I have to disagree… just like all our other queer and straight folks out there everyone falls in love and is ready to commit to that love in their own time. It took me a long time to feel ok to say I love you to my now fiancé and her time because of religious in doctrine that she was being preached to at the time. The love was there… it was just time, compassion and commitment that lead to where we are today. I’m not trying to be a mood killer, just frustrates me when stereotypes of any kind are perpetuated like the idea that in lesbian time 3 months is like 3 years in straight time. It doesn’t work like that. We are all human and we all have our demons, obstacles, and emotional capacities to work with and/or through. I know straight people from within the church community who married quickly just so they could have sex under ‘God’s law’ and their marriages failed quickly and I know queer people who took much longer to form a strong committed bond before they were ready to commit fully… and vice versa. I know what trixie and katya say is for comedy purposes yet I also know they don’t hold those biases themselves. It frustrates me when any ‘group’ of people are lumped together and an something is assumed about them because they fall under that group title. We’re all different, individual and falling in love with someone of the same gender and sex as you doesn’t mean you suddenly become a different person and fit into some subset of defined characteristics. Rant over… sorry just irks me.

The fact Yoly and Mal split up so soon after the show, I personally think, shows that Yoly made a mistake in who she chose and it wasn't great for Mal, either, because Yoly didn't really look like she was super joyful accepting that proposal. At least Mal can get out there and try to find someone who appreciates Mal like M deserves. What was shocking to me was how they seriously invited Mildred after becoming violent towards their ex and no one said anything. isn't the comment about the penguins ripped off from the show 'Atypical'? I was hoping Aussie would get called out for that!

it was at least on brand it was also unprompted and unprovoked and that part got to me, like did they watch atypical and somehow associate that energy with their future marriage?

@@cecille5833 haha right?! I thought at first maybe it was a private joke - but from Sam's reaction, it sure didn't seem so! I don't think Aussie knows how to show up as a person, and maybe she resonated with Atypical and chose to emulate that.

Throughout this season and reunions it's amazing how my thoughts evolved about Lexie and Vanessa. In the beginning I was a hundred percent with Lexi. But then Lexie went too far left and no growth whatsoever was allowed for Vanessa which is what this was supposed to be about. So in the end I felt Vanessa evolved or at least became self-aware and Lexi's true colors of her jealousy and controlling issues came bubbling up to the surface showing us all in the end who she really is.

Doubt Katya will see this, but to the question of why are lesbians lesbians while they're gay we do call ourselves gay too, but its important to have the lesbian identity because we are at the intersection of homophobia and misogyny and it's the only sexuality that completely excludes men in this patriarchal word so its important to have a unique word for this since these things create a unique experience different from other queer people.
