I miss the short change of view and my pawns yelling and rallying when this kicks in. "It's fallen, now, ATTACK!" "THE GOAT IS SILENCED!" "It lies still, THE BEAST IS OURS, MASTER!" something like this. Or maybe my pawns just don't feel it the way i do.

It's weird that they made the pawns feel so much more alive in almost every way in the second game, but they forgot to bring this aspect. Something about hearing my main pawn yell "THE LION IS FALLEN!" as this song started was just peak fucking hype. If there's one thing Pawns in DD1 knew it was when the tide of the battle turned. I miss that.

Many additions to pawn dialogue are great, but I sincerely miss them calling out big monsters each time we start combat with one, as well as pointing out with it is near death. The camera shift when one is weakened and this theme plays is also missed

Grabbing a Griffin by the neck as it tries to fly away stabbing it like a madman with the Fighter skill and it plummets to the ground when the crescendo hits its peak had me in goosebumps

Spent 2 hours last night fighting a drake on my way to the border patrol town. 3 deaths later I retreated, hired new pawns with different vocations from my previous run, hunted ox for the big meat, camped for the buffs and crafted better curatives. Came back and fought the fucker again. After being so close to death more times than I can count, i finally brought it down to it's last health bar, and this banger played. I felt so powerful. Everything felt so epic. It was the final struggle, and I won. This is Dragon's Dogma

I think something like this is what makes players who love Dragon's Dogma fall in love with it to begin with. Every Dragon's Dogma fan who loves these games has a story like this to share. This is what makes it feel visceral, what sets it apart from other RPGs.

For me it was Arc of Might! Dragon fell on the floor, still had 4 healths bars left, One good Arc of Might to his heart ate 3/4 of his health away..! and this theme started playing! I was getting chills

I like this version too, just the lack of electric guitar makes it feel like it's missing something. Even the DDO one has electric guitar, and it does makes a difference.

It’s annoying because DD1 fans were shitting on DDOnline’s use of electric guitar. So now they cut it out and they’re shitting on it not being in. DD fans can be the worst, lol.

The original had booming percussion, vocals, and an electric guitar, making it feel very grand and hype-inducing. Many people seem to dislike their removal from the spotlight, or full removal in the guitar's case. I for one appreciate the quiter and more orchestral approach of DD2's version. It doesn't feel like a victorious ballad, but rather a song to get you in the zone and make you play with the focus you need to secure your triumph.

It's good, but not as good as the first one. It's called End of the Struggle/Imminent Triumph for a reason, it's not just something that gets you into the zone to secure our victory. It is OUR theme and it's played not if we'll win but WHEN

I think the reason why its so much more silent is because its a "reprise", and reading from some theory I read online (that this world of DD2 is actually a continuation of DD1 where the Seneschal abandon his duties so the Pathfinder make a substitute cycle), this version of end of the struggle is just a substitute version of the real end of the struggle, hence Reprise

Okay, so now that I've played the game a lot more, I've realized that none of the fights past level 30 are difficult enough to make you get serious. So, uh, the song does nothing.

Nothing quite like literally dragging a large enemy to the ground right and this theme kicks in and your whole squad starts beating the ever living shit out of it.

Riding on the back of a Griffin stabbing it until it falls out of the sky into the ocean and we both go down to meet the Brine. I would have been so pissed if I died. 😂

i just like to picture my warrior class arisen and his pawns made out of Sorcerer,Strider, and Archer just blitzing a cyclops.

I dont know what it is, but I kinda find myself more drawn towards this version. I can't think of any other way to explain my feelings other than the original feeling like raw testosterone heroism while this has a more pure honorable heroism to it. We went from peak to peak and I love it. Im so happy there exists not 1 but 2 versions for me to enjoy and just bask in all of their glory. WHAT A PIECE OF MUSIC!!

I like this one more too. The gaps in this one where those guitar riffs played in the original makes it flow better in my opinion. 1:03 is such an example. It being pure instrumental and choir makes it sound more emotional and overwhelming, more powerful. 1:42 is another example. The lack of multiple modern instruments playing makes it sound more foreboding, more ominous.

