    I had fillers injected 4 years ago at dr Tim's clinic in Manchester. The result was awful and some of it migrated. I had some disolved and a few months after I started to have very severe symptoms that continue to this day. My body feels and looks like is melting, is scary and my whole life has been affected. I still have fillers on my face that has migrated and it looks bad. I got in touch with the clinic and they invalidated my symptoms. The also deleted my reviews on Google Maps and Trustpilot. Is absolutely disgusting, I don't know how they are able to sleep at night knowing their medical practice is causing so much pain.

    THANK YOU DR TIM. I watched your video nearly a year ago after I had my filler dissolved in my mid face over 5 times - a little at a time. I thought my smas got destroyed and I was so depressed. Having to read on many forums about the negativity side effects of dissolving - scared me daily. This video of yours kept me going. Now I feel my volume has returned back and I never look better than myself now - with no filler (or almost no filler) in my midcheek. I am here to thank you! ❤

    I just had hyaluronidase injected into my philtrum lines. A doctor suggested a little filler there, and it just looked like two big projecting tubes going down from my nose to my mouth. It also created a blood flow problem I think, because I could feel pulsing in the area and in my nose. I absolutely hated it. So far, it's been almost 6 hours since the dissolve. The lines are much less plump, and no more pulsing in my face, thank God. No visible swelling or dehydrating. So far I am very happy with the results. The filler I had was Juvederm.

    With 30+ years in the medical field before switching to working in investments and spending more time golfing I have an opinion that applies to cosmetic procedures, investments, and many other things. That is the fact that most disappointments and complaints come back to either unrealistic expectations or just not knowing what to expect. Dissatisfaction is usually more the fault of the practitioner not taking the time to make sure that what lies ahead is clearly understood. If a patient does not understand and expect that there will be a brief period of dramatic change that seems excessive but will naturally balance back out as the body rehydrates they will be anxious and unhappy.

    Thank you for this video, I had derma fillers injected about two weeks ago , in which I had a vascular compresión due to high quantity of derma filler infected in one area of the cheek bone,also I developed an infection. In which I was prescribed two weeks of antibiotics with hyaluronidase , thanks to hyalouranidase I had improved the vascular compresión and I had notice a change of appearance that is normal after the dissolving . I had pictures before the derma fillers, after derma fillers and after the hyalouradinase treatment and notices the difference before derma fillers and now is very slightly . I do believe there are many people that suffer of dysmorphia and can’t accept their real self .

    I really want to know if a injector could potentially be ultra conservative with micro drops of Hylenex to the tear trough to see if it partially dissolves what looks over filled ever so slightly and gives a smoother appearance, therefore avoiding full dissolving and refilling which seems like more trauma to the area then necessary

    I live in South Korea and suffer from hyaluronidase. Please understand even if the writing is awkward using a translator. Korean doctors don't acknowledge the side effects. It's just that the patient is the problem. The hospital doesn't even tell me how many shots I used or what drugs I used. It's been 2 years and I've been getting better and worse The problem is, my muscles are constantly losing And the fat on my fingers, palms, and back of my hands disappeared My palms are ragged and my skin is thin, so I can see my veins If your hands are crinkled and recessed, they won't come out. My whole body is soft and I don't have any muscles I'm even losing weight. What's amazing is that I've been working out for two years. No one believes that I'm exercising. Does this work for the rest of your life? As far as I know, the drug itself is released within 48 hours. Does this work after discharge cause problems with my DNA? And my body always hurts because of frequent inflammatory reactions that I don't know why. Where the body stings, there is a dent in the flesh. The hospital doesn't know why. The filler still hasn't melted properly, so it's still on my forehead. Hyaluronic acid makes your skin worse and more painful Does this mean you still attack hyaluronic acid? Do I have to live like this for the rest of my life Is there really no cure? If there's a DNA problem, it's so frustrating. Everyone says I'm a fake disease. The company asks me if I have a serious illness. There are a lot of victims in Korea, but this situation is not even on the news Korean doctor cartels are blocking it They're treating the patient like a lab doll and they're not interested in money or anything Of course, my face is not in good condition. But now, pain comes first, so I didn't write it down in detail. My face doesn't look my age at all. If you're suffering from something like what to do Please leave a comment for me

