Thank you for addressing the issues associated with Hyaluronidase. You may be one of the few practitioners with integrity to speak out about hyaluronidase honestly. Thank you so much for that. I ended up getting hyaluronidase when I was 36 to dissolve some filler in my later cheeks and it severely damaged my tissues, not only in the area where it was placed but in most of my upper cheeks where it completely sank the areas and left indentations around the areas of immediate injection. After two years, my face has still not recovered from the damage. The FDA and Health Canada need to take steps to regulate this substance and use it only in cases of a medical emergency such as in a vascular occlusion before more people get seriously and needlessly harmed by it.

Thank you for being one of the very few, very rare, medical professionals with integrity! Please educate other injectors on the possible dangers of hyaluronidase when it’s improperly injected. I have spoke with people of all ages damaged by this enzyme. From late teens to mid fifties, some injected with small amounts of hyaluronidase, some with larger amounts. Many are not able to recover no matter their age or amount injected. Could you please post your findings in a peer-reviewed journal? Thank you

Thanks for being one of the only honest people in the medical Field about this. I had my lips, and I feel like most of my face destroyed about 2 months ago. I’m finding it hard to go in public and I work In The public eye, so my work appearances have been giving me insane anxiety and making me incredibly depressed. I feel like I aged 20 years over night and the doctor literally said to me “lol, maybe it’s your diet or something!” Does this ever improve? Will the indentations be permanent? Thanks again

Thank you for settling this. It’s not fun being told that the hollowness in areas where I’ve had hyaluronidase was just my perception and that I was just used to how it appeared with the filler there, as if I don’t recall what I looked like prior to the misplaced filler. Sorry for sounding salty, but it’s pretty frustrating. So I really apprecIate your candor!! 🙏🙏 Also, PRF was great at helping to restore the issues caused from dissolving!!!

@@vt7165 I did. It was took over a week to notice how hollow it was because I swelled up like crazy and it took that long to resolve. Once the swelling went down, I was shocked at how hollowed it looked. Half my upper-lip looked slightly indented and you could see a line of demarcation where the hyaluronidase was. I had more natural volume/thickness in the skin below my nose than down by my lip. So I waited several months to give my body time to recover, but it only recovered so much. So I looked into ways to help it recover further

@@Zahria269 If you find someone who has training and experience with PRF, they will be able to inject PRF that will be safe and natural. I now prefer it over all other fillers. As a stand-alone injectable, it won't make any drastic changes to your appearance, so it's not something you'd use for any major volume correction. It's very subtle. But, like other non-Hyaluronic Acid fillers, it can't be dissolved, so the injector should use a cannula and be very careful around veins/arteries.

Allyson, Would it be possible to speak to you privately about the PRF? I recently had the very similar situation happen to me and am very devastated. I had poorly placed lip filler and had hyaluronidase 5 times to try to remove it. Instead, it has depleted all the volume out of my tissue “around the outside of my lips. It’s really bad and I’m having major anxiety now. I’ve been trying to research things I can do to help my tissue and was looking into the PRF. I’d love to hear about your experience and what all helped your situation. Thanks, Julie

I dissoved my fillers in my lips with a cannula and the lady who did it used it over my lip because she thought I needed it which I didn’t. Now after I did my lips again at a serious clinic it look like my fillers migrated. But the case is that the tissue feels so thin over my lips now so it makes a little fold just in the middle over the uppelip especially when I plout. Never had this problem before I went to her.. Done lipfillers and dissovled with a needle before under 10 years of time

In particular, I believe outcome varies depending on whether or not a woman is peri or post-menopause, and whether she’s on estrogen replacement or not. If you are post-menopausal, and are not taking an estrogen replacement, think very carefully about whether you can live with the risks mentioned in this video!

Profhilo in Europe is great if done not too superficially. Topical hyaluronic acid eye drops and oral hyaluronic acid for 3 months has been shown to improve skin quality and dry eye. I had filler migrate along my orbital septum which was terrifying. Dissolver causes really dry eyes that felt like they shrunk inside my head for at least two weeks and my skin just isn’t the same. I had tiny units injected. It’s very scary and nobody can pull up any studies on the safety of this. The use in eye surgery seems to have gone out of favour because it was causing more complications. The problems with eye surgery patients is common side effects would already include pain and changes to the eye area as they’ve had surgery so it would be impossible to separate the two. Using it on other areas of the body also wouldn’t highlight the problems it’s causing on the face as the anatomy is completely different and there is no SMAS so it’s terrifying that we are essentially Guinea pigs and being shamed and insulted for highlighting the side effects we are experiencing. I doubt if the victims were men, we would be having this problem. It’s a common issue in the medical world that women are not taken seriously.

