it's important with the brick cuboids like the 3x4x5 to explain exactly how I did it, to demonstrate this. I'm uploading a viewer question addressing this very thing. Thanks for that!