    I think a slim face without filler is the best look. I had half a syringe of Voluma on each cheek and I already had intense high cheekbones so I looked bad like Cruela. The left side was dissolved faster easier but the nurse put a lot of hylenex on the front of the cheek and so my left undereye is not smooth anymore and never got back to how it was. The cheek itself though felt deflated at first but recovered its volume after 5 months. My right side was tough, voluma wouldn't dissolve, I had 2 and a half units of hylenex. Waited 18 months and my right cheek was swelling periodically, looked expanded and weird to me,though it was subtle but I could notice it so I had 3 tiny amounts of hylenex on the side of the cheekbone and at the temple and sadly this tiny amount dissolved my own volume on the front part of the cheek. I regretted it but will wait and see if volume gets restored. Cheek feels bony and on the temple it's swollen maybe as a reaction. I would say voluma is the worst thing someone young can get, it feels like a thick gel and does not go away on its own even after 2 years. When I pressed my right cheek even after having so much hylenex to dissolve it, I would see a small imprint of my finger on my cheek. The worst part is I don't listen cuz a doctor had told me not to get voluma. Also in Nashville TN it's nurses doing all the injections and that's the root cause of the whole problem. I wish I was seen by a surgeon. Even cosmetologists do the doctor's job here.

    Dr. Pierce, please help. What should I do? If doctors deny and say hyaluronidase is safe, then what happens to me? It can't seem to me. I can send you my video and photo, I want to be useful to people who have the same problems. My lip filler only lasted ten days Since I had a reaction, the lymph nodes were numb. In this regard, I had three sessions of hyaluronidase with a total volume of 150 units. I was waiting for improvement, but it only got worse. I had cramps on my face. I can't paint my lips, because when I swing my upper lip from my lower lip to blend my lipstick, my face is in pain. I believe hyaluronidase can have a strong effect on native hyaluronic acid.

    I think the general consensus seems to be that we do not know what is going on but something is definitely going on and it seems to be multilevelled. There is also a complete lack of evidence and unfortunately patients are the Guinea pigs here potentially unwittingly too. The lack of quality studies for hyaluronidase AND fillers just aren’t there and opinions are being shared under the guise of fact. We simply do not know what is going on and we can only deduce and suggest and guess from observation and prior knowledge etc. for example Casabona’s study is almost entirely useless. Nobody has filler in their abdomen and very few are reversing it so quickly after so it can not be extrapolated to facial fillers. I have often seen quite a few logical fallacies thrown around by medical practitioners and patients alike again under the guise of fact and this is doing injustice to the scientific method and to patients who put their trust in the injectors. The nature of the problem is also incredibly distressing to the people who are experiencing these problems so it’s hard for rational talk as they are experiencing something devastating and quite scary and a lot of the patients are women who are notoriously dismissed and ignored in the medical world second to ethnic minorities. We must tread carefully and push for proper studies and listen to patients. A lot of injectors are far too quick to bypass a proper psychological assessment as well as far too quick to downplay the risks of these treatments through their own bias.

    Urgent Question re: hyaluronidase reaction: Thank you for a wonderful video! I have a question which I feel may help many people here if you would be ever so kind to respond with your understanding. After lip filler treatment which lasted well for it for a couple of years, it began to migrate therefore I decided to dissolve. The usual patch test was carried out and time left to review the outcome was 30 mins and then 24hrs. The result was negative therefore safe to proceed. Elective dissolving was carried out using the usual guided dose (which is what you also advise) and we used a conservative approach to not over flood the area. However, even after the aforementioned points my lips began to swell to the point that my top lip could touch my nose and my bottom lip my chin! They looked as though they could burst. My breathing was fine, no difficulty in any other area to cause alarm other than the obvious massively swollen lips which looked exactly like an allergic reaction would. After a lot of ice packs and antihistamines the swelling went down gradually within 24hrs. It also felt like the hyaluronidase injected into my lips had spread/migrated from my lips to my cheeks and chin as those areas also started to look swollen, which took a number of days to go back to normal and when they did, the filler in that area also looked as though it had broken down. The hyaluronidase used is what is usually used in the UK therefore of animal enzyme and the recommended elective dissolving protocol followed. Could you advise what your thoughts are on my patch tests being negative on every occasion however the swelling being so extreme it looks like an allergy? My background is I am a Registered Nurse and an advanced aesthetic practitioner of a number of years and I have never come across this, other than on myself! I am also unable to find Hylenex or any human synthetic hyaluronidase in the UK to use as an alternative. Any advice would be greatly appreciated for myself and for anyone else reading this comment!

