As if 2020 wasn't enough already, Eddie Van Halen's passing caused me to openly weep. I'm not sure why. I suppose it signifies the end of an era. There will never be another chance to see him perform live. Neil Peart's passing earlier this year was the start of a very bad year, and well....the hits just keep comin'.
Anyway, after Eddie's passing I did like many would....cranked up my Van Halen playlist and relived all those great songs. Though I'm decidedly a bigger fan of the Roth-era VH, this song came on and I knew right away I had to do a cover of it as a farewell tribute.
Eddie was more to me than just the world's greatest/most influential guitarist, he was a complete musician. Classically trained pianist, turned drummer, turned guitarist, songwriter, innovator, mad scientist. That's why I set him so high on a pedestal. He simply was a musical genius, and I consider myself extremely lucky that I walked on the planet and breathed the same air he did.
RIP, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen.

That’s no lie. Brody is a very multi talented artist. I’m amazed at how much he sounds to Sammy Hagar. I thought for a second he was lip syncing to the song. Am I’m not fully convinced he’s not. Irregardless Brody is great. If you liked this video you should check out “Losing It” cover he does by Rush. It brings tears to my eyes… Thanks Brody for what you do….

I was trying to explain how much he sounds like Sammy. It’s obvious he was not lip syncing but someone may think that based on how good Brody is. Rock on Brody.

@@johnhancock9249Definitely not lip synching. He honestly sounds more like Gary Cherone than Sammy. But Gary didn't have Sammy's range during their primes.
This guy is an unbelievable talent, so glad I discovered him. Amazing.

When the vocals were about to come in I thought, "Ok, here's where the overall quality of this cover can't help but to go down." Instead it was the exact point where it went up several levels! I couldn't have been more wrong. Bravo!

Wow..... I know this video is a few years old, but I just found it and am blown away. Not only is his talent with the various instruments extremely impressive, but to hit those notes with his voice is just crazy. Sammy Hagar has said that 'Dreams' is the hardest song he's had to sing becuase of the high notes. This guy nailed it!

Brody hits all those notes that our (aging) classic rock heroes no longer can. An incredible rock singer and musician. Also a tremendous talent at sounding remarkably like the artists he covers.

My favorite Van Halen song is Love Walks In. I had two UFO encounters with missing time. Sammy said that`s what the song is about. I think they saved my life. This is killer man! WHAT A VOICE!

Van Halen. The embodiment of the American dream. My America. The Van Halen family came here with nothing but each other and a piano... Well you know the rest. I too wept. Ed was a special person saw the band 5 times. Lost my mom to cancer 5 years ago and my best friend in the world died last month too. I can just imagine them both telling Eddie what a huge Van Halen geek I am LOL. Cuz that's what love is made of. Peace.

Grew up on VH, Zeppelin, Areosmith, Eagles, Heart, & all the greatest of the 70's/80's..... 1st song I learned to play on my dad's Fender was "Smoke on the Water" (easy few chords, right?) and I still play "at" the guitar....... for you to have mastered so many instruments AND have the vocal range that you do?..... I am in complete awe...... EVH was and will always be my guitar-hero and I doubt in my lifetime anyone will compare; but your performance here was not only a tribute to him, but to the entire band. I just discovered you by accident two days ago, and I will eagerly look for your future videos--and I will support your channel. You sir, (and Nina D) are true artists!!
