Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices. Fasting should be investigated as a treatment for disease.

Sounds good but not workable. Nutrition just isn’t the sort of subject that can be ‘taught’ that simply. There are carnivores and vegans that believe opposite things and have evidence etc. All the medical system can do is reduce it down to things are scientifically and medically undeniable. That essentially what dieticians do.

Would love to try doing the laps of the Rancho Santa Fe hill (6 percent grade for 1.6 miles) on bike.. but 4 hours on the treadmill ( 3.5mph at 15 degree incline ) is Peter's Zone 2? Regarding the 50m mark, I heard that the facial fat decreases due to ultraviolet exposure. BTW, did the fires have any effect on the Maui Nui Venison?

I love Peter Attia. I agree with pretty much all of his philosophy. But I don't think he understands Intermittent Fasting. The whole point of it is to give your digestive system a rest and let your body use other sources of energy. Not to mention other hormones the body releases to repair itself only in the absence of food. So if you eat anything outside of your fasting window, you're not in a fasting state anymore. While his concerns regarding muscle loss are genuine, there has to be a way to balance IF and healthy eating to prevent muscle loss.

It’s not about the amount of protein consumed. Lots of protein does not equate to the amount of muscle mass one has. How you train or exercise is key. Train type 2 fiber and take about .8/kg of protein. More animal protein=shorter life, not more muscle.