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't really notice that the electric guitar was missing. I thought it was the exact same theme. I guess I was too distracted beating the hell out of an ogre or my mind filled in the gaps.

I bought the classic ost pack from the store for like 2$, changes a lot of the music and the boss themes to the original. Pretty sick running into a griffin/drake in 2 and having the better music from 1. I think it changes to the original version of this theme too.

​​​@@vivid8979​Different music direction, the composer for DD2 also worked on Monster Hunter Rise before, I don't know why they didn't got the original composer back, he even worked on the Netflix anime but not on DD2. The new soundtrack ins't bad (there are a lot of bangers) but something was definitely lost on the presentation thanks to the different music style.

Still amazing, but just doesn’t have as much energy as the original, it was pure goosebumps!

Where's the electric guitar?!?! This version still gets me hyped up but come on!

So I was playing- Fighting a griffin and all, My pawn started to blast it with fire while it’s trying to fly away and causes it to fall down. But we were near a cliff and it fell down the ground below. I didn’t have no safe way down and I didn’t want that thing escaping me again So what do I do? I leaped and as I leaped off THAT part played as I fell and grabbed onto its head surprisingly it counted as a hit and I knocked it back down as it was getting up. Never before have I felt like such a badass in a game

Only thing I regret is killing off that big beastie just when the music kicks in.

They took out the guitar rift. That's what made the original so unique and awesome.

A very good reimagining of the original, especially the brief phrase at 2:52! But the original had a set of drums/percussion that just drove your heart rate up in a good way, it's absolutely unbeatable. It falls short because of it.

I used Breach Surge on him and it works as well lmao.

This version sounds so goddamn restrained compared to DD1’s. That synth brass is canny as hell, the percussion is so tame, and the omission of the electric guitar in the soundtrack is a musical crime…..

They nerfed the whole OST😭😭 I played so far like 50~hrs and not once except this one was memorable. DD1 had cassardis, the character creation theme, gransys, gran soren. It seems they went with the breath of the wild route or DD2.😢

Misses the oomph of the first one also misses the oomph of the theatrict mod version and is downright nothing compared to the ddo version unfortunatly, they honestly should have taken the ddo one and tried to improve on this perfect version, but alas they didnt. Ddo stays the best version whti the theatric version of it coming in second.

Like, the super edgy anime guitars that were thrown in before are completely missing, which tells me they wanted this game to be much more serious, and less chūni? 😂

Its more lotr/hobbit personally. especially with the aesthetic in the elven race, both in appearance and architecture. But they did try more of a western approach which I don't mind. Kinda unique though, mixing JRPG fantasy into western fantasy.

@@eskrig5111 Eh, to be fair the original DD was about the same. I guess it got spiced up in Dark Arisen but otherwise it's always been a bunch of goblins and harpies with the same old minibosses.

Maaaaan if there's any one thing I had to point to that worse than the original game, it really is the soundtrack. Almost every track in the original just absolutely hits, most of the tracks in 2 are really forgettable, and even when they use a track from the first game it's still just not as good. A real shame

This version is so much cleaner, I love it!!! The one from DD1 was great, but the electric guitar just drowned everything out. This one sounds professional, and they got a whole orchestra🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

They didn't get an orchestra though, it's all sampled. They actually had orchestra/performers for a lot of the music in DD1, not here though, it's all VST, unlike the original track which has real choir and musicians.

I'm in-between on this song. It's ok, But I love Dogma 1 better.

There was Electric Guitar in several songs from the Original, which made the Soundtrack stand out, I'd describe DD1's Soundtrack as "Fantasy Metal"

Monster Hunter Rise composer butchered the soundtrack, who let bro cook?

Lumpyest track in the game bruh what is that...

DD2 overall soundtrack is a letdown compared to DD1 honestly. Not saying it's bad, it just lacks the absolute punch DD1 had. Don't even mention the atrocious DD2 Character Creation compared to DD1 Character creation banger.
