please finish it and do the post-game! this game is very heartwarming and the real ending made me cry actually.

My first Dragon Quest game I ever played was surprisingly Dragon Quest Heroes II. But after seeing this, I so need a Switch so I can have this one as my first foray into the DQ Main Series!

That's typically how Dragon Quest titles are. DQIV was The Chapters of the Chosen. DQV was Hand of the Heavenly Bride. DQVI was Realms of the Reverie. DQVII was Fragments of the Forgotten Past. DQVIII was The Journey of the Cursed King. DQIX was Sentinels of the Starry Skies. We usually just refer to them using their number or roman numeral. Dragon Quest 5 or V, and so on.

Got the ps4 version but I want to play exclusively the 2D mode so I am grabbing it again.

Releasing on the same day as the anniversary of my fathers death. I will definitely get this day one and will cherish it. A special game on a special day

Personally, this game when I played on ps4 last year, to be one of the greatest video games ever made. I can’t wait to do it again!

The ps4 version had midi ost which pissed me off. Have fun switch owners. Great rpg

I, II, and III are already on PS4 in Japan. Not sure if Square Enix plans to port and localize them to the Switch. But given the inclusion of the Hero in Smash, they probably should.

@@jon1184 Exactly. I'd like for them to re-release the Dragon Quest games like the Final Fantasy games. 1 by 1 but have them all available on modern consoles. Ideally, I'd like the FF and DQ games to be released on disc for preservation and collecting purposes.

No, each installment outside of the first three have their own story. So, regardless of whichever you choose you’re going to start playing Dragon Quest.

@@shattermelon496 namely the original, anime series (which I like, don't hate), dance spin off and hoping to play Q2 soon, the last remaining 3DS games. Also played Sonic Forces again for the Joker costume. This I'm not sure if I'll get into it, I'm more into Final Fantasy games, especially 7 and I might get the same feeling with this game when I rented the Witcher III, giving me a "meh".

How do this work? Switch controllers know when they're moving but not how they're moving so we could not sword

Dav Dav any game in the series would work from ds remakes of the snes titles in the to the 3ds remakes of the ps titles to this franchise doesn’t follow trends and doesn’t really change but had actually cutscenes on the nes and many other things that no had other rpgs had so just try one game and understand what is great about this series

japanese dub, orquestrated soundtrack, extra story content, extra dungeons, 2d mode, option to speed up battles. you don't need to buy it but it will be the best version of the game for sure.
