Love Dr. Nassif and Tyler. I lost my mom to Covid last November, a year ago. It was a traumatic experience for our family. The ambulance took her away and we didn’t think we’d never see her again. They confirmed it was Covid and from then on we could not see her. She was intubated for 12 days as they tried to save her life but on that 12th day I got a call that said if you want to say your goodbyes come now. We were only allowed 15 minutes to tell her everything we wanted her to know about our whole lifetimes with her. And we had to wear layers of protective clothing, goggles, gloves and masks. She was scared at first when we walked in due to our crazy outfits. She couldn’t talk unfortunately as her mentation was degrading quickly. It was the hardest and saddest thing I’ve ever done. I miss her everyday. Every. Damn. Day.😢

Physician errors on the operating table happens so much more than people realize. It’s been 5 years for us and I still cry almost daily. It’s life impacting and altering. I’m grateful that she didn’t suffer for a longtime. Because, she had a massive stroke & she never regained consciousness. She wanted to pass away @ my childhood home & my 2 older sisters and myself took turns administrating medicine to keep her comfortable. I don’t mean to be tooting my horn by any means. But, I’m grateful that I was gifted, to be with her on the last night that she was on this earth reading on the couch right next to her hospital bed in the living room ❤️

I feel like this reading was for me in such a huge way. I’m very shocked, but in a wonderful way. The relationship between my mom and myself was very codependent. It was almost like we were to each other both an open door and a closed door, each of us saying to the other, go thru the door, there’s another world out there for you, but let me quickly close the door before you leave me. I literally at 56 have never had a life outside of my mothers life, she passed and the feeling of not being able to go on has been sometimes paralyzing for me, and the grief almost unbearable. I feel in watching this my mother was saying to me, we always loved each other, and I love you now, and our bond is not broken, but don’t let me hinder you and hold you back anymore, go thru the door, there’s another world for you out there. I feel just amazed and so much joy, I feel like weight has been lifted off me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this episode!

We lost a little girl named Alexis. She, too, passed on way before her time, at only 5 years old. Maybe this is her way of letting me know that everything is okay.

( his sister ) I feel so bad for her because just this am I said I never thought I’d ever stop crying ( my mom passed 4 yrs ago), but I feel such a strong connection to her still . She sends me signs all the time . I’m glad she can finally have peace

People need to understand that every person on the planet grieves in a different way. Let that person be. You cannot force grief acceptance on a person who is truly grieving. Please let it take however long it takes for that person to heal and be able to move on. I realized this when my Mother passed away. I will never forget that it took me over 8 years to get over my Mom's death. To even be able to talk about her without crying.

The story of him losing his mother struck so close to home with me because it’s almost how my mother passed. But my mom made it out of surgery fine, but everything done in the surgery was basically destroyed by a nurse and said couldn’t be fixed because of parts being on back order. She went in for a feeding tube while she healed from another surgery that kept her from being able to physically eat at that time. Before they could even use the feeding tube a nurse had accidentally “cut it” while changing bandages. Why she was using anything that could have cut through this tube while doing a bandage change is beyond me. But she basically starved to death and they didn’t do a thing about it. My last coherent day with her was Mother’s Day 2011. I squeezed into her hospital bed with her and we watched Due Date until she fell asleep. Early the next morning she was wheeled into surgery. She went to be with the lord on June 29th. So if you are wondering how long someone can go without any food…52 days. Keep in mind they did give her TPN which gives the body nutrients but no physical feeling of being fed. I asked and they assured me that she would not have any fulfillment from TPN alone. That was hard to hear. I’m still extremely angry 11 years later. And no matter how much it hurts and how I wish I could just throw in the towel and be with my mom. It’s that actual feeling that keeps me grounded. Because I too am a mother and I wouldn’t want my son to ever feel like I’m feeling. He’s only 14 and I could never leave him with that depression.

I’m sure my Mom and Dad would not be overjoyed at my life choices and things I’ve done in the past. But I believe the give me strength when I need it most. I can’t imagine the feelings and thoughts they both had … but it’s clear their future will be peaceful.
