I also wondered why they chose to have Siyeon sing the whole chorus (although I LOVE it this way). Maybe it has to do with the tones of their voice, maybe Siyeon more rock-like vocals just 'sounded' the best in all the version of the song they may have recorded, and decided to go with it. Or maybe Siyeon had the easiest time holding the notes during performance, so they gave it to her? Hard to say... I really like how it is though.

I am pretty sure the reason is because her voice sounds more rock as a vocalist compared to Yoohyeon or Jiu (aside from Dami of course, but she is in the rap section) although putting Yoohyeon in the first part of chorus wouldn't hurt because I imagine she won't have problems with it. But now that I think of it, Siyeon doesn't sing any other part but the chorus unlike usual. The line distribution in this song is really unique for sure.

Sorry to hear about your problems while trying to review the MV song but awesome reaction as always. Can you make a reaction of "You and I" vs "What" just what you guys did with "Chase me" vs "Good Night"? 😍😍😍

In the part when the lyrics are "You're the only one I can't catch", and Jiu is looking at Yoohyeon, I couldn't help but think of past videos (I know this is the start of a new storyline, but still), because in the You and I music video, Jiu is pretty much leading an exorcist to stop the spider from possessing Yoohyeon, and in the end, they failed.

Did they explicitly say that the 'storyline ended' or did they say the 'nightmare concept ended (for now)'? Even so, the narrative throughline is pretty apparent, with 'waking' and 'dreaming' remaining core concepts to illustrate loneliness, separation, etc.. It is pretty interesting to see that continued explicitly with Jiu looking at Yoohyeon. I think this is ... kind of a clear continuation?

You are absolutely right, they said that the nightmare series was over...I guess I took the information wrong. I do feel that this song was a continuation, they even showed the books.

I think they gave Siyeon the chorus cause her voice has more of a rock-ish type of voice and it fits better in this song than Sua or Yoohyeon. Also I noticed during the live stage Siyeon has no problem hitting those notes so maybe because if that too!

@Zy_Vrie she had trouble.hitting the high notes in the chorus of You and I (she didnt do it live during performances) while Siyeon always sang her high notes part live so I guess Siyeon was more comfortable singing those parts!

@Zy_Vrie /super late / but in that performance, Yoohyeon isn't singing the end of the chorus live, which is the "high" notes I was talking about. For live performances, I take as reference the Music Core videos as that's when they sing the most live and with a cleaner track. Siyeon did her parts live in all of them.

@Zy_Vrie yeah I love both of their voices. My point was just that when they had to sing live aka with a MR track, Siyeon did it while Yoohyeon has yet to sing that part live.

Yees I also love that about Dreamcatcher, that they always tell a story with the lyrics, the music video and the choreography. Like, you can see that they put so much effort in their comebacks to make everything perfect.

Thank you so much Umu, you really made me fall in love with the song with your analysis, I didn't even notice the harmonies, and they are so beautiful; I liked the song in the beginning, but now I feel closer to it, like if I were hugging it or something (idk how to explain it xD, also engrish hard). DC is so good live its criminal, lets hope they get to go on some of the variety shows they havnt been too like weekly idol ! (8 minutes doesnt count)

A few things: 1. Pretty good song. Great energy. 2. The "break up break up my dream" line at the end of the chorus sounds like it's all on the tonic chord, which i don't really like. I think they could have done something more interesting. 3. The rest of the album is more R&B, EDM, and reggae sounds, which they haven't really done before. I look forward to hearing what you think.

agree on point 2. especially in the last chorus after the rap break it was pretty dull BUT maybe they just didn't do anything fancy on a vocal level because you have to take the choreography difficulty into account and anything fancier might be too difficult for the vocalists to execute consistently without making mistakes during live performances.

This was a really great song, the set dressing was different from their last songs, I really enjoyed it a lot, at this point it might as well be K-Rock. I bought the entire album, and it's great, off the album "Wonderland" is my favorite alongside "What."

I think for experts and average viewers, a review like this is perfect. But for a total noob like me, I could use some help. I'm the most visual or least audio-focused person I know, and feel like my short term memory for audio is like less than a second 😅. What would help me is if you could put a few dozen samples and music parts under buttons and right after you mention something play it. Or even play it, explain and play it again. Is that doable and would it benefit more viewers? Now I rewatched it I think (even) I am learning stuff, but very slowly. Like when watching vocal coaches react to Nightwish I love learning about things I know nothing about 😍.
