Studios need to get it through their heads that they are not OWED our money. They have to actually make us WANT to buy their shit because we want what they sell. Veilguard turned it's back on everything that fans of old wanted, so why the hell would we want to buy it?

Fucking dramatic. The game has so much information out now and it all sounds fantastic. In depth skill trees. Multiple skill combos, most banter from any dragon age game, classic romances and so much more. Stop and actually think.

1:30 I can help with that: the gameplay reveal was 51k upvotes to 64k downvotes after 24 hours. 5:00 I found the dialogue and writing shockingly poor, by BioWare's standard, in the gameplay reveal. Example: When Harding asked Rook to take the lead because he is from Minrathous, this would have been a good opportunity to raise the stakes for the protagonist because this fighting takes place in his hometown. Technically, the player takes the lead anyway. What they did instead was him replying with a weak, "oh, that's not my hood" and Harding (a dwarf from the Ferleden Hinterlands!) took the lead. What's the point of that scene except for making the protagonist (us!) look incompetent and Harding look super badass?

I think for me it is trust. I do not trust the people making the game or trusting the people that are getting behind closed door accesses. History has proven that is a very dumb decision. When it comes down to gameplay. This is in no way an evolution of a Dragon Age game 1,2 or 3. This is an evolution Mass Effect game. Add some hack and slash stuff to it. The game play they have talked about just sounds like a more complicated version of Mass Effect. It boiling down to do you like ARPG more or CRPG more. Or at lest that is the way I see it. This is a me thing but I want nothing to do with these characters. They all look like people I rather not deal with or they are more trouble then they are worth. Enemy design looks bland so far. That may change but as it stands, it does not look good. My one questioned I have about enemy design right now. Is who thought it was a good idea to cut off the legs of the pride daemon. Then hollow out it insides and then put lighting up it but? The only thing I can give it that graphically it looks good but it does have more of a hero shooter type of vibe to it.

As far as I'm concerned, they've missed on tactical combat and aethetics, so they'll have to make it up in other areas.

This BioWare is just not the BioWare everyone remembers fondly. The writing is garbage. The characters are cartoons. Not one I'd want to romance in the whole bunch. The combat looks like MMO material. Buying this in the hopes that BioWare will somehow magically get better is an exercise in futility. They are already circling the drain, and this will just be the final flush.

I personally hope that this game turns out good. I've finished all their games on nightmare difficulty and i understand why the old fans are frustrated, but from the interview i feel that they want to do the right thing. Yes, by making those choices they are trying to attract new people but without the support of the old fans newbies wont give this game a chance. They also need to deal with the EA's policy, which makes everything worse. And without the majority of the old developers they cant continue the series as they were originally designed. Those problems make the whole situation dire for the company, and this game can be their last chance to continue existence. Regardless, there is still a chance for them to revive if the game turns out pretty decent and they can successfully make the new ME game

But the people who are saying things about the companions are correct, they are downgrades from previous titles and they have a right to be upset. And then on top of that we are limited to how many we can bring which is going to automatically limit us in getting to know them and exploring each of their stories unless the game is super long. It's bioware. They went so woke with andromeda that it ruined the fking game. They tried so hard to go woke with anthem but infighting and incompetence ruined that game. Honestly I don't think bioware is going to make a come back with this game. Sweet baby is literally in their backyard. Bioware is going to have all that cancer of the sweet baby in the game and it's going to be divisive, boring, bloated, uninspired. Visually it's going to have ugly women, feminine men and there will be some major pandering to minorities and ppl of colour. This game will fail. Then they will take to twitter, utube, Kotaku, ign to blame it's failure on the consumer. They will accuse ppl of being racist, bigots, sexists, misogynists, anti-whatever else they can think of and that will be the end of it. Standard! Bioware is too far gone to adjust to the wants of the masses. No matter what they do and what game they dump into the market, it just not going to succeed. The studio will shutdown. Its only a matter of time. Honestly I want to be wrong. I really want a mass effect 4. I really want dragon age to be good. But these studios are too stubborn to the change, adjust or course correct. Their rigidity will be their downfall. The gamer/consumer will just move on. Plenty to look forward to from eastern developers.

Bioware isn't the same RPG centric company, they've fired the core of that workforce, and EA's forced them to use the frostbite engine which doesn't handle RPG elements thats why DA:V is an action game. Bioware and EA have been ignoring their legacy and their player base since dragon age 2, we gave them a chance with inquisition that they failed so the fanbase was like okay maybe you didn't hear us that was your chance please get it right next time and this shit is what they've given us. i'm at a loss personally, i think it's the end of the franchise possibly the studio.

