That doesn't mean Rome was always invincible. It was only invincible due to its capable commanders during its golden age, but after awhile it begins losing itself and the Roman empire was no more just like other empires and so on before or after it

Tight formations are better for fighting cavilary since the can protect each other rather than lose formations which makes you vanurable to rear charce
