Draymond Green - Premier Passer

Спорт

"Draymond Green has the decision making of an elite point guard." Those were Jeff Van Gundy's words early on as the Golden State Warriors went for the second best start in NBA history. After Steph Curry, Draymond is the most important player for the world champion Warriors. It’s his decision making that allows them to really make defenses pay when they blitz the guard in an effort to rush the ball out of Steph Curry’s hands. Steph is so good that he draws the trapping double so far out that it allows the rest of the team to attack 4 on 3. It is here that Dray’s decision making really shines through. Yes, they have numbers, but if he picks the wrong pass, the defense can recover, and the advantage is lost. He hardly ever makes the wrong choice, however, and that’s resulted in radical success.
I know that I rave about Draymond Green all the time, but there’s just something special about a guy who can space the floor with his shooting, have enough of a post game to punish guys on the switch, scrap for the ball, guard literally every position, set bone rattling screens to free up the sweet shooters Golden State has, AND has the ability to make the right calls, but the accuracy to throw those passes. Flexibility, but with force. Rugged, but resourceful. Burly, but brilliant. That’s how I would describe Draymond and that’s a big part of what makes him the heartbeat of Golden State’s behemoth.

    People say he gets a lot of assists because he got steph and klay to pass to. Although it's quite accurate to make such assumptions but that's not entirely the case. Another major reason is because of the system and the constant player movement and the constant cutting that warriors guards and wings make. i believe player movement is a lost art in nba today because nowadays, players are stationary and it becomes easier to defend guys like that. Due to the constant movement, the presence that curry creates by drawing the double team and draymond high bb IQ, he is able to make the right read. Tremendous basketball player. thanks for your videos man.

    Draymond is arguably the most valuable player on GSW. He is not the best scorer. But he passes, rebounds, defends/helps and motivates. You need more than just great scoring. He opens up the game for his teammates.

    Along with Draymond's passing I also notice the outstanding positioning and efficiency of Shaun Livingston. Very important in the warriors core during this time.

    he turns disadvantages into advantages. He used to be a small PF, now he's a big SF in small ball.

    This Warriors team, with Curry, Thompson, Green, Iguodala, and Bogut, really reminds me of the 80's Showtime Lakers. Green right now is more like Magic, Curry is more like Scott, Thompson is more like Cooper, and Iguodala is more like Worthy.

    @EvinGualberto

    +xavier xlopez1989@yahoo.com I'm still unclear on which, so I'll just do both. The ideal 5 man lineup for this season would be Draymond, Iguodala, Barnes, Klay & Steph, because they are literally unguardable. LITERALLY. Top 5 passers at every position would be Marc Gasol, Draymond, LeBron, Harden, and then Curry/Paul (take your pick).

    +xavier xlopez1989@yahoo.com OH. I gotcha. If we're talking pure fire power potential alone (plus obviously the defense wouldn't be bad either): Anthony Davis, LeBron, KD, Klay OR Westbrook, and Steph. I say Klay or Westbrook because it depends on what you want. Obviously Russ is explosive on both ends, but Klay is solid and you can't go wrong with shooting, floor spacing AND great defense at the 2 spot. I know Harden & Kawhi would be tough to omit (and of course, all the great Centers that I just left out), but that's what I'm going with
