I'm actually glad they went in this direction! Knowing that this is a prequel to the previous two songs, I expected the music to be lighter in nature. If it had been harder and creepier, it wouldn't have made sense (to me at least) for the story narrative. This song still has the Dreamcatcher trademark. If they ever strayed away from the hard rock style, I'd still be excited because as performers, I understand that they'd want to experiment and try to concepts.

Ya, I think it's less about musical style, and more about staying true to their concept/story, which is what they did; and they did it really well. It allows them to explore various different sounds (like most groups do) while still being "true to themselves"/their style.

I also really liked it. Babymetal, kawaii metal, pop-rock, or whatever it's called that genre of music. I hope they make more music in that kawaii line, which is better than that genre of teletubbies / cute music. I hope the company will further explore the characters with a song for each transformation, especially the girl / spider because i dint understand what happened in this scene

And wake up is more rock than Fly high.

In a interview they said, this song is less intense because it was suppose to show the fans (in the story prespective) how their were and why they turned it nightmares. they even though about having this song and wake up as a double title song, to better show the transformation into nightmares

I feel like we could understand this "lighter" side because Dreams are not always darkness AND it is explaining their "innocence before possession." Also, your point about gaining popularity with a more pop sound could be true, which is understandable for the summer. What will be important is to see where they go with the next comeback. ARMY with WINGS on FIRE I wouldn't be surprised, especially with the pentagram(?) ending. This was a good time to do the before, now what matters is how they further the story in the next comeback, which should be super dark. Like some have said, they could be going full VIXX lol

Dreamcatcher is actually such strong rookie group that have managed to established their own signature rock sound within months of debut. Even with such a poppy song, they managed to put their own twist to it with their distinct sound, which is extremely impressive to me! Also, I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if you could react to knk or snuper, both groups have recently came back, but are still sadly underrated :/Their musical styles are less common in kpop and I would really love to hear your / the musicians opinions!!

The thing about music that saddens me is that I can buy a song or an album, but the artist/group will benefit very little from it. Yet in the case of many of them, I can't support them more due to my physical location. It's not like I can go to their concerts, and buying merchandise that I don't have space for is just not viable. Although I'd totally frame posters and hang them on the wall if I had the space for it. I currently have 5 guitars, some paintings, a map and some trinkets occupying the free space that I do have.

What really caught my attention is how you barely blink. And aside from the technical terms you spewed out, my reaction was very much alike. Yeeeeesssss!!!!!

Honestly I think my biggest disappointment with the song was actually the little variation they put into the vocals. Though I'm thrilled Handong and Gahyeon actually got lines (very, very little, but still better than some other songs) I definitely wish the group would get to fully utilize their vocal uniqueness, or even just spice it up a little so the same parts would change/vary as the song goes on. I'm absolutely here for Dami destroying me in like 10 words though 👌

In melody you can hear this fight between their good side and new evil side. Rest song from the album are even better :D specially Wake up is my favorite. I love Dreamcatacter so much and I actually liked this comeback a lot more than I thought I would 🙃 Next you should react to LOONA they are a group that is showing each member (12 in total) each month while they are debuting three sub units (one has already been debuted and it's called LOONA 1/3) at the same time. This is a 18 month project under a company called BlackBerry Creative. It started at the end of 2016 in October (I think) and so far 7 girls have been released with their singles. Soon it will be 8 with another upcoming girl named Choerry. The first girl that was released was HeeJin, then HyunJin, HaSeul, YeoJin, Vivi, Kim Lip and JinSoul. HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul and Vivi are in LOONA 1/3. I hope you check them out and if I said anything wrong I am just trying to promote my girls 💜. I'm already anticipating their next comeback. If you guys haven't notice, at the end of every music video they released there will be a preview of the background music of the song they're promoting next. At the end of Fly High mv, they put on a much more funky (and also spooky) music and I believe that would be their next song.

Dreamcatcher have three types of musical concepts, The first and more "comercial" is this kind of light heavy metal, the second is balads wit a lot of piano and more vocal concept, and the third is a mix of hard rock and the real trap music (the EDM one) and good vocals.

