And thus the cycle of the spin-off being more popular than the mainline series begins.

Bought the game recently and I can confirm that the game is very addictive and engaging. I'm currently on the mining island. I hope that this review will encourage people to play this game and have lots of fun!

I have been waiting for dqb3 for a while and I hope it comes out in 2024

Bought today because of this review. I knew it had to be more from what people were saying. I loved the demo, felt like a real DQ game

If you enjoyed the first Dragon Quest Builders, you'll love this one. It's the same basic foundation with a bunch of new features added on. Can't recommend the game highly enough. It's a long game though so I beat a short game on my back log each time I reach a new main island. This kept me from getting burnt out. I completed the main story and plan on unlocking the remaining islands. Great game.

DQB3 needs to have all the things from DQB2 unlock at the start (the hair, the tools) and the option to change body types (hate bring builder and not bodybuilder like the krumdul duo said) AND a shooting from DQB1 (fire and ice bullet)

I played this too and it was amazing to have multiple genres put together in one. More titles should be like this...

I just finished the 8 hour demo for DQXI. So excited! This will be my first mainline DQ game, and I'm only playing it because I love both Builders games so much.

Wanted to get this game years ago just played it today and I’m hooked

One of my favourite games ever. So glad you finally had a chance to play it! It’s a fantastic game for the Steam Deck, although you have to run in desktop mode otherwise it stutters!

the first game have one thing over the second... the bases feelt more like my creations bc I was not forced to build this massive things in them that decided for me what I wanted them to feel like... but this is minor thing and the fact I can go back to every town and the game no longer plays as I just never left them was major plus for me... I saved a world and now I can live with it building it more and more :> (already sinked over 150 into DQB2 and I still have things I want to build : D )

This game is fantastic, it makes the first game seem like a joke in comparison. I never actually beat the first game as I got stuck in Chapter 3 by running out of healing items, making grinding for healing items and food a massive chore. That probably had been fixed in this game, in fact I've almost never ran out of healing items.

Nice review, this game looks so cool, I really want to play it but had to give it up to buy Fire Emblem (my GOTY thus far), hopefully I will buy it when I get money enough.

Your review convinced me but damn i wished Square start porting more dq games to pc

This sounds freaking my type. My only real gripe about the first one was that every chapter you have to rebuild a new town from scratch. But now they've remedied that and added TOWER DEFENSE? Hellz yeah!

Oh dang. This'll be a good review. I like DQB2!

I got this game and honestly it retains everything we love of Dragon quest and adds a new flair to it I want a DQB3 but I hear the Creator won't do any more because of how much hardwork it was making this one

I don’t think I can ever return to the first builders game after finishing this almost everything from the first game was fixed here The best thing about this game for me the townspeople ACTUALLY HELP YOU this was my biggest gripe with the first game you did all the building all they did was occasionally cook something but here I was dreading when they revealed those Massive blueprints but was pleasantly surprised to find out all I had to do was make the blocks them to show them how to place them then they did the rest Then the smaller things most of the villagers actually helping driving back monster attacks just give them a weapon and they are good to go then if your town was damaged immensely They fix it automatically, The sprint button was a godsend, the glider was so much fun to use, water was no longer a death sentence bosses were much more interesting to fight and speaking of fighting you don’t have to worry about losing health cause you got too close to monsters There is so much more that I won’t post here as you should get the idea I love this game and look forward going back to it when my backlog ain’t as full ( Though That building the oasis mission can go die in a hole)

I seriously thought I just wasn't pressing the right button or something. Those are my two gripes as well (I'm playing on Nintendo Switch). Love the game. Sucks it won't be a third since the creative director of 1&2 left Square Enix last week.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS GAME!

A big heads up. with the camera you can just tap the r3 button to zoom out again.

You need to press it twice because once puts it in 1st person view, and if you're still in a semi-enclosed area I found tapping R3 twice to be fairly unreliable (wouldn't max the zoom out).

The text issue just sounds like a hidden load time to me.

From the initial footage I thought it was inspired by minecraft.

Also an addition to this, if you like fresh and fun combat, this game isnt for you. Its just one button with no dash or dodge.

The malroth head voice text is the worst but a lack of co oo where a real person could have easily taken the part of malroth is just as bad

It's a real shame that there probably won't be a 3rd DQB game. It seems like one *was* in development but it got cancelled among a bunch of other games due to poor performance of other SqEn games. The series director has also left the company, and with Akira Toriyama's passing it seems like all the heart and soul of the series isn't in a position to do any more of it.