Thank you for being bold enough to speak on this! You are a rare gem. I have to have a midface lift and lower bleph because of Hyaluronidase. Over a year ago, I went to one of the best PA’s in my state to have under eye filler dissolved, and she used the standard amount of dissolver to saline solution ratio, yet it still caused so much damage. It made my face completely lose its structure and become loose, and stretchy. My under eye area and cheek area started to sink in. I developed orange peel texture. The orange peel texture came first within just a couple of days after dissolving, and then over the following weeks and months the caving in began and it just progressed. I spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it: Fibro blast treatment, Sculptra, creams, supplements, facial exercises, red light therapy, HBOT, and nothing worked. I’ve been active on Facebook trying to warn others so that they don’t have to go through this.

Hi, fern. I've done a decent amount of research on this topic. If you go to an experienced (must do research) injector, they can dissolve the lumps you have issue with. I'm in the medical field and have worked in aesthetics (but no, no expert). I thought I wanted to be an injector but realized (before it became a popular topic) that filler does not dissolve but migrate. I've been preaching this to everyone I know in the industry but it falls on deaf ears. I do think the dissolving enzyme has its place in aesthetics (mainly to reverse occlusion) and can be injected in very small doses directly to an area of filler nodule/superficial lump. The issues with indentation I have seen (and am currently experiencing on my own face) are quite dramatic when this enzyme is injected in a larger area (with no specific lump) in hopes of volume reduction. I injected it under my eyes/upper cheek/orbital rim, and have severe depression at the area. It also caused indentation in my lower cheek. I'm trying to decrease overfilled cheeks (vs targeting a specific lump/bump/bulge). Does that help or make sense? I do think you could use a very small amount of this enzyme in a very specific area, targeting those lumps you have issue with. You shouldn't have to feel "damaged". I wish you so much healing either way, and know that you are not alone. xo

@@jessica0321 thank you so much for this :) I'm struggling with filler-caused tearbags for about 2 years now and I'm too scared to get it dissolved. I tried taking bromelain and papain enzymes and did lymphatic drainages which did help a little.. to me, you do sound like an expert and not being alone with it means so much to everyone who's experiencing this ♥️ hyaluronidase sadly has a huge spreading factor and so idk if you could make sure to just dissolve the filled area. There are doctors who use ultrasound as a guide, but you can't really control the enzym. and the enzym itself is made to break down tissue.. it's so scary. Guess we need another way of dissolving, no hyaluronidase but maybe another enzym. I don't understand why it's so hard to dissolve HA; it's nothing but a more complex sugar, isn't it? I'm so mad at myself for having filler done.. Was told it would simply dissolve on it's own by time... ._. why in all of the world are doctors allowed to tell us this crap.

A nurse who owns a business in Michigan wanted to use an ultrasound to find areas of lumps of filler and discovered my fillers in my lower cheeks and lip area. She quoted me about 15k to dissolve. I was shocked at the cost..she then told me she would have to start all over again and re fill these areas after everything would be dissolved. That would cost me more thousands. I questioned what the integrity of my skin would be after that process. Would my skin look worse than what I have now. I said NO!!!

15k to dissolve? Absolutely not. That is a red flag and shows an incredible lack of integrity (on the nurse's part). Im so sorry you experienced that. You were likely already feeling disheartened and I imagine that did not help. Additionally, if she is charging even a fraction of that quote, she should be able to answer every single question you have, and provide before/after pictures of past clients. Next!!

Hello, I have two question .1. After injection, does hyaluronidase spread over the entire face or further than it was injected or does it only work at the injection place. I have read many opinions of women on real self who have had hyaluronidase, for example on the cheeks and see deterioration of the skin of the entire/whole face. It is possible? 2. How many units of hyaluronidase should be injected in the area above the upper lip or under the lower lip if the acid has migrated beyond the lips?

