The guys at Triggernometry doesn't have an agenda other than having interviews with people from across the politcal spectrum, with scientists, writers, debatours etc. You came into this interview thinking it was a fight and that they were trying to 'get you', which I guess is how debates are in the USA between the left and the right. I think you are incredibly wrong in your perception of how things went and what these two stand for. I actually think that had you properly listened to them, that you would have agreed with them a lot more instead of being so defensive.

If you watch the interview it wasn't a setup or double teamed etc.David here is king of the semantic nitpicking. To say that the pullout of Afghanistan couldn't have gone better is farcical. All Biden had to do was evacuate the citizens first before the military. It would still be a mess of country but to say the pullout couldn't have gone better is a lie that all the left leaning media have said. It is a lie and makes me sick. Where is the honesty? There were people hanging off of planes. I could have organised it better with no military experience. As for the handshake, it really doesn't matter, Biden is not competent and he is very corrupt and is pushing towards nuclear war with Russia and all those on the left who defend him by comparing him with Trump are being disingenuous in the extreme.

I don’t understand what he did wrong. If anything, he made the progressive POV more understandable to a couple conservatives. I understand the show was longer that this clip, but all I saw here was a reasonable discussion, and if anything, David simply communicated things honestly and made these hosts (and hopefully some of their viewers) see that progressivism can make sense, when explained by an actual progressive and not by an anti-progressive propagandist who cares more about an agenda than reality.

He conceded that Biden is not as sharp as he used to be. He pointed out some examples of trump making empty promises (which I know republicans don’t like hearing), and pointed out some of Biden’s accomplishments without acting like some sycophant, which is how a normal person is SUPPOSED to feel about a political candidate (which trump and his fans have forgotten). He discussed the trans issue with them, and both sides made points and conceded others. Sounds intellectually honest to me. Are you simply upset that he didn’t just come on and let them berate him the whole time, and ultimately accept all their points without argument? What exactly did he do wrong?

@@mola55e5 I'd strongly encourage you to watch the entire conversation from start to finish on Triggernometry's channel. I believe you when you say "you don't understand what he did wrong" the fact that you refer to Konstantin and Francis as a "couple of conservatives" means you've missed the issue completely. They aren't a couple of conservatives. Francis has been politically left leaning his entire life. The issue is he entered into a conversation with apparent respect and then when it was finished, returned to his own channel and knowingly and deliberately mislabeled them as conservatives and spoke disrespectfully about them and the interview. Watch the full interview. Form your own opinion as to both parties' conduct. Watch all the subsequent videos he's made regarding that interview and watch their response to his behaviour post interview. Then let me know your opinion of his behaviour. Perhaps you'll still condone it, perhaps not, but at the very least you'll be fully informed of the situation.

Depends on the country. I'm a Swedish centrist and most Americans would call me quite the leftist. The center line in the US is far to the right of Europe in general and especially Sweden. I would place the leader of the conservative party in Sweden somewhere around Obama. Even in Sweden, the political center has been shifting to the right in recent years. So it really depends on both place and time.

If you look at the way that political polarization has progressed, remaining in the center between left and right currently places you further right than left. We are in the middle of a reactionary backlash. If you are in the center of that, entertaining reactionary nonsense framing, you are functionally right wing. If you remain dedicated to entertaining “both sides” no matter what they are, you are not neutral.

This interview was absolutely NOT a disaster - unfortunate that the title says it was. It was a very honest debate between two respectful hosts and a respectful guest, all of whom were able to disagree but be intellectually honest in doing so. The hosts WERE open to a good faith conversation about all subjects. Well done. Keep doing these interviews.

The first two topics brought up were cut short because the 2 didn't do "enough research". Started out with a smug reference to a bad faith argument, and then immediately fold to the slightest pushback. This is standard for most conservatives.

To all concerned in the thread under Brian's heading: I'll split the difference here: Yes, David seemed far better prepared for this back-and-forth discussion than the other guys in this video, especially if we go on the metric of what would constitute a "debate". I certainly believe my old debate instructor from school would have given Mr. Packman very high marks for his performance, and hosts Kisin and Foster...well, something a bit less. That said, it WAS a very respectful exchange, with questions and arguments all made in good faith. The hosts (particularly the guy on the left) was able to admit, more than once, that he was not properly prepared to engage Packman any further on certain individual topics-or had not done enough research, etc. Considering how easy it could have been to simply gaslight, straw-man, or engage in a lot of whatabout-isms, I'd say that took some honesty and intellectual courage. Given that, it would be fair to say that had Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, or Jeanine Piro been running the interview, we would have been treated to a total sh*t show instead of an actual discussion. So let us be thankful for that. So in conclusion, yes, I would agree that the video's title sounds very clickbait-y. And really, I don't think that kind of after-the-fact grandstanding suits Mr Packman well. It's already obvious he was the "brightest bulb" in the room; why rub it in? So yes, a better title, please... That's all I got. Thanks, and cheers

