Dr. Phil CONFRONTED: You are a right-winger!

-- Phil McGraw, known as "Doctor Phil," joins David to discuss his new book "We've Got Issues: How You Can Stand Strong for America's Soul and Sanity." Get the book: amzn.to/48r2bTu
Here are the sources Phil sent us. The first involves an untenured adjunct professor, the second involves a professor's contract not getting renewed rather than a termination, and the third involves the professor being removed from teaching certain classes rather than a termination:

I have watched this clip a few times now, because it's a masterful display of logic from Dave Pakman. I know his background is in political science, but I suspect he's a philosophy fiend on the side. He presents his thoughts almost like a lawyer would, which is a methodical step-by-step approach, steeped in logic. In this clip, Dave calmly and respectfully forces Dr. Phil into a corner, without him even realizing he's being lead into it. Once in that corner, Dr. Phil knows he now looks like an idiot, but by then, it's too late. I'm a huge fan of Dave Pakman! 👍

So you can listen to another person that’s trying to manipulate you out of your money and support? I’m sorry, but the fact that these people are psychologist which are some of the most openly liberal minded people and yet you’re telling them to stay out of politics because it doesn’t benefit or favor your ideology just proves that your philosophy and ideology kind of stinks. I’m not trying to be the mean guy in the group, but if you’re argument, false flat the only way for your philosophy, ideology or political belief to even be moderately successful is if all the other intellectual thinkers, philosophers and therapists were to keep their mouth shut and not speak up about it then you have what is considered authoritarian Regime. Of philosophy, ideology and political viewpoint aren’t allowed to be given the same level of criticism as you or your political viewpoint isn’t allowed to be criticized as harshly as the others that you criticize yourself then you’re just being a hypocrite. You’re just trying to give into that Mentality that makes it sound good to your own ego instead of actually following politics because of your own ideals and values in common interest for what is what you believe is better for society as a whole and that includes the people that you politically opposed against. I honestly think that Supports David Packman don’t realize that they follow more like mentality than they realize and that’s why David Packman was kicked off and burned bridges with so many left leaning political over KZread as well as mainstream media because he doesn’t know when to shut his mouth and be respectful because he wants to think his ideas and philosophy, and political viewpoints never been tried before in our always the 100% right answer when they’re not.

There are very significant and obvious legal/moral/ethical issues around the ownership of human beings that simply don't exist with speed limit laws. You can't tell me there weren't good white people that knew full well owning other humans was wrong or that many people in the future would not have less than positive views on the subject.

I don't learn from street names. I don't learn from the name of my school. I learned from books. I learned from teachers. I learned from studying. I learned from conversations. We don't need to keep/promote/celebrate disgusting people from our past to learn about them. Germany knows all about its past with exact zero statues of Hitler anywhere.

Try to live as justly as you could under an unjust system or 2. Toss your life on the scrap heap and give up what little power you had to live justly at all. It's the same today and we do the same thing. You can't compare, for example, Thomas Jefferson and Adolph Hitler but I've heard people on the extreme left do just that.

The difference between retroactively penalizing someone for breaking current laws and renaming a school named after a historical racist, is that one of these things is victimless, while the other isn't. The consequence of the 200 year old dead guy having his name removed isn't about him; it's about restitution for those STILL impacted by his racism.

His argument was out of line from the start, but it is a debate tactic. Not a very honorable one, to say the least. Because he stated something where we are forced to agree with him. Now that we are on agreeable terms it is easier to take this agreeable thing and compare it to something unagreeable. Now we are more likely to agree to this aswell, due to the established consensus of agreeing with the one presenting the case. It's weird to explain and I forgot how this type of argument was called again. One thing is certain though: This is a tactic to persuade not to convice. It was never about being reasonable. It was about him trying to force us to shut up and not demand change. It would have been easy to debunk this, if David would have asked him if he would agree, that a hypothetical "A. Hitler School" should keep it's name. Because that is exactly what he is arguing for. If he is trying to play it dirty, we have to put im on the spot and challenge the fundamental idea he is arguing for.

@@joy1ess It's actually a lack of education that increases birth rates. The more educated will factor in financial costs and logistics of having a child, and won't likely have one. Poverty stricken Africa has lead to angry men not making enough to support a family so they go get drunk, rape their wives who go on to birth children, thereby compounding the problem of not being able to afford them. The more educated women are taking control of their lives, having a career or supporting their families in other ways. It's true even in America where the more educated the person, more likely they refuse to have children or will wait until they are financially stable to do it. Nevermind that housing is not as available and there are more apartment buildings than single family homes now.

Slavery was always NOT A GOOD THINK and just because a group of people tried to make it ok is jot the same thing!! The way you know it was not a good thing even back then is the fact that enslaverys ripped out the portions of the Bible that explicitly stated that they should be kind and good to an enslaved person . Yet they pulled those parts out and gave slaves only the parts that they wanted to emphasize. What if being a serial killer was ok back in the day. Would it be of to name a schools after ( and put up statues of ) Geoffrey Dahmer, or John Wayne Gacy, or the Night stalker, or Jack the Ripper, or The Green River killer? Hell Nooo!!!!

Because with the decline of church attendance in this country, politics fills the void and right and wrong are measured according to party platform and how much you adhere to it.

One case in North Carolina at UNC Chapel Hill was regarding the withholding of tenure from a professor, Nikole-Hannah-Jones, because of her research and work on the "1619 Project." However, conversely to Dr. Phil's statement, it was a conservative, mostly Republican led and controlled Board of Governors and Administration that denied the tenure of a progressive, and Black professor. For context, UNC Chapel Hill is a public university, funded by the State, which is currently (and historically) led by a majority Republican legislature. So there's one example for you.

The fact that Dr Phil's is on this show only highlights the ignorance he was talking about because people here are nothing but shallow, bad faith, tribalistic, pathological ideologues that only look at the world through a political lens and demonize anyone they disagrees with. Even with their diversity of opinion Scholars, professors, doctors, psychologist etc are the real hero's and are more sincere in their pursuit of truth than this performative Weasley political KZreadr. This guy had a conversation with the people from triggernometry only to turn around and have a thumbnail saying he was ganged up on by two right-wingers. You can see it in his weird looking eyes but I guess he's making a lot of money off the polarization so touche. There's also lots of evidence of professors being canceled wtf 😂
