Dream MTB workshop on a budget!💰

#mtb #mtblife #workshop
This is my Dream Shop, and the story of how I made it all come together on a budget. In hindsight, I wish I had documented a bit more of the early build, but I still stoked to finally share the end result after 2.5 years of patiently hunting down available scraps and searching for the right pieces for the best possible prices keeping this build out budget friendly but not budget compromised.
I'd love to have you come take a journey with me through my process, and join me for future episodes here in the new shop.
Items used for my buildout:
Bayaka Floating Shelf & Towel Dispenser: amzn.to/3at5Nft
Gorilla Grip Stainless Magnetic Strip: amzn.to/3LXxPMY
Craftsman 39 Bin Organizer: low.es/3PMc7Po
Crafstman 26" Steel Tool Chest: low.es/3lQihQI
Halo Recessed LED lights: amzn.to/38TeBLb
LED Strip Lights: amzn.to/3LRdwRn
You can also show your support for the channel by shopping with the those who support me. Just tell them I sent you!
Shaun at N+1 bikes has an impressive inventory of bikes and parts with unbeatable service. I trust he'll take great care of you: n1bikes.com/

Yea buddy! Nice seeing Shawn in there! My shop reorganization is daunting to say the least. I've been putting it off because of how settled I am in such a small space, there is stuff in every nook and cranny! One of these days I'll have to explode it all and get it under control, maybe even look nice too.

What a nice renovation to your basement ! It would be really useful if you also make a follow up video showing/teaching us the essential tools that every mtb rider needs and also the less important tools needed to assemble a complete bike .. many of us want to buy a frame and used parts in order to assemble a bike in a more cost efficient way but we find the whole process of collecting the necessary tools a bit frustrating as we are not experienced bike mechanics.. this way we also get to keep all the tools for future use .. anyway , great video ! keep it up !

I've been needing to build out my own space for a long time. Since moving to michigan, my garage has been a mess... Always like checking out other riders spaces to pick and choose what I like / need vs something that's a luxury item.

It’s fun to poke around and see what options people come up with. Eventually I’ll tackle more organization within the tool drawers. I actually picked up a craftsman triple stack rolling drawer set for a great price used from a friend as well. It fit perfectly on the other side of the left partition wall. It houses other items like solvents, paints, non-bike specific tools and will act as overflow for other less frequently used bike shop items like bleed kits, presses, etc.

I think that paneling is making a comeback. Any finished basement from the 70/80's had that stuff. Smart move using the paneling. Easy to remove unless someone uses liquid nails. hehe Half the wood in the big box stores are scraps. Warped boards... knots in the wrong places. It's a nightmare going thru the lumber trying to find something useable.

Any chance you remember any names? Glad you dig the shop too. It's been a huge bonus to finally have an organized place to work and also film. @@SemiSendy Gosh, you know, I don't remember their names. They were in a white sprinter van, two guys and two girls. One of the girls was admiring my bike and the drivetrain and said she gets one pro deal a year. If that helps... One of the guys I though was Brazilian but he said he was from Mexico, if that helps. He said he knew you too. Sometimes I'm bad with names and this is one of those cases. :(

What do you think of that Ripmo V2 vs your Sentinel?

  • @SemiSendy

    @SemiSendy

    2 жыл бұрын

They are very different bikes. The Ripmo reminds me a lot more of the hightower with its more nimble geometry, but it’s more poppy and has an overall more supportive suspension platform than the HTv2. It’s also incredibly plush in comparison to both bikes. The Sentinel is a bit more of a mini dh bike. It can take big hits really well, and it’s got a ton of stability at speed. It’s also confidence inspiring on really steep tech, but it is slower and takes a bit of wrestling through tighter corners. The Ripmo is one of the most balanced feeling platforms I’ve ridden to date, both on and off the ground. Definitely a bike I gel incredibly well with.
