I'm a metalhead and an insomnia. I'm seeing a lot of comments that are worried, but please wait until the whole album is out! It's only like 10 seconds for the previews so please don't judge it too soon! Also, they've always been versatile and branched out, so please dont worry if this comeback isn't for you. I'm sure they'll make plenty more bangers in the future for everyone's taste, regardless of genre. I'm excited and can't wait to see what Dreamcatcher has to show us this comeback! 😍

You forget monsta X did this after wonho left because they wanted to try something else enter Love killa then gambler, then they wanted to go back to the old monsta X sound so their latest album which came out in November was just that. Groups need to branch out not to just try new things but take a break so their signature sound doesn't go stale.

Thing is, along with the "versatility", they usually still included the usual sound but I'm not hearing it this time. I don't listen to groups because I like the idols, I listen because I like their sound. Yeah I like some of these songs but the older ones are probably gonna get more listens personally. (Sorry if came off attacking, just venting)

Quite a few fans like me are here mainly for the more rock inspired kind of songs. Its not that I don't like the ballads and pop songs - I do, especially ballads, but I much rather have more rock in their songs. However we've got less and less of it over the past comebacks. At least dami's song seem like its going to be really dope.

My gurl Yoohyeon making her solo debut with a vintage/oldies vibe song like, what a queen! Easily my favorite track of the album. Anyway Maison is crazy af, LEEZ and Ollounder just making hits after hits, no misses. Stan these kings, y'all! And did anyone notice Siyeon solo song sounds like an OST for sageuk drama, it sounds like songs by Lyn or Lee Sun Hee (from sageuk dramas i've watched), i got chills.

I wouldnt say its not enough, it just doesnt have any rock except Damis "Beauty Full". I'm gonna listen to the songs I enjoy and other people might listen to other songs that they enjoy. We all want though that the comeback is a success regardless of personal genre favourites...

Honestly it's refreshing to see them do a softer concept. I know BEcause tried to go for a more creepy, "Red Sun" vibe which I absolutely love too. They've been doing rock with powerful percussions in their music since they debuted. I'm not opposed to them doing something unique!

starlight reminds me of 80s/early 90s alternative music like The Cure

For anyone not happy with this comeback, understand they've put so much work taking a huge risk by doing metal/nightcore for years and have killed it. They've had to push to not only still sing with live mics but also have consistently difficult and clean choreo every singly time they've been on stage. They need a break and they've earned it. Also, we got a group album where everyone has a solo single. Solo singles that are customized for each member which would only broaden their reach to a bigger audience. This is the best thing they could have done and I'm here for it.

Some people really be forgetting that the group songs and the solos are different, that's why they placed the skit between them. The group songs are just the same with their dystopia: lose myself, dystopia: road to utopia and summer holiday albums. The title track being the rock track and the bsides having different genres. The solos matches their personalities. Their styles. Each of them worked hard to write lyrics and compose their songs. It's okay to not like the songs because it's not your taste but by saying it's bad, disappointing and boring just because it's not your favorite genre is basically insulting DC's hard work. We all have our taste and so does dreamcatcher. Their solo songs fits them well. If you don't like the genre then don't like it. You don't have to badmouth the genre and the song. People also seriously needs to stop judging the songs by a 10 sec snippet. You just heard a small amount of the song and suddenly you don't like it. Annoying.

My opinion of solo songs: JiU's solo sounds like something IU would do. SuA's sounds so lit what?! Siyeon's angelic vocals coming through Handong's sounds so sweet 🥺 Yoohyeon's vocals are also slaying like always! Dami's give me 2000s pop rock songs, I'm so excited for it! I can't even focus on the song because Gahyeon is so beautiful and cute 🥺❤️ but from what I did listen to it sounds so cute. I'm so stoked for this comeback. This is my first Dreamcatcher comeback that I've been super invested in.

Yoohyeon solo is kinda Retro Swing esque, like Stella Jang's Villain. And yeah Dami giving us that Pop Punk infused Rock. Handong solo sounds very chill like a Lofi R&B song.

I went back through all the highlight medleys. The amount of times people think they abandoned their sound based on a highlight medley in the comment section is ridiculous.

