Should be $300-$350. I think $350 is the perfect price for it. At the end of the day it's just a glorified 2wd slash with a different tranny, wheels and some small electronic features.

Looks good but could have selected a more unique body. The c10 has been done to death. Still a fun for for the masses. Id stick with losi though. The trans brake and tsm are a fun option if you just want to watch the car drive itself while you stand there.

The 4tec is a great way to do it I have sent that thing around a short course track designed for the slash and It took every ounce of the pounding. I've bounced it off of curbs rolled it and smashed into a building and it has not broken yet

For 500 I might as well go for the team associated dr 10. Not only is it cheaper it’s a much better drag car anyways. Plus that gives me a lot of money left over to improve it even more and make it even quicker.

It would require totally new moulding to fit and could only be used with the C10 body. Just not practical.

Same VXL system, plastic driveshafts, plastic shocks, plastic geared servo, what is innovative about this Traxxas? Besides your class leading prices?

the reason its so expensive is cuz licensing and the realistic specs of the chevy c10

@@juanpablosaenz852 Get an offset hub. I have Proline Primes 2.8s with the narrow hub on my 4s Slash 4x4. Proline's mounted wheels/tires come with stock mounting I think and an offset within the hub

Most likely no. The new transmission as a whole will be a replacement for the current transmission though.

I love Traxxas, but for $500, I'd rather just build one myself. Outside of the trans brake, they just took what everyone was already doing with their slash for drag racing and slapped fancy tires and a (slightly) upgraded trans in it. May as well just buy a VXL slash, throw bandit arms on it, swap in an LCG kit, tweak the trans and gearing and throw some drag tires on it. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but Traxxas has always been geared toward entry level models that can be modified into literally whatever you can dream up. I think they could've done better, or at least priced it a bit better.

Wonder if Traxxas will make a dts 2.0

Yeah but Losi have a smaller and weaker motor 6500kv and Traxxas drag slash comes with 3500kv. That's the difference.

@@GiantRobot-ic4if It has a trans brake. A slash with drag slicks will not beat this in a race. The regular slash will only do 65 if it's geared up. Also, I haven't seen any official top speeds for this car.

Very nice traxxas ....now all we need is 1/8 ...1/4 scale slash 4x4 ...maybe even use some x maxx parts on it

Yup, when they said Innovation, I actually hoped they'd deliver. That said, bravo to Traxxas for the 25 years too late improvements to the transmission (sealed and real geared diff and metal motor plate). Those will be very much welcomed, I need that transmission for my stampede

The trans brake feature is pretty cool. What else is there to change? Independent suspension, oil filled shocks, brushless, and it has a proper sealed diff now. Even if they made a new chassis using all new parts it wouldn’t be fundamentally different and it would still look the same with the body on.

@@anythingcars1389 it’s not the same, the funny car you had 2 switches and a dial to tune it, you had to get used to the whole sequence to use it properly. This one is one button and you control the power with your trigger finger.

Yes but no different than AE or Losi! It's a proven design (why mess with it?) but they did update the gearbox with a proper sealed diff. The only thing laughable is the price!

Im thinking depending on the surface it could give you a slight edge and keep the tires from breaking, say a 75% throttle setting, repeating time and time again, with the ability to give it more if needed. In the video they set it at 100%- doesn't make since, I agree with you it serves no purpose like that and is a waste.

@@noluckmatt The spur gear is a driveline component. Metal < plastic in the driveline all day. Those plastic spur gears strip so easily it isn't even funny. The vxl3s is hardly the best combo out there. Not even close.
