Not to sound cheesy or easily influenced but huberman really changed my life. Im 19. The changes arent mental they have manifested in my life.. and will continue to do so. Just one example- doing cold showers based on his information has done wonders for repairing my relationship with my mom and grandma. His bringing to light for me of the stress enhancing mindset has took me out of a 6 month depression. I could not face the work I had to face until I realized that I can utilize the stress instead of being debilitated by it. There are many more 🙏🙏🙏

Just had a 2-year checkup after Testicular Cancer. Still cancer free, thank God. I went in 2 years ago because I noticed a slow urine flow. It appears to have been unrelated, but that was the catalyst to me going in for further checks and finding the tumor in my testicle. During this checkup, my Urologist referred me to pelvic floor physical therapy (or something like that) to address the urine flow issue I originally went in for two years ago. Getting old sucks, but to anyone who is reading this - DO SELF CHECKS AND ASK YOUR DOCTOR IF SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT! No amount of embarrassment is worth ignoring these issues. I'm still here for my kids, and hopefully will be for the foreseeable future because I asked. 40 yrs old yesterday.

I did notice the interrupting issue on Dr Huberman’s end that so many other commenters have called out. But for such a brilliant, well-educated, compassionate and super hot doctor like Huberman who has set out to effectively improve the lives of countless people with little regard for his own personal gain in this podcast to demonstrate his own humanity in this way was-in my humble opinion-literally beautiful to behold. For Huberman to get so excited about the ideas he’s most curious about, especially when speaking with an intimidatingly beautiful and wicked smart woman like Dr Malik, is a lesson in itself! So grateful to both of these beautiful humans for everything about this episode!

Pelvic floor physical therapist here! So glad to see Dr. Malik bringing up how important it is to see a specialist like myself for pelvic floor issues. It's often not even something people are aware is an option available to them! I was especially glad to hear her talk about how kegel exercises can negatively impact symptoms if done either incorrectly or done in the wrong scenario. Many times when I've tried to tell people about pelvic floor PT online I get the question "can't I just look up some kegel exercises?" Which, I'm glad they're interested in doing exercise, but there are many scenarios where they can increase their symptoms and possibly bring on new symptoms as well so I'd never advise trying those exercises out on your own if you have access to other resources such as a pelvic floor PT. It's a very complex area of the body to teach people proper control of (I can't count the number of times I've asked people if they know how to do kegels, they say yes, and then it becomes apparent very quickly upon internal examination that they aren't doing a proper kegel or even kegeling at all). It's not impossible to learn, though! Side note, I'm only about 35 minutes into this video as of writing this comment (may update it later if I have more to say), but in case Dr. Malik doesn't mention it, bedwetting is an area where a pediatric pelvic floor PT can be of great assistance! If a child is wetting bed past a typical age (past 7 years old is usually when this stops though not in all cases) a pelvic floor PT who treats pediatric populations can help with this! It's often just habitual education to the child as well as strategies to help improve their bladder control. This was the topic that got me interested in learning more about pelvic floor PT during my schooling as I was a late bloomer in that regard and would have appreciated knowing earlier on strategies and education to help me stop doing that earlier. So, I always try to leave education where relevant about this specific subsect of pelvic floor physical therapy, hope this comment helps any parents out there with children struggling with this issue!

As a former recurrent UTI sufferer, mine was a candida issue which was treated with a dietary cleanse, oregano oil and cranberry. Ive been UTI free for over 10 years since that cleanse. Another low risk ‘treatment’ to try if antibiotics don’t work for you, which was my case after being hospitalized with a kidney infection.

What they call Kegel exercises have been practiced for thousands of years. There are the three “bandhas”, one of which is essentially used for strengthening the pelvic floor which is considered the seat of “Kundalini”. The chakra associated with it called “mool-adhara” which literally means “root support” which is what was talked about.. the pelvic floor holds up all the other organs.

The truth is infant circumcision is the biggest cause of ED and sexual issues. Why not get into that conversation?! Break down the science of how it damages sexual function on every level. They got me and restoration is the only thing that helps as far as keeping the gland protected and increasing sensitivity losing 20k nerve endings, blood flow and no movable shaft skin. Keep it clean like any other body part. But guys like you wouldn’t touch the topic as it doesn’t fit the narrative of US culture.

Thank you, Andrew Huberman. I am subscribed and I try to listen to one of your episodes a day. I particularly enjoyed the Dopamine and Motivation episode. I am a history teacher, and often I find myself thinking about the connection between psychology, neurobiology, and the macro behavior of humans throughout history. It would be great if you had some historians on your podcast. It is always great to have a holistic approach to any subject, and the connection between the macro and micro levels of human behavior is fascinating. For example, you said "Hearing something that confirms your preconceived belief releases dopamine". This had me thinking about some disastrous movements in history, like Nazis, cults, the Inquisition, any uber-partisan group, etc.

I wish they would've given more time to discussing the impacts of masturbation and porn consumption. It is stated that people that can maintain healthy relationships and a job doesn't need to worry about it, but what if the work performance could be even better and the relationships even deeper? Surely it is plausible to have a job and healthy relationships, while still engaging in an unhealthy habit. I have my own subjective experience of quitting porn and reducing frequency of masturbation but I would love to hear it discussed by professors and medical professionals. There is a lot of bold speculation and misinformation around the topic on the internet. Very grateful for this amazing podcast!

I appreciate your content so much Andrew 🥰❤️ Please, I’m begging you, talk about PMDD, I only discovered I suffer with this disorder recently and it’s awful 😭 It took 8 years as I was misdiagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder at the start. It’s so heartbreaking to see that us, as women are not educated enough and there is not much awareness about PMDD 😢 I have only discovered PMDD while watching your ep. with Dr. Sara Gottfried, I have googled something that you guys were talking about (can’t remember specifics) and then somehow came across PMDD and it all made sense to me as I have gotten the anxiety symptoms shortly after taking a break from the pill 8 years ago but never connected the dots as the doctors thought it was generalised anxiety and so did I until recently 😒 It’s an awful thing to live with, you know your body better than anyone and know when something is not like it should be! Apologies for the long comment. I just hope you read this and hopefully have an episode on this subject. I’m sure it will help hundreds of women out there 🙏🏼 The work you do through this podcast has helped me tremendously and I can’t ever thank you enough, you are a godsend Dr. Huberman 🙏🏼 Sending you so much love and appreciation ❤️ EDIT: Wanted to add that I’m back on the pill now (Yaz) and it’s working as in I feel like myself, more balanced and without anxiety or any of the awful symptoms that come with PMDD. However I wish I was thought how to heal this or learn to manage it better without the need to take the pill or any anti-anxiety medication. I live in Ireland and can’t seem to find any doctor here that would be able to help unfortunately.
