I had all intentions of designing a medieval unit study for my 6yo but when I decided on mainly AO Level 1 for First Grade, I couldn't see how we could accomodate more in our already tight schedule. How did you fit this in? Was it simply a matter of reading the stories in your theme basket or did you have other activities / learning around it?

I would consider these books just fun free reads for our family, I didn’t schedule them into our official morning lesson time. The picture books are not long, they can be read in one sitting, or I think I have sometimes read them in 2 parts, putting a bookmark in for a 2nd night or reading time. We didn’t plan other activities with it, I just let them do creative play with whatever they want to from whatever we read. If your schedule is tight, these could also be used as just-for-fun reading on a break!