I've heard of this occurring but I'm still not clear on the long-term mechanism of action of this damage or native HA supression. Naturally occurring HA in the body turns over fully every 21 days max. Very interesting as always. I still think the risk of this happeing is perhaps a bit overblown and we now have people walking around who badly need filler dissolved but are too scared to do so. I personally had to inject hyaluronidase in the buccal area - filler migrated over several years downwards; skin was dry and crepey for 3 weeks but fully recovered.

OMG, do not start messing with dermal fillers at your wonderfully young age. Try a nice, non-smudging lip-liner in a color that compliments your own lips natural color. I’ve had thin lips my entire life. I didn’t realize it until social media became the rage. Now, aside from watching a select few KZread channels, I don’t go on it. Not even FB. And I kept my naturally thin lips. Better than having a shriveled up, compromised face. A surgical lip lift seems “safer” than lip filler, but wait about 10 or so years, at least, before you start cutting up your face. By then, hopefully more injectors will be telling the truth about the risks of dermal fillers and dissolvers.

I’ve never heard of filler migrating upward. I was under the impression that it migrates downward because of gravity. I guess anything is possible. Damn gravity!

Same thing happened to me. I got Tyndall in my tear trough and so the injector went in and dissolved. The hyaluronidase did take away my own collagen (injector said that's not possible). Um yes it is possible. I am living proof lol. Now I have an indent in my tear trough which only way to fix is to put more filler. Very scared at this point and leaving it alone for now. Just know I will never use hyaluronidase again!! I don't like how the industry makes it seem as though u can just dissolve if you don't like it and all is good. Please be careful ppl!! Most doctor's don't give a shit about you if something goes wrong. So sorry to hear this also happened to you

Please help me. I’m in hell. I had an awful experience starting from October 2020. Got lips filled with 1ml revolax then had to get them dissolved by someone else as I was in so much. Pain a week after. Then had to get them dissolved again cos the filler migrated to my gums. And that’s where my problems started. Constant pain in my lips, spots all around them all the time, stinging, sudden allergies. I saw a doctor in may who promised me he could fix my issue by dissolving the rest again with hyloronadase, this was 6 months later. I said ok, and then within 24 hours, all my problems started. I’m now in constant pain, with both sides of my face, I have constant muscle twitching, constant pain in my neck, stiff neck, sensitivity to touch, teeth pain, random bouts of facial stiffness and numbness. It’s hell. I have issues with my back now, sleeping is awful, now suicidal. I’m only 19.

I hope you have had some improvement in your symptoms, same happened to me in 2019 but it did get better. The dissolver affects the smas in our faces and some other people I have spoken to have experienced the pain too, it seems to be neurological. It affected my eyes too. It’s awful stuff. Have hope that time will make things better for you, take good care of yourself, look up supplements to take and eat healthy

I am also affected (idiot Dr. injected about 400 iu per zone, lips, nose and jawline) just doing research I found that hyaluronidase is present in snake venom, antidotes for hyaluronidase are anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen, flavonoids and antioxidants to mention the easiest treatment. I will try to have flavonoids, high doses of antioxidants and anti inflammatories for 15 days and will update you.

This stuff is disgusting. They will tell you everything but ine ruined my upper and lower lip. O matter how many injections and then refilling… first wrinkles everywhere then filler put in to make it look like ripples depending on your water retention- basically this stuff DIes ruin your skin because hyaluronidase acid etc DOES integrate w your own skin and when taken out it creates hollows everywhere. They should WARN you about this because once done it’s never the same ever… and they suggest lasers liplift a, more filling. I ts one year later and my whole upper lip will never be the same!!!

Your comment is ridiculous. The societal pressures of beauty have brought many women to fall in love with the idea of fillers. However, what they don't tell you that filler doesn't dissolve fully on its own. They encourage you to get it topped up every 6-12 or so months. Then they flaunt hyaluronidase as the cure all, when in fact it works unpredictability to certain people. Too many injectors overfill and have a poor technique. No one asked for botched fillers. The opposite, in fact. Sadly these injectors get away with their neglect to inform patients the truth, bad techniques and the rest and it's the paying customer who suffers while the injector is bringing in wads of cash. It's helpful to try and understand how these women are feeling, instead of your silly comment. I'm sure you're not perfect (and if you believe you are, you're 100% a narcissist and that's dangerous in today's society.).