I think the contrast between the cutesy jpop sounds and the dark guitar and verses dami sings are perfect! They tell the story of the girls turning dark over time. It's pretty smart really.

I feel like this is being lighter is similar to what VIXX sorta does. How hardcore Starlights know that just because a VIXX song sounds lighthearted doesn't mean it's not dark. I'm also hoping with Dreamcatcher becoming more popular, especially in Korea, we can see another shift in the girl group trend where they don't always have to be "cutesy" and can experiment more with their sound.

Even though Fly High is not as "Dark" and "Metal Rock" as Good Night and Chase Me, it is still pretty "Pop Rock", and if you stop to listen to all their mini album (Like I did, I am a fan) you would be able to notice that they still have maintained their "Musical integrity", There is a song on the album entitled "Wake up" (If I am not mistaken) that is the same style as the singles before this album. Furthermore, each one of their songs on this mini album, has a different style, it shows us that they can do pretty much every type of song that they feel like doing. I find really cool that we are able to see somethings from Chase Me and Good Night, just like Siyeon's Bunny stuffed animal from Chase Me and Dami reading Good Night's Books. On my point of view, this MV is Lighter than the Mvs before it because it was supposed to explain what happened to them. (I am sorry for my English, it is not my mother language)

Speaking of groups/bands that stay true to their sound, maybe give a listen to Hyukoh? They are huge in Korea, but are relatively unknown on YT (maybe because they are pretty slow with their releases, idk). They are actually a proper band and were very popular even before signing up with a company as an indie band, IU is huge fan of their music and often does collabs with their vocalist Oh Hyuk, her latest being 'Can’t Love You Anymore'. Oh Hyuk also has done many collabs with Primary who is also one of the most prominent musicians in SK, my personal favourites are 'Bawling' and 'Gondry' (a tribute to Michel Gondry). Aaaand they did a pretty neat cover of Chet Faker's 'Gold' this summer. Even if you end up not reacting to them on YT I think that you should check them out, because there is a world outside of pop and idol culture and I think it would be nice if more people were exposed to it.

In the context of their nightmare storyline, it makes complete sense that this song has a brighter sound. They could have even gone completely pop/happy for the story, but they chose to maintain their rock and horror concept. That's artistic integrity to me!

This is the first time I'm hearing that people were a bit disappointed. I mean I definitely hear the difference between their debut and their comeback. Their debut was definitely darker and I could see it opening to an action packed angsty anime. Their comeback is on the lighter side but it's not as though they switched genres and their sound, to me, is still heavily rock. I think the way they did the mv was a really good connection to their previous work too, because it's telling a complete story which I appreciate. Still definitely a fan of this group and look forward to hearing more from them!

If you look at the storyline of the three MVs it makes sense that this is much lighter than the last two MVs. This music video is mainly capturing the moments before everything turned bad. They aren't throwing their concept away, they're continuing their concept of darkness and dreams for the storyline. They would be sacrificing themselves for fame if they went cute all of a sudden. Right now they're more popular than they were when they were MINX so their company is not going to change them back to their MINX concept any time soon.

What I see that's going on here is that their house was pure but is slowly getting tainted by evil that's why the spider got in and how the butterflies disappeared around one of the members and why gahyoon was tied up to the bed because she could either be the purest thus wanting to keep her safe or the evil that started this. That's also why the do the satanic star at the end.

Actually i've got a theory. This is a prequel for the other two, so they are basically telling a story. I'm talking this is a cinema student, and i thinking i even understand why this song is lighter. Here's the thing, in the other two is obvious that they are witches, an there is this guy chasing them. I thinking this song is more about the story before that. Did you guy see the book? Remember the book they lost in the and of Good Night music video? That book (i thinking) is their book of spells, and, as usual, the book of spell os a witch is connected to the start of they story. I've got to look at the lyrics, but i think this song and this video are talking about how they became witches. They were normal girls at the begging and changed. This type of story is still on their concept and, because it's a little bit lighter, fits in the normal summer concept.