I'm listening to this at least 20 times a day, not even a minute of each song and I'm already amazed by them. This album is amazing

All the people freaking out in the comments that Dreamcatcher is straying from their rock sound, I get that you’re worried but wait to hear the whole song/album before writing DC off completely. As many people have pointed out, their B-sides have always explored other genres to prove to people that they are capable of doing any genre. Also, even in the Rock genre there are sub-genres so, don’t be hasty but wait and see.

As a metalhead i just want to say to those people hinting that they're disappointed with the new sound...why you jump into conclusions with just ten seconds of a song??, to be honest i didn't even like BEcause in the first listen, it wasn't enough for me because i couldn't find the rock sound, just in the 2nd part of the chorus theres kind of an electric guitar, but still it sounds more pop-ish, even so, DC has something i can't describe that they can make metalheads like me end up loving that kind of song, now BEcause its such an enjoyable song for me, i even ended up loving some b-sides that weren't my taste such as black or white or poison love. So i'm sure that this time i don't have anything to worry about. They will include, if not in the chorus, the rock sound at the beginning or in the pre-chorus, or a tiny bit of an electric guitar, so don't worry...and if they don't, well we still have their previous songs or Dami's solo. Anyways, i'm sure you all (and me) will end up loving Maison even if it sounds more pop-ish EDIT: Actually now that i pay more attention to it,"Maison" does have an electric guitar in the chorus

Second, i myself i'm not saying anything until the full album is released, because you never know if rock elements are gonna appear later, like what happened with BEcause, but all i'm saying is that even after that people aren't feeling some of the songs, it's not a bad thing to dislike them if they don't criticize the girls at the end. Overall, this is not the first time it happens, it's a recurring situation since Summer Holiday dropped, and if people give up on them because of their sound changing directions, these comments should go away in no time, so it's not really something to worry about happening for a long period of time.

People say everything that's bothering them when the songs aren't even out yet, it's always the same speech for every comeback. For the Summer Holiday album it was announced that it would be a softer album than the previous ones so I don't see why people are shocked. People are disappointed ? Lmao. You can't expect people not to defend DC when they worked so hard for this album and they literally said the wait will pay off.

At this point of of their career I support everything they do.

Praying this comback will give them their first win, they deserve itttt....let's go insomnias

For people who shit on Maison, take note that: 1. They are kpop group, not metal group. 2. They still have retained their rock signature sound in their title track. In the 25 secs preview, I heard more rock than in entire BeCause. 3. If you wish for heavy metal in their korean title track, it probably will never happened, they will save it for their Japanese release (if any). 4. Kpop is a business industry, they are not doing music for charity. In order to increase revenue, they need to grab more general public fans (especially domestic fans). Their music need to keep evolving, which is totally fine as long as they stay with their root rock sound. They have been mixing rock sound with other genre since Piri and found success with that.

I don't even understand the people who say that the songs are too ''generic'' like- okay you can not like all the songs but I don't find it ''generic'' at all.. the solo's sounds like them, we can hear that they helped for producing etc. It's sounds perfect to my ears! It's not because most of the songs are bright, chill or ballad that it's ''generic'' and if it is, what's the matter? It's only one album, dreamcatcher will not lost ''their'' sound because of that! They will be doing plenty of new albums in the future with always something for everybody, like always! +They always had a very diverse discography ;) And all the songs are still MASTERPIECE!! It's maybe genre/concept/sounds that you already heared, but here, it's high quality and really well produced ;)) i can tell it even with only this medley hehe. Leez and ollounder never disappoint!

For everyone staying they're disappointed, I've been an insomnia for 4 years and this album is full of solos catered to each member. These are most likely songs they choose for themselves to show a side they've wanted to show for a while now. They have a lot of rock themed songs and songs from all different genres and they're allowed as artists to grow and choose which direction they want for themselves. Just because the song is metal/rock doesn't mean it isn't good, bc to me all the songs sound really well made and different. Just my opinion

Dreamcatcher has never disappointed me. I love every song they have released even though their more rock/metal sound is what originally drew me into them. But I love hearing their versatility and every song to me is a banger that I can't bring myself to skip. I will always love and support them no matter what they do.

