Dragons STRESS Over 'Groundbreaking' Tattoo Removal | Dragons' Den

Ойын-сауық

Barbara and Richard Simpson-Birks were directly contacted and bombarded by "the chap that invented this magic fluid". Barbara and Richard are seeking £250,000 in return for a 10% equity stake in 'Tattoo Erase'. This product is the first of its kind to market but will the Dragons want to get into bed with the couple after they crafty negotiation tactics are exposed?
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Secret fluid it's nothing more than sour milk. I've used this method of tattoo removal for over 45 years. Just tattoo sour milk into the skin where the tattoo is. It scabs over pulling the old ink out of the skin. It certainly works but the work needs to be heavy to enable a thick scab to form. So don't forget there is no secret solution its just nothing more than sour milk.

The dragons definitely let Barbara off of the hook for over-promising the opportunity of the business and blamed her husband for delivering more realistic answers that they didn't like. She led them to believe they were buying equity in the worldwide patent/business. She led them to believe the response and interest was higher than it actually was. She said they owned 100% of the patent when the fact is the German inventor owned half. They should've gone after her for bamboozling them.

Maybe a lot of critical info was left out in the edit, but I'd certainly want to know... - How safe is it on human skin? Have medical trials been done? Has it been approved by the appropriate authorities/agencies in England, the UK, and beyond? - Does the chemical have a negative impact on the environment? How is it stored? How is it disposed? How long does it last (or stay potent)? - How many treatments does a client need? - How quickly does it work? Why no demonstration with live models (or a before-after scene, if the product takes months to work)? How about a video? - Despite it being patented, could a savvy business rival reverse engineer it after obtaining some of the substance? Couldn't they then just modify it slightly to avoid the patent?

People are more likely to cover up old tattoo with new one rather than removing it. There is a small market for removing tattoos but with the trend being that everyone and their mum gets tattoos its getting more and more normal to have one, therefore the need for removal is even smaller because most people who remove tattoos do it because they have it in "innapropriate" place for corporate world. And the more normal it is to have one the less need for this is.

Any tattoo removal system is basically going to scar because tattoos are inserted underneath the skin. In order to breakdown the ink you have to get through those layers. The only way to do that from outside is going to damage your skin. Look at anyone who's had tattoos removed. There's always scarring left over. Some very minimal but scarring all the same. Depends on your age, health, lifestyle etc....

Legit question: Why is Simon getting heat from Rachel? It’s a legitimate technique to put in half the fund with negotiably good equity returns and also lowering the overall risk. I do believe that the shared-investment tactic was not a new thing in the Den even at that time. Then why is Simon getting “put your money where your mouth is” barb? He likes the product/idea, he just wants to invest at a position, he’s comfortable with.

So in the end if he believed in it that much, he should have pushed all his chips in. But instead he was mad at others that they didn't back the other half of his pipe dream with people that were withholding info and figures. If someone starts out lying to you, how can you trust them. Also, if you were paying attention, you would have heard him at the end saying that they would have asked for more money for them to buy into the global rights. They were hoping to get someone to buy into legit just launching what she thought was going to be a franchise. All the while if they bought into just the UK market, they could still let someone else lauch franchises in another region. All the while getting two paychecks (one from the franchises and one for the patient)

The 'secret fluid' is milk and the actual inventor was a Russian guy, but he only patented in Russia, Ukraine and Canada. You draw milk into a sterile medical syringe, with which you need to chop the entire tattoo around the perimeter. This procedure must be repeated for 2-3 months. At the end of the cycle of procedures, suppuration will begin on the chipped area, due to which the skin will peel off. A scar will definitely appear, so regular disinfection of the tattoo and sterile dressings are needed. That's the secret method and the white fluid is just milk...

Their technology is dead however. So investing would've been a huge mistake.

While Simon W could see the opportunity (tattoo removal is big business), he was completely wrong about Doug R probing about what kind of deal is in fact on offer (national/international). The entrepreneurs did not present well, nor knew the figures. The lady comes across arrogant on a number of occasions, but especially so with the remark that she’ll have words with her husband at home. None of the dragons asked about the technical USP that differentiates the business from other tattoo removal businesses. These older episodes are hilarious from so many angles.

Those tattoo removals really don't work. There is always some scars that show the underlying impressions of the original tatoo.
