Love the episode, i like Louren when she does solo episodes, otherwise I feel she is mean n jumpy on her husband..I salute him for still showing up and being himself.. i wish Lauren would tone it diwn n allow him to be!
I appreciate that Dr. Attia supports someone's decision to be vegan for ethical reasons and will work with and support them being the healthiest vegan they can be
I can't thank Peter enough for the work he does. He's lifestyle, his routines, it's just pure motivation. Even his willpower hurdles - that too is motivating since it shows our humanity and proves once again that exercising and at least focus on the right thins sill exonerate so many sins ))
it also takes a bit of financial wellness to biohack, buy good food, pay for things like infrared sauna etc

I agree with both of you. A lot of this ‘space’ is very much a gimmick aimed at rich people, but there are real things like fasting and calorie control that apply to everyone

Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices. Fasting should be investigated as a treatment for disease.

right on, bro. doctors are not trained in preventing disease. only in diagnosing and treating with medications and surgeries. never addressing the underlying causes.
@HkFinn83

Sounds good but not workable. Nutrition just isn’t the sort of subject that can be ‘taught’ that simply. There are carnivores and vegans that believe opposite things and have evidence etc. All the medical system can do is reduce it down to things are scientifically and medically undeniable. That essentially what dieticians do.
This guy changed my life. Anyway I think it’s much easier to have an elite vo2 max and strength ie dead hang for a minute when you’re lean than having substantial subcutaneous fat on.
If you want to ruck, go to an outdoor equipment store like REI and have them fit you with a daypack. Have them show you how to adjust the straps and to put the heaviestitems at the bottom. Backpackers know the proper way to fit and wear backpacks to prevent pain.
I would like to see him and Dr Mindi Pelz to debate on the fasting topic.
If you get a bone density test by your doctor, does it automatically show total body fat and muscle mass?
In your conversation here around the 26 minute I am curious then if the “you can’t out exercise a bad diet” is now looked at as false?
Is there any issue with the sodium content of the jerky?
Regarding the quadruple shareable Elk Pozole at Alce 101 in San Diego's Solana Beach.. that's only 20 miles from Comma AI and Fiesta Island Dog Park! Would love to try doing the laps of the Rancho Santa Fe hill (6 percent grade for 1.6 miles) on bike.. but 4 hours on the treadmill ( 3.5mph at 15 degree incline ) is Peter's Zone 2? Regarding the 50m mark, I heard that the facial fat decreases due to ultraviolet exposure. BTW, did the fires have any effect on the Maui Nui Venison?
Nice podcast but tbh, the amount of ads is annoying and it comes out of the blue. suggestion, please vocally say that the ad is playing from time x to y. thank u

@Dedicated_.1

Omega 6 largely in excess of omega 3 is inflammatory. Since fish oil is omega 3 it could weigh against the omega 6 from Soybean oil and leave you with a healthy ratio - depending on the doses.

I love Peter Attia. I agree with pretty much all of his philosophy. But I don't think he understands Intermittent Fasting. The whole point of it is to give your digestive system a rest and let your body use other sources of energy. Not to mention other hormones the body releases to repair itself only in the absence of food. So if you eat anything outside of your fasting window, you're not in a fasting state anymore. While his concerns regarding muscle loss are genuine, there has to be a way to balance IF and healthy eating to prevent muscle loss.

It’s not about the amount of protein consumed. Lots of protein does not equate to the amount of muscle mass one has. How you train or exercise is key. Train type 2 fiber and take about .8/kg of protein. More animal protein=shorter life, not more muscle.

Health care costs are out of control. Going WFPB vegan can save money, pain and suffering from disease. Lower your chance of high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer by going vegan. Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating.