  • @DrTimPearce

    @DrTimPearce

    We are so sorry that this question got missed. Thank you for such a great question. Most allergic reaction to hyaluronidase involve a type 1 allergic reaction - the most severe type. And these are picked up in the sensitivity test. However a type 4 reaction can also occur. These are a delayed response and those with this reaction won’t be picked up at patch test - resulting in a negative response. Delayed responses can occur 45minutes to a couple of hours post injection and even longer according to some studies. Sometimes the patch test of the hyalase can also be too low to evoke a response in some patients. As regards to swelling due to the oedema and pressure of your swelling the hyaluronidase would have migrated that’s correct. I hope this helps answer your question. Kindest regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim.

    An update for anyone interested. I had my third session. I did see more improvement however my chin is still not how it was before. I have to make peace with the fact that my face is changed forever from fillers. They may be dissolvable but my chin isn’t the same. I’m giving it a month before I decide to have another round of disolver or not. I wish I never got fillers. Worst decision ever.

    I recently went in to have a little lip fill (after having them done 2 years ago), & injector suggested to fill NLF...only 1 ML of Juvederm Ultra Plus was split between lips and NLF and it's been 3-4 weeks. I have swelling in NLF that comes and goes and I do not like the puffy look there at all. She also went very superficial in NLF area & one side didn't take well and the skin kept sloughing off for over 2 weeks. The other side looks really puffy more so and that is the side I want dissolved. I went in and she prescribed Keflex for a skin infection during the first week and then said the swelling was from my sinuses, but I didn't have that issue before. I'm very unhappy with it and really don't even want to go back there to see that injector. I do not have dysmorphia, but I am a little pissed as I went in to look better and now all lopsided and puffy looking more on one side. I'm 45, so I'm also worried if I have that one side dissolved it will leave me looking all dried up. Is it possible to treat small areas with dissolver or does it spread?

  • @DrTimPearce

    @DrTimPearce

    If you have swelling that is coming and going it could be something that your immune system is causing. If looking at dissolving your better dissolving both sides. Especially if your filler is swelling regularly. The enzyme does spread so it won’t be possible to get just a specific part dissolved. Your body will regenerate your natural HA over a couple of weeks so you won’t look dried up. I would certainly recommend revisiting your practitioner again for another review. Kind regards Mary. Have you changed you thoughts on this yet? I had filler one time for 6 days before being asked to come in have it dissolved.. so all the theories about it being perception don’t apply to me. My face has changed considerably since dissolver. I went to a plastic surgeons office who said that they could fix it with bio stimulators. Those didn’t work. I’m now almost a year out from the dissolver, and I look worse. So now, from this video, it sounds like I’m falling into the category of someone who would walk into an office, talk about my dissatisfaction with previous treatments and now I’m a red flag rather than being helped. To me, it sounds like I’m being blamed for someone’s negligence.