Every girl have their own solo song and each participated on creating their songs? (if I'm not mistaken). I'm crying here. Flexing that each member really deserve their own song. Lovin' their management for this.

I'm happy for the solos and I didnt expect the solos to be different from what we got. However I would have wished for a bit more tempo in the regular album part. So far only Maison is coming close to that. But lets first wait for the full album. But even if, theres no problem when this is the first album in 5 years that overall doesnt hit my musical taste. The songs all sound very well produced so I'm sure there will be lots of people enjoying them. I will still support and already have and I wish them a great and very successful comeback! Hyped for the album and the mini-concert on April 12th!!! I hope they have enough tissue stock... :P

Wow, DC manages to surprise me every time! A song about endangered animals who are losing their homes because of climate change? I am so ready for it! A round of applause to Dreamcatcher for making songs on very serious topics. They did the same with the Dystopia trilogy. First, BOCA about toxic society and people who badmouth others. Next, Scream about people who attack others for being different. After that, Odd Eye about cyber-bullying and how the world isn't as happy as it seems because of that. Now we have the Apocalypse series coming up and the first song is about endangered species! Spreading messages through music is such a good idea! They truly are the one and only, Dreamcatcher. Thank you, DC and DCC!

Literal LO TIENE TODO . y es que sigo alucinando que sea al menos ante mis ojos , el Unico grupo de Kpop que está mostrando/hablando de la situacion actual del mundo.

im actually screaming, the solo songs sound SOOO fitting for the members, and i just, love the diversity of their albums, and they always deliver such top quality songs, performances and title tracks/mvs! despite the diversity, dream catcher have really set a mood/feel/tone for themselves, which isnt always easy to do, while staying diverse in musical content on an album. (im so excited for siyeon's solo and the first song, as they seem totally my type!!!

I now understand why all the girls said their favorite was 'Locked Inside a Door', dang it sounds like a banger

I do hope y’all actually didn’t mean the “disappointment” the songs aren’t even release yet lmao. honestly I really love how diversity this album is. dami's solo has heavy early-mid 2000s rock sounds and i'm here for it!! i get the feeling either locked inside a door or starlight are gonna be my faves! feel like this album is a little more pop than rock this time around, which i'm excited to see - hopefully it's not a permanent genre shift, but i love seeing the girls try something new!

I’m so excited for this comeback and so proud of the girls. I’m sure this album will have a song for everyone! It’s crazy to think that in 5 years DreamCatcher have managed to release: •2 single albums •2 fan songs •8 mini albums • 4 Japanese single albums • 1 Japanese full album •Siyeon’s 1st solo Paradise • Handong’s Chinese solo Dawn • an anime ost • game ost(s) •drama ost (Siyeon+Dami) • and now a SECOND full album including solos for all members(!) It’s been so nice to see support for them only grow over the years and I love how many opportunities they get. I can’t wait for this album and I can’t wait for the music that’s to come after! To me, they’re a legendary girl group.

If there's ONE thing this album showcases, it's Dreamcatcher's ability to master ANY given genre and concept. They can do it ALL. And they can do it PERFECTLY.

Since no one’s talking about it, I will. SIYEON’s solo sounds amazing and I can’t wait to hear the full song of only her vocals!

Their VOCALS like fine wine, getting better by the year, and they already were excellent from the start!! (see vocal practices😁)

Somehow Jiu's Cherry got stuck in my head from listening to those few seconds a couple times 😂

we've only heard 15 seconds of the whole song, isn't it too soon to judge maison? I've been an insomnia for 4 years, I always know the title track never disappoints and there must be a plot twist

I understand that many people stan Dreamcatcher because of their unique sound, but you also need to realise that they are still a Kpop group, hence they are not going to sound as hard as some of you all want them to sound. Kpop is known for their diversity and the sudden changes in concepts and style. Dreamcatcher have been doing rock title track for 5 years so it's understandable that they might want to explore some other genres. It's their right as artists. If you don't like it that's fine but at least save it for yourself and don't spread negativity in the content they post. They have worked hard for this, if you don't like it at least say it somewhere where they can't see it

