Nice review. Just found and subscribed to your channel after searching for advice on mower blade sharpening and discovering your 2 yr old video on that. The stock blade on my brand new electric Ego 22” Aluminum deck mower seems unusably dull to the point I’m about to return it. Going to give it one more chance after picking up a sharpening kit. Thanks!

Nice little review... would love to see some lawn YT that actually bought a robo mower with their own money....I'm secretly jealous of all the free stuff they get...especially when its an item that likely wont last more than a few years in sevicebm, but costs as much as a zero turn

I did buy the Mammotion Luba with my own money, to get this started. Unfortunately, the economics of buying them to review doesn't work out for me yet...maybe someday if the views keep increasing.

The fact you don't need an RTK is cool. I'm still using my Segway Navimow i110n and enjoy it so far, other than the 7in cut. My Luba 2 3000H is still sitting in it's box for more than 2 weeks. Between life and the amount of rain we've been getting, there's no time 🙃

It is amazing how the days fly by. How do you like the Segway?

@TheLawnEngineer Other than the longer run time due to the smaller area cut, I really have nothing bad to say about the Segway i110n. I feel like Segway packed a lot of tech into an affordable price for the mainstream. It's super light on your grass, doesn't rut anything making it's zero turn. The app is super user friendly. It can handle both sides of my house and the front(3500 sq ft) on 1 charge but my backyard(6500 sq ft) it can do about 70% before returning for a charge. I think I'll finally set up the Luba 2 this week after tomorrow's rain and finally get a comparison.

Nice mower but I prefer the Sunseeker you reviewed earlier. Sunseeker mow height is 4 inches vs 3 for the Dreame. Base model Sunseeker can do 3/4 acre vs 1/2 acre. Not sure about Dreame support but Sunseeker has a location in the Carolina's. Sunseeker can handle lawns with more slope. I prefer the front wheel and all wheel drive of the Sunseeker. For me the setting up of RTK is not an issue and the Sunseeker has Lidar vision as well. Nothing wrong with this Dreame but the Sunseeker you reviewed is overall more capable. I am still awaiting the delivery of My Sunseeker Orion Plus model because I have close to and acre of lawn. Disappointed the shipment has been pushed back to June 9 vs May 20th but Sunseeker did include a longer warranty valued at $199 to make up for the late delivery.

Nice review. I have the same lawn edging and I expected the mower to follow the edging and cut the edges of the lawn. Why can't it be seen? He can not do it?

  • @TheLawnEngineer

I stay a few inches away from the edging when driving it around the border to create the map. I installed the edgers 2” above the dirt, none of my robot mowers deal with the height difference well. If your edgers are at the same level as the ground, you can ride on them when creating the map.

How do you create zones? is it the same as creating a "no go" zone? I have sidewalk in front of my house and grass on the other side of the side walk, so I want the robot to be able to mow that section too, so I am trying to understand how this zone feature is setup. I know it handles multiple zones. If you wanted to make say your front yard a zone, the sides separate zones and the backyard a zone do you have to run those perimeters separately or do just include all those areas on your initial perimeter setup and then mark the zones within the app? Thanks for info you can provide.

Yes, you run perimeters separately to create different zones. You always start with a zone and then create no-go zones inside of that zone. Once you have your separate zones, you create a "channel" to connect the zones. The robot will always follow the "channel" to navigate from one zone to the other.

@@TheLawnEngineer I just received my Dreame A1 and I think it did a good job mowing my lawn, but I had it set to mow all zones, but it only mowed the main lawn zone and not the other 2 zones. I had to then stop the current mowing since it finished the main lawn and had to specifically tell it to mow the other 2 zones. That isn't good. I will have to see if I can figure that issue out. Then I switched to the Edge feature and my mower goes out to the front lawn and just wanders around not doing any edging. Have you notice this issue in your testing? Thanks.

Was it able to handle under your trampoline?

  • @Crazywako_

I have Dreame A1 and it does not handle trampoline too well. It wont detect horizontal legs on the ground and will run over those with a little bang coming from the cutting blades touching metal. I have added some blockades to the legs so that it will not run over those. Now it does run from the middle of the trampoline but leaves edges next to the legs uncut. I will provide you with a photo on next comment

Stay away from this mower. Should not have been released to market. You need to constantly monitor it, and help it when it stuck or has entered a no-go zone. It just like 3:50 in to this review, take a seat and monitor it, because you can’t leave your property and expect to have a mowed lawn when you return home.
