Soundtrack Roman Song
Light of Rome
Firme nunc me spondeo,
Fidelis tibi maneo,
Bella priorum cara patria,
Nunc et semper florens gloria,
Pulchras terrae patriae!
Fortes terrae pro homines,
Romae noster aeterne,
Vis cavire domum navium,
Frusta ipsa impetur,
Sunt sine spe!
Domus dulces portula,
Fraudi ob sat,
Tubae militaris vox,
Legiones procat mox!
Et in tota patria,
Cantus victoriae resonat,
Et in tota patria,
Cantus nostrae resonat,
Tempus est in gaudium,
Superbiae Roma aeterna...
Excerpt Soundtrack from Dragon Blade Movie: Milton Isejima

this movie tells of the Legion of Crassus which, perhaps, reached China (there are not many historical sources about it so it is uncertain) however we are around the year 53 BC. where only the italics were Roman citizens and 99% of the legions were composed of italics..even if it is just a movie it is so touching to see that these legionaries feel so much nostalgia for their and my country: ITALY

Yes, this legion that appears in the movie, could be the Legion of Crassus, because he invaded the Parthia but was decimated because Crassus was a nobleman and politician, having no experience in combat like Julio Cesar. Then, from the remaining legion, the soldiers fled eastwards along the Silk Road, reaching the gates of China.

For me it's both the look on his face, and the respect he shows them when he has his people rise because he realizes that their singing their anthem. The Asians had none for country. How they rise immediately after he begins to sing, and the looks on the faces of the soldiers. The longing for and love of home is stirring and heartbreaking both at once. Were you ever a soldier, far from home, in a place completely foreign to you, and separated from the ones and the place you love and call home, you would understand.

There is a small era of truth in this. There is a story of a town in east China where the people believe they are decendent of Romans. In 53BC after the battle of Carrhae many Roman prisoners of war were taken by the Parthian empire and sold into slavery. Some are believed to have made it as far as China. There is no clear evidence to prove this, except a refference in a battle in China where a soldier describes a strange formation similar to a Roman testudo.

it is more likely to be Greek. for a Asian man like European man they would not be able to tell the difference. Not just the white man is racist threw out history and even today. there plenty of racist and Ignorant Asian people. Apparently both China States and the Roman empire did have Knowledge of each other but they were so far away from each other there was no point in much communication other than trade. And as the empire died China as a Empire did rise. Its kinda ironic that both Empires were sacked by Barbarians and RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS. Sure we could call the Mongols a Empire but.. They would be the most unique empire of all. Its not until late in their power did a empire truly form and it did not last very long as it fragmented quickly.

Also this name "lijan" could came from the word "legion". Also their fortifications were like romans and also actually people of Lijan have some europeans etnic characters. There are not clear evedences bit there are some elements to support that teory

personally didn't care much about this movie overall but the relationship between Chan's and Cusack was what made it worth watching....that and how well they did this scene without dialogue but song, showing soldiers who had been driven from their home because of corruption and yet still having unwavering loyalty for their homeland.

Strikingly beautiful Latin hymn, in the style and power of Pavarotti; this movie shows contrasting music styles, as well as fighting styles. The friendly competition of the various ethnic groups showed the unique talents of each group -- the acrobatic tricks of the Chinese troops in contrast to the solid use of the shield positioning and shoulder lunges of the Roman troops.

The character played by Jackie Chan, shows how smart he is in this scene. He watches them sing, watched their hand position, and realises that this must be a part of their culture that means so much to them. Then get the other peoples to stand in respect. IDK, if they had anthems back then, but he obviously understood the longing they had for their homeland.

The Roman had no concept of an anthem but they did use songs and perform music using the tibia (Greek aulos), a woodwind instrument, which was played at sacrifices to ward off ill influences. Song (carmen) was an integral part of almost every social occasion. The Secular Ode of Horace, for instance, was commissioned by Augustus and performed by a mixed children's choir at the Secular Games in 17 BC ...i believe the song here was originally a poem

Tbh despite the film mostly dramatized, not at all historically accurate 90% of the time. There are little-no accounts of Romans interacting with the Han Empire-with the exception of Roman prisoners reaching the western Han cause and by the Parthian, Persian empires, and of course worldwide trade networks and information. This is one of the best and most entertaining movies I have ever watched. Really wished there were actual interactions between the Han and Roman empires, it would have definitely been difficult seeing as another empire is between both of them, but still, imagine the possibility and the course of history if these 2 mighty empires would have met