Well I think the title is referenced as disaster because David was really stunning these guys by how well informed he was on the topics and the fact that he for the most gave them a different perspective. How nice to see a conversation like this. It's not just people yelling over one another spewing non sequiturs and talking points.

While I agree with David on most points, I hate the title of this KZread clip “progressive double-teamed by right-wingers, disaster.” I thought the triggernometry hosts were respectful, courteous, and thoughtful. I didn’t see any “double-teaming.” I thought this discussion was 100% better than anything you would see on Fox news… I appreciate hearing opposing points of view without all the vitriol you get with most tv formats.

David is much better in these discussions compared to his channel that tends to be clickbaity, but I have seen him also totally fail when he was debating Destiny.

I lean towards David’s thought processes but I thought all three men did a really good job with this interview. Respectful and at least visually open to the other trying to understand each other.

Right from the get-go GUYS : "Trump changed things in the middle east" DAVID : "What did Trump materially change?" GUYS : "Let's move on to another topic..." Game, set, match in pretty much the first 90 seconds.... At 2 minutes in, it's David running the interview, while these guys are on the defensive.. Thing of beauty..

I think for conservatives they are major issues. I think for liberals and leftists they are less so. According to NBC, there have been over 240 anti-trans bills proposed by the GOP in mostly red states. They define an anti-trans bill to be a bill that specifically limits access to hormones, medical procedures, gender affirming surgeries, anti-gender identification laws, sports restrictions, restrictions on guidance counseling for teenagers and kids in schools, etc. I'm not saying I or you should agree or disagree with any or all of these, and I'm sure some of them are blatantly worse than others, but the GOP has absolutely made transgender laws a focal point of their legislative strategy. Maybe not top 3 issues. But in terms of social issues, the "trans issue" is absolutely a major fight the right is having right now. Immigration has always been a hot issue for the right. at the State of the Union you can literally hear the MAGA crowd chanting build the wall. Obviously, inflation, oil prices, corporate power, and a plethora of other economic issues are absolutely major, but Republicans are basically running their entire 2022 campaign on "dems bad" and "trans people are groomers" and with the Alito draft leak it looks like abortion is going to be a hot issue. McConnell floated the idea of a federal abortion ban, so maybe that is going to end up being more important than some of the other things, so perhaps not top 3, but when it comes time to vote Republicans will definitely be showing up in force to vote for trans limitation bills the GOP will push for once they win.

Just look at his channel, the title describes the content for the most part, but is written like a Fox or OAN title. It's really just a joke, which I guess is an inside joke in a way? He mentioned it on the last live stream of a dim don rally. He was laughing at the titles of his own videos.

David was one of the few people on the left that I would recommend people to watch but now I'm a bit hesitant to do so due to him framing Triggernometry in such a bad light and being so bad faith in his analysis of the interview, when in fact they were incredibly respectful and seemed happy about the discussion. Now when I think of the kind of people that give the left a bad name, David appears to get closer and closer to that group, which is a shame :(

Hi David. I respectfully take issue with the title of this video. This debate was not a "disaster", certainly not a "double-team" by any sense of the word (though it perhaps languished on less important topics). The guy on the right barely said a word, and the guy on the left was a good-faith actor, certainly not snarky or condescending like most of the right-wingers you talk to. I think branding the conversation so negatively reduces chances of future debates with these gentlemen or others like them, and that is a disservice to your viewers (and possibly your show), since good-faith discussions across the political spectrum are so difficult to find. Simply put, and obviously axiomatic, it is important to promote norms of civil dialogue in our generally hateful, echo chamber-like world of discourse.

Totally, I follow Konstantin and Francis and they are always open minded to hearing different people's perspectives and not talking down to them when they disagree, which there should totally be more of. They also respectfully agreed to have a good faith discussion with open minds, then Pakman titles the discussion like this. Tells you all you need to know about him.

