    Lisa, this the second viewing of this great video. Your work is fantastic, but it is always fantastic. I appreciate how you did the background in color pencil and then went into the owl with great details. This whole composition is so well done and works so well. One of the best parts of viewing your videos is reading the comments that others submit. You have reached so many and have inspired so many who have viewed your work. The 75,000 who follow is a fantastic number, but all the lives that you touched with such positive inspiration is 'countless'. Your value to those is 'priceless'. Many will study the work of the masters, but the artist that will have the most impact on their progress will be Lisa, the artist behind Lachri Fine Arts. Thanks Lisa for all you do.

    I got some really cool art books (that I asked for), The Art of Iain McCaig (big role model to me!), Anatomy for the Artist and one with nice photos of Animal skeletons about evolution n stuff. :) And my mother got me a tiny (A7, a bit bigger than 2,5x3,5") watercolor block :3 and a gift coupon for a portable stool thingy for plein air painting which is awesome! I can really use that :D

    I have to commend you for this video because, and I'm not saying this just because I AM a big fan, I've seen most of your colored pencil speed-drawings on animals/fur/owls/cats and this I think is the only (?) video which actually closes in so much on the eyes and on the feathers :D Not totally sure if this is the first, but it was nice to see the workings really really up close. Thank you!

    I got some little sheets of papyrus and some various little Egyptian stencils. Which is hilarious because I already had over 50 sheets of papyrus and I've been working on expanding my hieroglyphs. X3 But, the stencils are still great for backgrounds and it's nice to not have to cut down the papyrus to that particular size. Still cut some of my bigger sheets for bookmarks though.

    +Brianna Sanchez I don't use any myself so I can't recommend what is best, but if you go to the art store they will have several listed for colored pencil. Make sure to use it on a test area first though because some sprays don't play nicely with some pencils.

    Hi Lisa! I love your work. When drawing animals do you always start with the eye? And if so why?

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    8 жыл бұрын

    +emma clowes Usually, because it's a fast and easy section, and it generally will have some of the darkest values of the entire piece in it, so that helps me judge my values for the rest of the piece. I usually will start with either the ear or the eye.

    Help teacher! I joined Patreon a few days ago, hence "Teacher,".........Lisa, I've found that I am using my Polychromos up quickly. I want to keep a sharp point and have to sharpen them constantly.. I'm wondering if I should change to a harder pencil. I have a sample of Luminance and don't seem to have that problem with them, not sure why this would be either as they are wax based. I am brand new to CP but I have drawn for years and use 2H and 4H a lot lately. Any suggestions? I have ordered a 120 pc. set but will cancel it and get something else if this will continue to be an issue for me.

  • @Lachri

    @Lachri

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Judith A Rowland The polychromos for me last the longest. When you need a finer point but there is still a decent amount of lead left, use sandpaper to sharpen the tip instead of sharpening in a sharpener each time. This will make them last a lot longer. The type of paper you're using could make a difference too. If it's too rough you will burn through the pencils faster.

    +Hamza Majeed, I would highly suggest that you view all of Lisa's videos. You can pick up so much. As you watch each one, they will support the ones you have previously viewed. Lisa does have a lot of videos and covers so much in each one. As Lisa said, the patreon channel will have longer videos that give you a chance to view the work in more detail. You do have a goal and now you can go for it.