I kind of agree but I think you don't quite understand the reason people are "worried". It's not only that we're not getting a rock TT, but it's the (seemingly) lack of variety in this album, and the (seemingly) lack of "uniqueness", for the lack of a better word (not a native speaker, sorry). Let me explain. Previous albums had a lot of tracks that weren't Rock, but were VERY innovative and interesting such as In the Frozen, Sleepwalking, And then there was no one left, Trap, Whistle, 4 Memory, Poison Love, and MANY more. It's "classic Dreamcatcher sound" even if none of these songs has Rock elements to it. No one but Dreamcatcher could have made these songs. Here, I don't really get that same feeling. We got 4 ballads and tracks like Playground or No Dot that honestly, at least to me they sound like they could've been released by any other modern gg. It's sad for fans to see that such a 'unique' group is blending in with the rest of the pack mainly because there is absolutely no replacement for Dreamcatcher. So please don't take the words of the 'concerned' fans as hate. I'm still hyped for songs like Starlight (sounds so freaking good honestly it might become one of my all time favorites), JiU's Cherry is also great and maybe MAISON but that might be it for me, and I used to listen to the whole Dreamcatcher albums with no skips.

@@cookiegalletitas I dont completely agree with your take. I feel that you need to separate the solos and the OT7 songs. The solos are meant to be something the girls want to produce in their own styles and what suits them hence why the girls each had a hand in making their solo songs. In the first place the girls are just starting out in helping to produce their songs from these last couple of albums, you cant expect them to be able to produce songs at the same style and level as Leez and Ollunder. More importantly the songs havent even fully dropped yet so we still have to wait and see. Even if it is as you say and it is more mainstream, there are still two more albums to come so at least reserve all judgements until everything comes out.

You can tell how their solos match their own personalities and individuality? so perfectly (well at least that's what I'm getting from these small preview). And I love it. Hoping we get Special Clips for every one of their solos, it would be awesome.

So I just did a last-minute preorder. I guess I’ll be dieting next month. XP

I became interested in Dreamcatcher because of their sound (Minx wasn't really my thing) and have stuck with them from the very beginning because of it. However, this album sounds amazing and I'm glad they're branching out a little bit. Idols, especially from older groups that have been together for a long time (I'm old enough to be first gen-Shinhwa being one of my ults) talk very often about "colors" as a way to describe a different sound or the different taste and sounds of each individual member. This album has a ton of color. Sometimes it isn't feasible or wise to have members branch out into solo albums at certain points in their journey so one way to do it is to have them take solos on group albums. 7 people, 7 sounds, because of course they're all different as individuals. I don't feel this is an abandonment of their "original" sound--just a expansion of their repertoire and what makes them great artists and singers. Probably more fun for them to perform as well! We got peeks of some of this with songs like Jazz Bar, Black or White and Poison Love and they are great songs. I'm not worried about this comeback at all. I always hope the next one will give them their first win but honestly, while it would be nice, I think they know now that their fan base will stick with them regardless. I'm proud that they're more than capable of carrying both types of sound. I'm just ready to hear full songs!

The versatility, the instruments, melodies, the elements, THEIR VOICES, VISUALS AND EVERYTHING are CHEF'S KISS OMG I'M SO EXCITED!! 😍

Everything aside, I'm so happy they are in such a good company that allows them to have solo songs. Do you have any idea how rare that is in the kpop industry??? I've been in kpop since shinhwa era and it's so rare to find a kpop group growing organically with a healthy company like this. Even their more popular group rivals can't say the same.

maison's giving those cool 90s bops and industrial-sounding vibes and i'm living for it! i also love starlight! when a song contains "star" in their title (like loona - star/voice), you know it's gonna be a hell of a bop!

솔로곡 진짜 본인이 잘하는 느낌의 장르를 하는 게 느껴짐

OMG. Just what group would let their individual members do a solo in an actual album!? This is one of the things that make me so proud to be a DC fan! I LOVE LOVE how frequent they come out with new songs/albums but I do worry about the workload they have to go thru (singing and choreography etc etc).