"Total disaster". Bizarre framing, unless it's just being done for clickbait. They had a good faith discussion, which I watched in full on their channel and I didn't see anything other than a reasonable and robust debate. Calling them right-wingers and saying it was a total disaster like it was Fox News or something makes you look more sketchy than them. As a long-time British follower of your channel, that's disappointing. The purpose of these kind of interviews is not just to give you a platform to espouse your views, it's to deliberately take the opposing side in order to test your arguments, which is a common approach in British political discussions. I thought as a knowledgeable and educated chap you'd be familiar with this, but it seems you've chosen to crudely dismiss them as 'right-wingers'. I doubt Brian Tyler Cohen or Sam Seder would act as snidely as that. It seems the Triggernometry guys were also surprised and disappointed by this and have made a response video.

I don't pretend to know why David put "Disaster" in the title but, if I had to guess, he was just being humble by saying his performance was a disaster. Plus, ask yourself if you would've clicked on the video without the buzzwords? It's done for visibility for the most part.

Whenever David shows up as a guest on on conservative media, he always puts "didn't go well" or "got OWNED" or something like it in the title of the clip. It's pretty much a Pakman inside joke at this point.

This was a looooooooooong way from being a disaster. This was a great conversation. This is how it use to be, when people in this country had differing opinions. I miss these type of conversation.

The whole Trump not articulating that he would have done anything different during the Afghanistan withdraw is 1000% dishonest. Trump has talked about keeping the Bhagram airbase open, keeping the military there until everyone was out, and getting the equipment out as well, among other things. David streams every single Trump rally where Trump has discussed what he would do different on multiple occasions. David is such a partisan hack he has to try and spin a false narrative just to try and minimize the embarrassment that Biden is. Also, saying that polling shows the U.S. is more respected now with Biden is also a joke. The world leaders actions suggest otherwise. China literally lambasted this administration right to their face in Alaska, Israel and Palestine started hurling missiles again, and Putin invaded Ukraine. David is bad faith personified. Also, when he says he doesn't care about the democratic party when all he does is constantly defend the democratic party and attack the other party he is also being completely dishonest with that as well.

This was great! We need more interviews like this! A lot of these topics are complicated and I love how both sides were providing their opinion without theatrics. It’s ok to have a difference in viewpoint, as long as you respect each other. Great job everyone 🤗

That went rather well, imo. The host tried to stay in good faith & David, as expected, remained in good faith. This is the model for productive discourse, well done.

David's definition of "woman" at 11:25 is circular. He's basically saying you're a woman if you're trying to be a woman. But that doesn't answer what a woman is.

It is easy to interpret it that way, but I think what he actually means is not circular. The second "woman" refers to the loose collective perception society currently has of what it means to be a woman, a combination of physical and behavioral characteristics. Now, Pakman's definition would technically be a part of the perception society has, but it would be insignificant. He likely _perceives_ whether someone is a woman much more often though pattern matching/intuition.

It is funny how every time David verbally socked a dude in the face with facts, the dude on the left would end up saying, "Well, I do not properly have information for this." It seemed that the dude on the left did not prepare at all. He was so sure to have gotcha moments but was smacked down each time. The dude on the right seemed smart enough to not even try.

Pakman should run for Senate... He has the word salad down, and most of all he has the strategic conversation ability to back a person in a corner for a "I got you" moment

These comments say a lot about the people who watch this channel… David repeatedly asked if they wanted to have a good faith conversation- and everyone did and it was indeed a good faith conversation. Says a lot about David’s integrity that afterwards he would attempt to smear them by calling them right wing and it was a disaster. the trigger guys are not right wing, and they didn’t see it as a contest… it was supposed to be an “honest conversation with fascinating people”…. Their purpose was to interview David and give Him time and space to explain his viewpoint. Sure they didn’t agree with everything and offered an alternative view - but when they say “okay” and move on, it’s because they don’t want to have and win an argument. They’re trying to explore what david (the “fascinating person”) thinks about things. Clearly a strange concept for people here…

I think this a very accurate, good faith description of how the conversation went down. In the most part, I like to hear from David on his political views, I think he is very reasonable and balanced, however I do see him as being quite arrogant and I don’t think he seems to me to be a very nice person.

@@rstoflet1217 That could be true, still an unfortunate choice of title nonetheless. A British “left of centrist” is quite far to the left by American standards. As someone familiar with both shows, I would say David aligns quite closely to the Trigger guys politics. The title is quite inaccurate.

I've heard of being "culturally christian" - where one who does not believe in Christianity goes through the motions for one reason or another. The idea that someone could be left wing politically, but right wing culturally (whatever that means) just isnt resonating with me, its very contradictory.

