Try using a sheet of rigid foam from a building supply store. Just cut it to fit the space, then sand off the rough edges. This worked perfectly to level out the hump in my S. Doesn't even weigh a pound. Slept beautifully on my last road trip - even without the wo Asian girls ;^). If you travel in warm climates, get a Napier 6500 hatchback tent. Lots of fresh air and no mosquitoes! Great video, Bjorn. Keep 'em coming!

I'm thinking about getting one, are you pleased with it?

I find a Thermarest pad covered with a memory foam pad to me feels like a normal bed. I slept on that on a floor for a year and a half when I was poor because I was going to move anyway and didn't want to buy furniture. Still I like the way it fixes the hump problem.

I like the one guy and two girls idea.

In times where everybody is crazy-PC I enjoy your natural innocence like speaking the truth and even if the picture gets a little "dirty" I somehow find it almost adorable like imagining 3 small Asians in a nice configuration. Keep it that way, it's perfect, especially nowadays where everybody loses their minds about things that everybody knows that they are inherently true.

Great review Bjorn. I never knew that our model S had a camper mode! It all depends on how much travelling you do - to justify the price. At the end of the day, you only get what you pay for. Quality, comfort and excellent design - all come at a price. It’s a well thought out - (but upmarket) tailor made solution. Let’s wait for the IKEA solution !

Thanks Bjorn. Well done and I agree with you. Inflatable makes more sense. I think there is an ideal opportunity for a combination of an inflatable mattress with some of the Dreamcase features. Would make complete sense for the whole thing to fit in the truck well as you pointed out. Probably wouldn't even need to take up even that much volume...

@azalru Dreamcase looks nice, but curious what makes it worth $890 or so to you? Are there particular features you like that much about it, compared to say a $50-100 foldable mattress from Costco or REI or something?

Still need something for the windows, especially during Norwegian summers!

Björn, mange takk, thank you for all your wonderful videos! One camper question: How do you store your key fob during sleep? I have slept in my Model X a couple of times, but the car insists on sensing the key and thinks it's time to start, and so randomly lights everything up! Very annoying. :-( It even happened when I wrapped up the key in alu foil and put it all inside a tin box that I stored far in the back end of the car. I wish the key fob could have an on-off button. How do you manage this problem? Hilsen fra Olle i Sverige.

I have questions…are the 2015 model S and your model S the same dimensions? Will it fit my 2015? (I had a 2022 model x plaid but sold it to pay lots of bills and found an excellent low mileage 2015 updated screen etc that comes with the lifetime free supercharging so I went for it) How tall are you? I’m 6ft tall (1.83m) and a little concerned I won’t have room to lay fully… also what are the dimensions of the mattress fully spread out? In case I can’t justify the price of this and want to try and figure out a dupe…

I would love to see solar panels on all houses on the world, that would be so easy to do and you wouldnt even need extra space to do it.

for this "dreamcase" i see 2 problems: it ist too big to carry - and it has a intense price in the tff-forum (raffiniert) they did order some wedges, to cover the step in the trunk - a additional inflatable matress and you are fine, at a fraction of the costs the advantage of the wedges (2) - you can put them in the lower section of the trunk, without loosing any storage room in the trunk

I’m 6’1, would I fit comfortably ?

Note* 2021 Model S Plaid has a complete Flat/flush floor with rear seats folded. There is No bump or lip. It can Not use the Dreamcase hard shell, other than just the bed. The hard shell thus is only a carry case and is not used for the bed.

Deploying it in rain will be very bad idea - too many thing you need to remove (where in rain?) and then to put back. Bjorn, your style of sleeping was better.

does this box fit in the frunk?

I would be using it everyday. I work during the week and stay home the weekends. So I would be using it a lot.

Mm. You don't exactly look comfortable propped up as you are. An air bed would certainly push you higher up towards the roof. But maybe a double layer of memory foam mattress wouldn't take up much space when driving and would give luxury padding when sleeping? I think I'll try that first with my Skoda Superb Combi. The coldness is worth thinking about. My solution would be to just use our best sleeping bags unzipped for a top and bottom layer. PLus wear socks! Thanks for showing us.

So, 100k plus car and now you don’t have any cash for a hotel or a tent. ‘Why pay more than you need’ said on a €1000 plastic box and piece of foam. Like the videos but totally disagree with your sleeping options.

865 EUR - plus evidently the privacy glass/blinds to add. And you're still sleeping in your ± 100,000 EUR car.... No comment, we'll stick to the comfort of a hotel room - preferablo fo course a hotel with Destination Charger ;) !

Dear Bjørn, yes, I DO get the point about that very special, and very limited, usage. The question is - the points in nature you can reach, driving a Model S - are they really safe enough that you want to sleep in a relatively expensive car?? Maybe in your civilized and peaceful Norway (and even there I doubt it), but in most other parts of the world I wouldn't do it - and also not in tents or RV's. I HAVE known the charm of "wild camping" - but that was decades ago. Keep up the good work, and keep the videos coming!!

The deamcase is damn heavy and will reduce the mileage of the car. Also that shiny surface is gaudy. Looks like it was designed by a dude with big chrome wheels. They should have gone with a simple finish. Not to mention all those scratches that it gets. The price is a rip off for what it does.

20 kg extra won't make any difference in consumption unless you put in on the roof outside the car.

I still cant believe people other than Bjorn would actually sleep in a tesla, I prefer hotels!

Feher Alzubaydi yes teslas seem to break down quite a lot so it could be very handy to have the bed in the back so you can have a quick nap while the tow truck comes to pick you up...... Sorry TB
