Hey guys - really, really important - Kough is not the right NPC, at least on PS5 or for me. It's Grisha, the vendor on the other side of the area. I spent hours and hours and hours giving Kough flowers every day, looking all over the map for more flowers and waiting for my picks to respawn after 7 days, and it turns out that it wasn't meant for Kough (the innkeeper). If anyone is struggling with this, I suggest offering the flowers to Grisha, 3 days in a row. That worked for me. Still great advice though! Makes my pawn way more popular ❤

This is best skill for main pawn because there's WAY less random woodland wordsmith pawns to find in this game than the other ones.

I got 2 of them by giving 1 flower to each the inn keeper and the store owner for 3 days

it would heve been cool if any of the elves could give you this ability

Man there's a couple of things in this game that it seems there'd be no way of figuring out by myself but I don't want to look up guides. Seriously, that's insane. No wonder I've not found any other specializations besides Chirurgeon. I'm going to try all of the shopkeeper npc's in different locations n see if that gets me any others

it's the female merchant who gives you the tome and you can just sit on the bench next to her and rest to pass the time.

I did the following, 1 flower then rest, 1 flower then rest, 1 flower then rest, then when I talked to her, she gave me the scroll. I think this is either a user error or you may have negatively affected the affection. Could also be a bug lol

Is it bugged? I gave her like 3 jasper and 10 bunches of flowers. Spent like 20k sleeping. Even got the PlayStation trophy first maxing out a persons affinity

You better be careful using the same pawns because if you get one that everyone uses chances are itll get dragon plague eventually and then your fucked, if you dont know what dragon plague is look it up, its the dumbest mechanic in the game imo

​@BegitoBuru it really doesn't matter. Plague is rare and the signs are obvious before it gets dangerous. If pawn has glowing red eyes, just don't recruit it, if you haven't gotten a pop-up, you've never recruited one until then, and for those after, if it gets sassy, throw yours pawns in to water. Easy

@@BegitoBuru again, it's an easy mechanic. Most don't see it in their plsythroughs and it's not about right or wrong. The symptoms I mentioned are fact. Anyone who gets their towns killed with it is either an idiot or wanted to know what'd happen

That archer guy never went to the arbor and his dad never showed up so both are just missing from my game now

Better way what i found was to give 2 flowers to one of the female archers just outside of the inn. Wasted 10+ flowers on the innkeeper and got nothing.

Grisha on PS5, be aware of it.

You must be on Xbox. To start conversations on PS5 is circle button by default. I personally won't choose this option because I have a female arisen and don't want her affinity for me heightened. Good tip tho.

It should work with anything that has an increase on affection when given to npc's. However, flowers are the safest as they're free to farm everywhere on the map

@@toddmailen3674 i honestly keep all my jaspers and onyx stones in my storage for if i come across something i need them for specifically. For anything affection related i use flowers.

On PC it's "Y" by default.

HOW SHOULD PEOPLE HAVE KNOWN THIS?! I hate having to look at guides! I want to explore and shit myself, but id never figure this one out lol

@@DosukaGaming thats what i did when i got to the riddle birdlady! I had to resist searching for the answeres on google! So i fucked around and messed up one riddle, and now ill never know what was in that huge chest in the middle

I used the Tomb but my pawn still doesn't translate ? I've tried giving more flowers to get another tomb (from the same women) and no joy! :(

That seems like a bug. Using the tome should automatically teach your pawn the language. I’m afraid i wouldn’t know how to fix that 😅

I got the woodlands specialization on my pawn early then at some point she learnt a new specialization and it replaced woodlands specialization. Now she can't translate elvish at all. This is not a bug, there's just no way to change pawn specializations at the moment.

@@aawsome69 If you want your pawn to speak elvish again then gift another elf 3 bunches of flowers , they will give you another tomb. You can do this more than once.

Just choose the option give gift

Gift are only effective once a day. If you give them more on the same day is wasted

nope. didnt work for me at all. gave her 3 bunches, slept between, did nothing to negatively impact affinity. it's extra infuriating because no flowers seem to be spawning anywhere for me

There must be something wrong. I’ve tried this exact method on 3 different accounts/saves now. Works like a charm everytime. Have you slept full nights, or have you just dozed off on the bench?

Its actually easier to just give her 3 jasper :)

Yep, anything that will increase the affection of an NPC works. However, i chose to show flowers as they’re obtained the easiest throughout the map.

How to give gifts? I don’t understand where the hell to press on PS5. I can only either buy or sell things. There’s option to give gift anyone.

Press square after initiating a conversation. Don’t click any of the dialogue menu options. Just press square

I think this is stupid. Pawns should at least have more than 1 specialization at once. After 80 hours you get sick of the repetitive dialogue. So the specialization aphonite was a godsent. But now i can't have her be a forager or anything else without getting rid of her aphonite specialization, which is basically something that allows her to never speak unless spoken to. How is this even a specialization? It should be something you should simply be able to command them to do. So either my pawn shuts the f**k up, or knows a whole Elven language? C'mon.... And why can't we the player simply learn it ourselves? We can learn all manner of complex spells and skills, but not 1 damn language? And i don't understand why we can't actually search for pawns with particular specialization. I would like other pawns with the aphonite specialization.

Bullshit. I have done the same and still i got nothing. Use over 20 flowers and been sleeping and used so much gold and becurse its a sleep in i cant go back to get gold back by reset. Just find one to translate if you need something there. Learn it is to much in this stupid game