Kinda funny, Skill up and his crew, etc. Not only that, but people just like to hate things nowadays and this could really become a problem in the future. When Naughty Dog announces their new ip I can almost predict the overwhelming hate from gamers regardless of how good or bad it looks. People don’t use facts or even form their own opinion anymore. How many of these dislikes do you think watched even 2 minutes of the gameplay? And then there’s the whole side of KZread that thrives off of hate. Asmongold, Angry Joe, etc. People who aren’t even fans of dragon age. Every dragon age game has changed dramatically from the last. Only real fans would know that. I fear that even if this game is awesome, that gamers will be too prideful and stubborn to admit it. This is a consumer issue.

I wholeheartedly agree. It seems like the internet has saturated our minds in bullshit and negativity in the last few years and it's rendered many people unreachable and unappeasable. The cult of personalities that have developed around a lot of KZreadrs these days (Podcast Now, MBG, and NIXNE, NightSkyPrince are all cool guys that thankfully refrain from reactionary hate the majority of the time) is rampant these days and it causes already pretty young and impressionable gamers to be even more stubborn and further brainwashed. And let's not even get started on the political campaigns that both the left and right have engaged in to cancel certain games. For example like you said, the next Naughty Dog game. Neil Druckmann may be a little bit of a wokie yes, but there's an irrational hatred a lot of people have toward him. The left hates him for being an Israeli Jew, and the right hates him for having any sort of his own political leanings in his games. People on Instagram hound him left and right about him being Israeli and supporting genocide and other nasty allegations against him (and often just the people of Israel overall too sadly) and it seems like the next game that's under his direction is gonna get a huge cancelation campaign against it when it's announced, even if it could shape up to be their best game yet. It won't matter. People grasp at whatever controversy straws they can and it's largely ruined talking about video games in general.

For my part, I've liked all three Dragon Age games so far. But that didn't keep me from being disappointed in Dragon Age 2's combat and environments, or Dragon Age Inquisition's colorful palette and open-world filler. @@CresentTwilight What put BioWare on the map and made them a legendary studio back in the day was amazing stories and worlds like Jade Empire, Kotor 1&2, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. The STORY, CHARACTER, and WORLD of those games are what they did great. Gameplay has never been their best trait. Kotor is considered one of the greatest rpgs of all time, but that combat system is straight azz and I love that game. Mass Effect is a rare one with good gameplay and a great story, but only from two and on. The first Mass Effect gameplay was average. Jade Empire had good combat for the time, but the rest of the game was what made it great. And for the art style, it’s not cartoonish. Did you watch the gameplay or not? It’s stylized, which is a good thing because it will still look nice 10 years from now. Games with more realistic graphics actually age worse. Look at any besthesda game vs any Mario game. And you said it yourself, Dragon Age 2 was a major change from the first, so was inquisition. So why are people upset with this? Do people want stale turn based combat? Do you want garbage mmo combat with auto attacks? That’s what inquisition had? Inquisition won game of the year but that was a weak gaming year. Fans of the series were not in love with that game. We should want a much different game. And the story and characters seem very interesting so far. So I completely disagree with you.

The gameplay demo sucked overall. It showed PS2 era designs/graphics in certain instances. The dialogue choices were anywhere between three and zero. The storyline makes no sense, and it nullifies everything we did in Trespasser and even Inquisition to an extent.

I don't think it's Dividing fans, I think there are people who really like the first game and can't let that go even after hating the following two. Those people aren't fans.

Your talking about me people who helped start this entire franchise. The ones who have been around since the beginning and put the most time and money into the franchise. You're right it's not dividing the fans. Dividing implies half the people. It's double to quadruple the down votes and fans implies people that didn't just jump on on the end and ruin the franchise. As a real fan I can't expect a non fan like you to understand.

@@fakenamerodriguez8901 bitch I was here before the game was made. Not liking 2/3 games jna franchise doesn't make you a fan of that franchise. And dislikes don't mean shit when you conservative grifters directing people to thumbs down videos because it's "woke"

I really, really, really don't like the combat in the first dragon age, the history was the only thing that force me to finish that game, the combat in the next to games are more fluid and fast, I like more this type of gameplay but, and is a big one, I don't like the story and the characters

This is just the usual internet mob mentality. The trailer missed the mark. However, the game looks like it willl be a lot of fun and what we have come to expect after Origins. I mean look at ME had the other DA games. Anyone expecting Origins gameplay was deluded. I cant wait to play!