    @@DrTimPearce Id like to pose this question: hyaluronidase originates from the testicles - it's an enzyme that assists sperm in penetrating the egg. So why would we assume that hyaluronidase targets synthetic fillers before natural tissue? It seems counterintuitive. I'm genuinely trying to understand this because my appearance drastically changed within days. I haven't undergone many treatments before this. I've had Botox maybe five times in the past 10 years. I went in for what I thought was a simple treatment, akin to getting my nails done, and now I've been thrust into a situation I never wanted to be in. Not only that, but now I'm being labeled as a red flag or, as you described it, 'dysmorphic.' I can assure you that's not the case. I am always thoughtful and thorough; I'm not impulsive. To find myself in a position where, in some cases, I'm considered 'crazy' for asserting that hyaluronidase ruined my face feels confounding. Although I'm not an expert, one day my face looked one way, and the next, it was different. It's been almost a year, and I still haven't recovered. I recently watched a video where, for the longest time, plastic surgeons believed that filler didn't migrate... and we now know that's false. Many other beliefs have shifted in a short period. While I do acknowledge that some individuals who excessively fill their faces and then dissolve it may be upset for the wrong reasons, we must seriously consider and validate this issue. Hyaluronidase ruined my face, and I don't fit into any categories where it could be mistaken for something else.

    I have had this dissolver many times, cheeks and under eye, mostly because I am very picky and if I do not like the look it needs to come out. To clarify, I have used sculptra once in the midcheek which was great and most natural looking but this last time I decided to do a filler since it is an immediate result. An HA filler. Never use one that is not an HA unless sculptra etc... I let 6 months go by and I just tired of the look, felt it did not look like me even though it was only one vial.. So I wanted it out.. It took three visits to dissolve with hyaluronidase because you do not want to fill your face all at once with that stuff. My face definitely deflated a bit so I will say in my experience it will take your own HA as well but the good news is three days later I was back to my normal self. So give it time after dissolving. Believe me I hated what I looked like right after but it will be ok in a short amount of time. I am a 45 year old male.

My self esteem was already at an all time low (hence getting the stupid lip filler smh) & I just couldn't handle it getting any worse . I did go to the best plastic sugeron in my city but I didn't research it enough prior &the docs definitely mislead me & also didn't give full disclosure about the real negative side effects of fillers eiher. There's so much conflicting evidence/personal testimonies it's hard to decifer the truth. Question, did you get the "deflated" side effect every time you went in to dissolve? Did your face return 100% back to normal every time after each of these sessions? & with in 3 days or so? Did you have any other side effects? I also heard it burns really bad while it's being injected in & dissolving. Did they massage the hyaluronidase around /in your lips after injecting? I saw this in some videos. Good evening. So it does sound like issue you are having is caused by the old dermal filler that you have in your tear trough area. You are correct, it can last longer than what the box states and over time as the old filler breaks down it causes more puffiness or lumps in the skin due to migration and it’s hydrophilic action. Having the filler dissolved should be the end to your lumpiness. You will return to how you were prior to the filler regarding the hollowness or volume loss. Your skin may appear a little more wrinkled initially as you don’t have the filler plumping the skin out anymore. Good skincare / eye retinol can aid with this. The other option is to leave it as it is if you are comfortable with light massage that improves your lymphatic drainage every morning. But that’s a personal choice of course.

    Thats what I said! Literal definition of gaslighting. They act like this is a science backed procedure. Most of the medical aesthetics isn't well researched or studied. Hyluronidase use in dissolving filler has no independent, peer reviewed research. Using it is an off-label, unregulated and isn't FDA approved. Just like with PRP or PRF injections into the face. No studies on efficacy or best practice or standard procedures exist. They take products used in the medical field and apply, assert hypothesis and apply them to their own uses. Implement that into their practice and then lie to patients and take their money. Be honest, tell your patients this isnt well studied, here are some possible risks or outcomes based on anecdotal patient experience, and say there is no evidence in the literature that says these experienced are a proven side effect, however that may be representative of the gap of information in the literature itself.

    Perhaps, but controlling appearance does not always mean you are vain. Most patients do it for themselves, how they feel, not how others perceive them.

    I have dissolved my lips after getting them done for roughly 12 years, they were so uneven and had a lot of filler in, probably about 1.5ml… what I have realised is, My own natural lips are so nice! I dont know why I ever wanted them doing! I was clearly very young and insecure, Loving my new natural lips but they are a little wrinkly and look dehydrated 🥲 I am going to do some CIT in 2 weeks time to induce collagen to them naturally