As a veteran I'm telling you that the pull out of Afghanistan was a complete disaster. We know how to move things, the Air Force mission is literally "Global Reach, Global Power". We know logistics and getting in and of places while securing priority resources. It's literally our job. The pull out was so pathetically horrible I personally felt it was complete incompetence beyond orders or magnitude.

To be honest, that was probably as much of a good faith-centered debate that you could have found today. No name-calling, very little interruptions, everyone had an adequate amount of time to deliver their opinions. While I completely disagree with the hosts, they did an excellent job by letting David speak, and at least try to search for a common ground with him. Neither side seemed to budge much from their ideological perspective, but they keep the conversation constructive, fair, civil, mature, and (most important) on topic.

For whatever it may be worth, it was an actual discussion that occured, and it's both depressingly refreshing (this should be the norm, not the exception) and hopeful they were able to have one.

What I have learnt from watching conservatives is that if you don't know enough about something to comment, you immediately take the most extreme and simple-minded opinion stated in the most aggressive way possible. Unless you get challenged, at which point your only two options are to either act indignant and throw a baby-fit, or be honest and fold like a wet paper towel.

For you to say he comes off as arrogant, unpleasant and disingenuous, shows me that you don't care to do the mental homework necessary. It just seems mentally lazy to me. Pakman was not condescending, even though there were multiple opportunities to be that. Knowing what oyu speak about and being assertive and asking fact finding questions, isn't being arrogant. How was this a disaster David? They brought you on their show to hear your views, and for you to promote social democracy. I agree it's misleading, but this is a way to workaround the YT algorithm, which heavily favors those types of video titles. People have done experiments that prove that regardless of the actual substance of the video, the title alone affects how the algorithm prioritizes.

I love how the conservative brought up two things that he "hadn't done enough research on". Also I wish the point about ciswomen sexually assaulting other ciswomen in prison was pushed further.

Relocating our Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem- amid outcry- was one major thing which Donald Trump did, regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I liked this, so I went and saw the whole thing. I had never heard of these guys before, but they seemed respectful and honest in this interview. David did a good job in the interview, as usual, but I am disappointed about how he framed it afterwards, to the point where I think an apology would be warranted.

I agree too. I really like these conversations but I feel like David goes into it disingenuously, even prefacing his responses with "are we having an good-faith conversation" which bums me out.

David - "Donald Trump was a humiliating embarrassment" Presenters - already triggered, *blinked angrily when processing the fact David shared*

David is totally copping out on the question: "Should a person with a penis be in a female prison?" TOTAL cop out/dodge. He said he doesn't know enough about how the decisions are being made. He wasn't asked anything about how the decisions are being made. He was asked if he thinks a person with a penis should be in a female prison. The avoidance is an answer in itself, as, if anyone actually thought that simply "identifying as female" or "presenting as female" etc... warranted considering the person female, then the answer would be immediate and affirmative. This is a perfect example of disingenuous, inconsistent bullshit on this topic from certain people who represent themselves as backing the "trans" crusade, but who don't follow through on the position. It is pretty clear that David doesn't actually believe the entirety of the "trans" manta, but who is lacking the courage to outright say so. I want David to answer whether or not LeBron James would be allowed to play in the WNBA if merely claimed he identified as female, and more to the point, SHOULD he be allowed to play in the WNBA in that situation. NOTE: I am highly left wing, but the left loses me on certain topics.

trump and intelligent people around the world think getting out of afghan was good... BUT..... as trump said why not get the people out first then the military.. that's what was wrong. taking out the military first was the disaster and all the deaths and people left behind are proof.

Within the first 90 sec , Pakman was able to completely shut down the false talking point that trump's so-called "peace treaties" were meaningful in any way. Konstantin went from nearly bragging about the peace treaties to finally capitulating and saying he's not an expert in the area.

I know a significant portion of the audience has wanted to see David get double teamed. Not my thing, but I’ll watch

Previously there was no travel or business allowed between two countries and now there is. Do you realize how preposterous David’s argument was here. Different countries signed the Abraham Accords, and while they might not have achieved everlasting peace there must have been something otherwise what are the nations signing up too in the first place? No change, which is David’s position, is not a credible answer. If there was no change then why not just not sign up to a new agreement? Riddle me that. He does the same move when it comes to the border wall with Mexico. The border wall wasn’t built. But there’s border wall standing there that wasn’t around before Trump took office. Do you not realize what sort of a sophist David is? He’ll take three half truths and spin them into a lie and try and pass that off to the gullible. And he’s very good at it too
