When I was little, I spent hour upon hour looking at my Mom's book about gnomes (by Wil Huygen.) I especially loved the diagrams of the gnomes' house in the roots of the tree -- so cozy and homey! And the clothing that they wore! I used to save the pointy hats after a birthday party and cover them with construction paper and wear them as my gnome hats. So, I suppose I am a gnome!

Breath takingly beautiful you are a natural. You seem to be fortunate enough to have found your niche in life and you go with it. You asked what we liked, an I would say, your makeup truly took my breath away. It is kinda of funny how today I was visiting a Swedish town here in the United States and I actually had stopped and took pictures of some huge oak leaves that I had seen so, I guess I will be carrying those around because they are on my phone. 😁 and well I have a birthday coming up around the solstice and my tree is Oak as well. I dressed up for my friends wedding as a fairy a few years ago, I was an autumn maple fairy :) I love seeing your process of design to costume. Was the fairy festival fun? I had a friend who went before and said it wasn’t quite as good as she thought it would be.

You looked lovely and so enchanting! My family orignated from Ireland and love our enchanted history. My dad's tree is the oak, mine is the ash, and my sister's is Hawthorne. My sister and I made wands from fallen branches from our individual trees. I am obsessed with trees! I am always bringing leaves, pine cones, acorns, fallen seeds into the house and placing them in special areas around my home. Some I have are 20 years old! The stone acorn at the end?!! 🥰😍🥰😍

I regularly dress up as characters and head off to my local park to take pictures (weird hobby, I know!) and I often got strange looks and people coming up to me. When I say ‘I’m a photographer and it’s just a bit of fun’. No one has ever been nasty.

The others costumes didn't look handmade (maybe that wasn't a requirement?) and at least one looked like an alien fairy.
